The 7,300 square foot Tradewinds home in Orlando, Florida, is a unique project. It utilized the finest example of exemplary architecture, innovative products and applications, and environmental consciousness. It is a high-performance home, with a systematic approach to energy and natural resource conservation, indoor air quality, and comfort that has earned certification from local and regional green building programs. The project was sponsored by 25 of the world's leading product manufaturers -- all with an objective of environmental responsibility.
Metal Sales Manufacturing Corp.'s Image II roofing was selected for this project because it fit the parameters of the home perfectly. The designers were looking for an energy efficient, unique roofing system and Image II was an ideal fit. Its 45-year paint warranty and Energy Star certification fit right into the ultimate objective of the designers.
10,000 sq. ft. of Image II panels were used on the Tradewinds Residence. Formed from 24-gauge, acrylic-coated Galvalume steel, the 16"-wide flat panels were direct fastened. Image II roofing has passed testing for fire, uplift, impact, and wind resistance.
