The Gatherings Shopping Center is a 14,004 sq. ft. multi-purpose building located in Port Arthur, TX, which features steel framing from Star Building Systems.

Ron Cleveland Construction of Beaumont, TX was the Star builder and general contractor on this project; the company also handled the erection of the metal systems. The architect was Architectural Alliance, Beaumont, TX. The project owner is SGU Properties.

In addition to the Star framing systems, other metal products were also used on the shopping center. DoubleLok panels by MBCI, formed from 24-gauge Galvalume Plus, were used on the single-slope roof. Metl-Span's 2”-thick Tuff Wall panels, in Textured White, were used on the walls along with an aluminum accent panel which resembles wood. There was 8” of additional unfaced insulation installed in the walls for an R-value of 40.3. The roof is R-32. High impact windows in 1” thickness and wind-rated doors were also utilized.

Weather was a challenge during the shopping center's construction. From ground breaking to drying in of this project, the erector and crew had to contend with 108” of rainfall.
