When Frank’s Italian Restaurant (formerly Frank’s Pizza) in Wappingers Falls, NY began construction on an expanded new facility, they wanted a metal tile roof that would blend architecturally with the planned brick construction while also meeting tight budgetary constraints. “The roof that was initially specified proved too costly, and a web search led us to the Met-Tile system,” says Ray Travis, vice president of Mid Hudson Construction Management, the general contractor for the project. “By selecting Met-Tile, we were able to stay within the client’s budget without compromising aesthetics or performance.”

Located in the South Lake Union section of Seattle, Washington, Alley 24 owes its name to the fact it sits on a city block subdivided into four quarters by intersecting midblock alleys. Among the energy-efficient products used on the project were UNA-CLAD™ Custom Sunscreens from Firestone Metal Products of Anoka, MN.

Count the new EnerMax office building in Drayton Valley, Alberta, Canada in that latter category. With its heavy exterior stone accents and tower forms it appears almost castle-like. But clad predominantly with Reynobond® aluminum composite material and glass, it is also clearly contemporary.
