Totaling 27,058 square feet, the new Saints Peter & Paul School And Parish Center in Seneca, KS, utilized a custom metal building from Star Building Systems.
Completed in August 2009, Star’s SMS structural framing system provides the structure of the new facility. The exterior materials include a StarShield Standing Seam Roof system formed from Galvalume-coated steel, Star’s DuraRib wall system in an Almond color, and MBCI’s CFW II wall system in a Brownstone finish.
In conjunction with the Star and MBCI products, brick veneer and wainscot are also highlighted on the exterior of the building. An R-29 Simple Saver insulation system was also used for thermal efficiency.
Utilizing a Star custom metal building was able to save the Roman Catholic Archdiocese approximately $300,000 on this project. The roof on the bell tower of the original school was removed from the old facility and was able to be used on the entrance of the new school.
The Star Builder and steel erector for this project was AHRS Construction, Inc., Bern, KS. The architect was Emig and Associates, Emporia, KS.
