The Center for Courageous Kids in Scottsville, KY is a world-class medical camp designed specifically for children living with medical challenges that would prevent them from attending a traditional camp.
More than 50,000 sq. ft. of Petersen’s Snap-Clad panels were utilized on multiple buildings at the $16.3 million facility. The 24 gauge panels were finished in Award Blue to provide continuity and a bright look throughout the campus.
The 140 acre campus is open year-round and includes an on-site medical center, equestrian center, bowling alley, indoor aquatic center and gymnasium.
Construction for the design/build project was done by Hardaway Construction, Nashville. “It was a pasture before we started,” said Wayne Sharp, senior project manager. “But what a great outcome for the kids!”
Given the multiple buildings involved, the project was bid in phases according to Sharp.
Two roofing contractors were involved in the installation: Gunter Construction Roofing, Scottsville, KY and Geoghagen Roofing, Bowling Green, KY.
