Located at the Yuma International Airport in Yuma, AZ, this hangar project totals more than 32,000 sq. ft. The Aviation Industrial Complex – Yuma County Airport Authority facility was created with steel framing and related products from Star Building Systems.

The hangar is covered by Star’s DoubleLok standing seam roofing in Polar White. In addition, Star’s PBR and 7.2 panels in Light Stone and Rustic Red colors were used in an interesting combination on the walls, while EIFS was used on the front façade.

The building includes six shops, two LT rooms, four offices, a conference room and a break room. A mezzanine, provided by Star, provides for storage space and a mechanical room. Two 110’ x 20’ sliding hangar doors are located in the rear endwall.

The project was completed in 2013 by Eckard Commercial Construction, Yuma, AZ. The architect was Patterson Thompson Architects, also from Yuma. The facility was selected as Best of the Hangar Category in Star Building Systems’ 2013 Master Builder Contest.
