The 4,109 square foot Pontotoc Fire Station #2 utilized Star Building Systems’ SMTS and SSB structural metal framing systems along with Star’s StarShield roof system. Completed in November 2008, a Star custom metal building was chosen for this Pontotoc, MS project due to requirements for long open spans and ease of building erection.

This project was able to incorporate conventional construction with the Star custom metal building. Conventional construction consisted of apparatus bays utilizing CMU block construction to the top of the parapet elevation. The administrative/dorm area was constructed using 2 x 6 exterior wall framing.

The Star Builder, general contractor, steel erector and designer was Worsham Brothers, Corinth, MS.
