The new 401 Lofts apartment project in downtown Akron, OH is geared toward young professionals and students. The upscale development includes amenities such as a fitness center, computer lab, 15-person movie screening room and yoga studio. Helping create a hip, stylish look on the development’s exterior were ProCore™ panels from Citadel Architectural Products.
Approximately 5,200 sq. ft. of ProCore panels, finished in Champagne Anodized, were utilized on the project. ProCore is a field-assembled exterior cladding system using flat panels and perimeter trim moldings. Available in textured or smooth aluminum face and plastic core, this simple “stick and sheet” system saves installation time and money.
Installation of the Citadel system was done by AM Door & Supply Company, North Jackson, OH. The ProCore panels interface with fiber cement siding in a complementary manner. “It was somewhat of a complicated design,” noted Tom Dugan, project manager with AM Door & Supply. “This was our first time to use ProCore although we have used other Citadel systems with great success. There’s really nothing to go wrong with the ProCore panels They are quick to install and seal easily. It’s a nice product and we enjoyed working with it.”
Design for the project was provided by Bialosky & Partners, Shaker Heights, OH. The developer was Richland Communities, Middleburg Heights, OH. The Citadel sales representative on the project was Ranco Architectural Products, Hilliard, OH.
