More than 8,300 square feet of Metal Sales™ wall panels were used to outfit the new Fayetteville Montessori Elementary School in Fayetteville, AR. The school’s unique design and building requirements made it a great fit for metal cladding.
Due to environmental site restrictions as the first building constructed in accordance with the Fayetteville Streamside Protection Act, a tight budget, sustainability requirements and a five-month construction schedule, the school’s design needed
to be both creative and practical. To help achieve these goals, the project team turned to Metal Sales.
“We searched for a unique building material that would serve as a cost-effective and durable exterior surface with a long life cycle, while meeting the sustainable expectations of LEED,” said Meryati Blackwell, Project Director at Marlon Blackwell
Architect. “The T10A panel from Metal Sales meets all of these requirements.”
The T10-A box rib panels are coated with a PVDF (Kynar 500®) finish in dark bronze. The combination of the dark bronze metal panels and the warm cypress wood used to clad the school’s entrance gives the building a welcoming and sophisticated
appeal. The unique shape of the panels allows them to act as a wall surface, not just a traditional wall panel.
All panel colors from Metal Sales are listed with ENERGY STAR®, improving energy efficiency and reducing the amount of energy needed for cooling. The panels also have a long life span of 50 years or more, are 100% recyclable and contain a high percentage
of recycled material – contributing to LEED points. In addition to its products, Metal Sales boasts a 50-year history of outstanding customer service.
“Metal Sales has been a great partner on several of our best projects,” said Marlon Blackwell, FAIA, Architect of Record. “The Metal Sales team understands our vision, and helps to achieve that vision by providing samples and working
with us to solve the challenges of our custom details and designs.”
