The Stage Struck Children’s Theatre, which is part of an historic district in the state of North Carolina, measures 6,120 square feet. Located in Goldsboro, NC, the structure utilized 5,007 square feet of Star Building Systems’ StarShield Roof System, along with the DuraRib Wall System that totaled 4,216 square feet.

A Star custom metal building was chosen due to the requirements for clear spans and elevated ceilings for performances. Time and cost were also major factors in using a custom metal building.

Completed in July 2008, this structure had to be rebuilt after a fire burned the Stage Struck Children’s Theatre and Historic Paramount Theatre to the ground. To be a part of the historic districts in the state of North Carolina, the Star Builder had to comply with the historic guidelines.

The front wall and connector building consists of metal studs, sheeting and brick. The addition to the side of the children’s theatre consists of metal studs, EIFS and rubber roofing.

To make this project more energy efficient, high efficiency heat pumps were used.

The Star Builder and general contractor was Daniels & Daniels Construction Company, Inc., Goldsboro, NC. The steel erector was Kings, Inc., Wendell, NC. The architect was Smith Engineering & Design, Goldsboro, NC.
