Founded in 1934 as TTCU (Tulsa Teachers Credit Union), now called
TTCU Federal Credit Union, has more than 140,000 members throughout its
20+ locations. The
exterior of one of its newest buildings features over 4,000 sq. ft. of
Omega-Lite® ACM panels in Dove Grey, Slate Grey, and Ascot White, manufactured by Laminators Inc. of Hatfield, PA.
The
architects from Tulsa-based Cyntergy chose Omega-Lite panels
because they offer a highly decorative, strong, and durable surface
finish for exterior wall surfaces. Comprised of a polypropylene,
corrugated core between two finished aluminum sheets, the panels are
non-absorbent, water-resistant and easy to maintain.
Sooner
Recon, Tulsa, installed the ACM panels using the “Legacy
Version” of Laminators' 1-Piece, Tight-Fit Molding installation system. This
proprietary system made the panel installation simple using
durable 1-piece moldings—both "H" and "Reveal H" moldings are available
providing two different design options for the panel joints – and
allowed Sooner Recon to proceed immediately after the wall preparations
were completed. A traditional, yet high-tech appearance
was obtained at an affordable cost for all involved. Overseeing the
construction was general contractor, Cowen Construction, Tulsa.
In
May 2019, Laminators introduced their new and improved field-fabricated
installation systems--1-Piece, Tight-Fit Molding and Clip & Caulk--that are fully integrated back-drained and ventilated systems,
with an optional continuous insulation component. Since the onset of
the new systems, Laminators has renamed and continues to support the
previous 1-Piece, Tight-Fit Molding system as “Legacy Versions” of their
systems. The legacy field-fabricated installation
systems are ideal for various architectural features, as well as when
building codes do not require the high-performance as designed in their
new back-drained and ventilated systems.
A
“Legacy Version” of the Laminators 1-Piece, Tight-Fit Molding
installation system can be for use over plywood (structural) or
non-structural (gypsum) sheathing and also addresses NFPA 285 (National
Fire
Protection Association) compliance.
Laminators’
Omega-Lite panels installed with the 1-Piece, Tight-Fit system
guaranteed TTCU Federal Credit Union a class A fire rating as well as
met NFPA 285, Miami-Dade County Product Control and Florida
Product Approval requirements. Laminators Inc. manufactures
high-quality ACM panels that meet these stringent performance levels and
provide design professionals and building owners the confidence that
their cladding will withstand the most extreme conditions.
