Glasgow Fire Station

Star Building System Blends Well With Conventional Construction

Completed in May 2007, the Glasgow Fire Station in Newark DE, totals almost 8,000 square feet. The builder chose to use Star Building System’s StarShield standing seam roof system and StarTherm wall system, in addition to Star’s steel framing.

In conjunction with Star’s products, 20% of the wall system was conventional construction. EIFS and stone were used on the walls.

This project was a perfect fit for Star’s pre-engineered metal building due to clear span spaces required. A pre-engineered building was also chosen for its economic appeal.

Special treatments on this fire station include a stone base and a dyed concrete floor.

Star’s Authorized Builder is Nowland Associates, located in Newark, DE. The steel erector was also Nowland Associates and the Architect was Giff Nowland of Nowland Associates.
