An ideal home in the country combines the best of nature with modern amenities. In the case of the Brereton residence of Bellaire, Mich., it also combines artistic ability with three different roofing materials – including metal roofing from Petersen.

The distinctive curved roof of the Brereton residence was designed by Shoreline Architecture of Petoskey, Mich. General Contractor Widing Custom Homes of Traverse City, Mich., builds homes in all shapes and sizes throughout the Grand Traverse area of Michigan and has earned a reputation for never deviating from its commitment to quality.

Roofing contractor Mills Construction Service, Traverse City, Mich., has more than 30 years of experience and is committed to installing the perfect roof, while making the process easy and enjoyable. The contractor’s specialization in a wide variety of roofing materials made them perfect for the Brereton residence project.

Petersen's Snap-On standing seam roofing panels in 24 gauge steel were selected because of their high performance qualities. A weathered zinc finish was chosen to complement the adjacent wood shingles and flat roof. As the roof was installed, the Breretons commented on the high level of workmanship and artistic ability that went into the project and referred to the installers as craftsmen.

“We are based on the belief that our customers’ needs are of the utmost importance. Our entire team is committed to meeting those needs,” said Mills Construction Service’s Tyler Mills. “As a result, a high percentage of our business is from repeat customers and referrals.”

The Brereton residence is rapidly becoming an area showcase for the blending of nature and architecture. Steel panels for the project were manufactured in Petersen’s Elk Grove Village, Ill., plant. The distributor was Oakland Metal Sales in Auburn Hills, Mich.
