Located in Little Rock, AR, the 8,000 sq. ft. Hugg & Hall Mobile Storage office and shop facility is a showcase of metal construction products, featuring exposed metal building framing, metal roofing and metal wall panels by Varco Pruden Buildings. Steel shipping containers – products marketed by Hugg & Hall - were also key elements used in the construction of the structures.
The 3,200 sq. ft. office building employs eight shipping containers in the design and it is encapsulated with a pre-engineered Varco Pruden Rigid Frame metal building structure; exposed columns from that metal building system offer a unique visual appeal. A Cool Granite Gray coating was used on the Varco Pruden SSR standing seam roof and on the Panel Rib wall panels. Cool Zinc Gray panels were used for the entryway. It was noted that the shipping containers were modified and joined together to allow open areas and larger office spaces than standard containers provide.
The 4,800 sq. ft. shop features an open space that also includes eight shipping containers. Those containers act as columns to support the roof structure. The roof is comprised of beams and bar joists, and it’s covered by a Varco Pruden standing seam roof.
The Varco Pruden Builder was Kinco Constructors LLC of Little Rock, AR. The Designer was Jim Hugg Architects, also of Little Rock, AR. The project was completed in April 2011.
