Bay Insulation Systems supplied its black Skyliner® Insulation System for the newly constructed Kettlestone Central Sports Complex in Waukee,
Iowa. Owned by the Iowa Athletic Foundation, this state-of-the-art facility is now the largest youth sports complex in the state and is set to become a central hub for youth athletics across the region.
The project was awarded to Mid-States Millwright & Builders, who selected Bay Insulation Systems as their insulation supplier of choice. Eric Walter, Bay’s District Sales Manager for the region, worked closely with Brandon Carson, Project Manager
at Mid-States Millwright & Builders, throughout the project.
Carson shared that choosing Bay was an easy decision from the start. “It was clear from the initial bid request that Bay would provide the product support we were looking for during the construction phase,” he said.
The Skyliner® system was chosen not only for its high-performance air and vapor barrier properties, but also for its visual impact. “In addition to the air and vapor barrier benefits, we chose Skyliner because of the finished look it provided
for the ceilings of the gyms,” Carson explained.
The black Skyliner® fabric, paired with black-painted steel, reinforced the traditional fieldhouse architecture while visually simplifying the complex open structure. “It helped to reduce the busyness of a complex open structure,” Carson
added.
With its sleek black appearance and top-tier thermal performance, the Skyliner® system contributed to both the functional and visual goals of the project. Engineered for safety and durability, Skyliner® is especially well-suited for large-scale
facilities like Kettlestone, where energy efficiency and visual appeal go hand-in-hand.
“Overall, we had a great experience with Bay Insulation Systems and are happy we could work together with them on such an important project for the Central Iowa area,” Carson concluded.
