Measuring a total of 790,827 square feet, the Natural Milk Production, LLP facility in Harlan, IA, utilized more than 1 million sq. ft. of Star Building Systems’ DuraRib Roof and Wall Panels in Shell White color, in addition to Star’s metal building systems.

This agricultural facility is a large complex made up of seven buildings with four connector buildings. The seven-building facility includes a Freestall Building totaling more than 550,000 square feet, a Holding Building at 25,488 square feet, a Special Needs Freestall Building at 157,920 square feet and a Hay Building totaling 6,000 square feet.

Among the other buildings are a Parlor Building, Office Building and a Commodity Building. Due to its size and complexity, this project utilized Star pre-engineered metal buildings instead of conventional construction.

The Star Authorized Builder is Landmark Builders, Inc. located in Watertown, SD. The general contractor was LBI, also located in Watertown, SD. The steel erector was Concept Builders, located in Atlantic, IA, and design was completed by SDE (Sioux Dairy Equipment), located in Rock Valley, IA.
