Baker Hughes Pumping Services Facility Administration Building

Framing From Varco Pruden Buildings Gives Structure To Oil Field Services Facility

The 34,422 sq. ft. administration building for Baker Hughes’ pumping services in Shreveport, LA utilized Varco Pruden Buildings’ Deck Frame framing for its construction, accompanied by pre-cast wall panels. This system allowed for large glass areas and a dramatic canopied entry structure.

The roof of the facility for Baker Hughes, a leader in oil field services, is a built-up system that was installed over VP-provided decking and bar joists. Varco Pruden’s Continuous Beam framing was also used on the project. Additional design features included: support for an interior folding partition, multiple rooftop units, special interior clearances and transition to an adjacent shop building.

It was noted that the project required a significant amount of coordination between the owner, architect, builder and Varco Pruden Buildings. The Varco Pruden Builder was Crossland Construction Company of Columbus, KS. The Designer was Energy Architecture of Houston, TX. The project was completed in May 2012.
