Buffalo Thunder Resort

The spectacular new Buffalo Thunder Resort, located 12 miles north of Santa Fe, NM, is designed to be a Four-Star destination and includes a 150,000 sq. ft. Las Vegas style casino, a 390-room Hilton Santa Fe North hotel and complete luxury and conference amenities. Sited on 587 acres, the resort is owned by the Pueblo of Pojoaque. Approximately 7,000 linear feet of Flex-C Trac® was utilized to create spectacular theming elements, soffits and radiuses. The Flex-C Trac system provides an easy way for builders to frame high quality curves by utilizing a simple, flexible metal track or plate for use with wood or metal studs.

Mercer Slough Environmental Education Center

Metal roofing and siding from AEP Span of West Sacramento, CA, was among the key products utilized in the design of the newly completed Mercer Slough Environmental Education Center in Bellevue, WA. The center is comprised of a series of buildings built into the forest at the edge of Mercer Slough. It acts as both a gathering space for nature lovers and an environmental education center for people of all ages. The project's architect was Mark Johnson of Jones & Jones Architects.

Private Residence - Central Virginia

Cool roofing metals are sustainable and energy efficient. But equally as important, these new-generation coated metals offer tremendous freedom of choice when it comes to color. At Sheffield Metals International—one of the country’s leading providers of roofing coil and flat stock to jobsite metal roofing manufacturers—the company’s COOLR® metals are available in a wide range of colors, including metallics and low-glosses. It was low-gloss Antique Black that was chosen for a large home nearing completion in central Virginia. The project’s 10,200 sq. ft. standing seam metal roof system was manufactured and installed by Blue Ridge Roofing Inc. of Charlottesville, VA.

Newseum

A sleek LandscapeInteriors™ metal fabric application from Cambridge Architectural elegantly dresses a gallery ceiling and building elevators inside the high-tech Newseum in Washington, D.C. The news-centered museum is located between the White House and the U.S. Capitol on the National Mall, and boasts world-class architecture from Polshek Partnership Architects. It houses seven levels of unparalleled artifacts, media and interactive experiences that tell the five-centuries-old story of news, highlighting both contemporary and historic issues.

WGBH - Boston Headquarters

WGBH, the nation’s preeminent creator of public broadcast content, recently consolidated operations from a dozen buildings into a three-facility complex in Boston, MA. Morin, a division of Kingspan Insulated Panels Inc., provided metal panels for the $85 million USGBC Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design® (LEED) certified headquarters, which includes offices, a 210-seat theater and an 1,800 square-foot performance studio.

Chapa-De Indian Health Clinic

Located in Grass Valley, Calif., Chapa-De Indian Health Clinic is one of three California-based clinics owned by Chapa-De Indian Health Program, Inc. A defining feature of the clinic—which was completed in September 2008—is a complex roof design that incorporates many hips and valleys, and very few straight panels, to create a unique appearance. Custom-Bilt Metals’ Titan Standing Seam SL-1750 panels were selected for the clinic’s roofs with a Titan Cool Roof coating in a Moss Green color.

Mid America Baptist Theological Seminary

After years of shared space and retrofitted facilities, Mid America Baptist Theological Seminary in Memphis, TN, has a brand new, high-tech campus building constructed to meet its specific needs. The 130,000 sq. ft. main building includes a 1,000-seat auditorium, 13 classrooms, eight lecture and seminar halls, dining hall and full-service bookstore open to the public. Approximately 34,000 sq. ft. of Petersen 18” Snap-Clad™ panels finished in Dark Bronze was utilized for the mansard style roof. In addition, 26,000 sq. ft. of material finished in Bone White was used for custom fascia and cornices.

Modesto Commerce Bank

Located at the edge of an expanding community, the new Modesto Commerce Bank, a branch of the Bank of Stockton, is a modern facility for a banking institution that is rooted in the history and landscape of California’s Central Valley. Playing a prominent role in the bank’s design are standing seam metal roofing — incorporating photovoltaics — and walls panels from Metal Sales Manufacturing Corp., as well as exposed structural steel tubing by Amerifab.

Private Home In Salt Lake City

This 10,000 sq. ft. home located in a prestigious area of Salt Lake City, Utah, features diamond-shaped copper shingle roofing, along with a variety of other hand-crafted copper products from Copper Exclusive and its founder Erno Ovari. Among the impressive array of products designed, hand-made and installed by Copper Exclusive were: diamond-shaped copper roof shingles, crown molding, soffit, fascia, gutters, snow hooks, finials and more. A total of 16,000 lbs. of hand-crafter copper products were used on the project.

Petroleum Traders Corporation Headquarters

Petroleum Traders Corporation, Fort Wayne, IN, is the largest pure wholesaler of gasoline and diesel fuels in the United States, delivering one billion gallons of petroleum products annually. A newly completed headquarters building reflects the company's success. Contemporary in design, its exterior features approximately 3,600 sq. ft. of Dri-Design rainscreen panels in a variety of custom modules. Fabricated from .080" aluminum, the panels are finished in Slate Gray and Charcoal Gray colors.

Greenwood Athletic Center

Grey Wolf Architecture of Denver, CO, had style, finesse and energy in mind when it specified approximately 5,000 sq. Ft. of Omega-Lite aluminum composite material wall panels for the exterior of the Greenwood Athletic Center in Greenwood, CO. Manufactured by Laminators Incorporated of Hatfield, PA, the Silver Metallic and Sierra Tan-colored exterior wall panels were installed by Sondrup Sheet Metal of Englewood, CO, using the manufacturer’s 1-piece, Tight-Fit moldings system. All reveal moldings were mitered at the 4-way intersections, providing a more polished and professional appearance.

USU Animal Teaching and Research Center

Situated in a truly majestic setting, the new Animal Teaching and Research Center at Utah State University’s College of Agriculture is unprecedented in terms of its design as well as function. Located north of Wellsville, UT, the 25,000 sq. ft. facility integrates programmatic functions of a meat harvesting facility, animal reproduction laboratory and veterinary clinic with classrooms to provide a hands-on learning environment. The striking structure utilized Metl-Span insulated panels on both the roof and walls. The 4”-thick panels were finished in Terra Cotta and Cool Zinc Gray.

Asplane LLC Medical Office Facility

Physician investors formed Asplane, LLC to acquire and develop a commercial property anchored by a medical office building to serve their pediatric and obstetrics/gynecology practices in Marion, Indiana. The site is large enough to accept a restaurant and retail projects such as maternity shops and a children’s clothier, where mothers can browse while awaiting their appointments. The design/build project led by Felderman Design Build, a Butler Builder® in Fort Wayne, demonstrates the potential for systems construction to be applied to image-conscious office facilities. In this case, Butler Manufacturing Company supplied two, Widespan™ structures for the opposing wings that were combined with conventional framing to create the center tower element.

Bremer Student Center

Approximately 4,500 sq. ft. of Citadel’s Envelope 2000® Rainscreen (RS) System was used to renovate the Bremer Student Center at Olympic College in Bremerton, WA. The $4.2 million project also included renovation of the college bookstore and meets the campus design standards for exterior materials which include prefinished metal panels, brick and curtainwall. The panels were finished in Atlantic Sunrise and Shasta White. The Citadel Rainscreen (RS) System is one of three Citadel-designed and tested installation systems utilizing Envelope 2000® metal composite material (MCM).

1600 Broadway On The Square

Tradition holds that there’s nothing quite like celebrating New Year’s Eve as the ball drops in New York City’s Times Square. For any number of residents of 1600 Broadway on the Square, a new 25-story residential condominium and retail tower located on the northern end of the bustling Times Square district, savoring the celebration is as easy as walking out onto their own private balconies. Alucobond® Aluminum Composite Material (ACM) by Alcan Composites USA was chosen as exterior cladding for the building as well as for the prominent signage. Approximately 68,000 square feet of Alucobond Plus in the 4mm thickness and custom Duranar Whale Gray color was fabricated and installed with a rout and return system by Kenneth J. Herman, Inc., of Amityville, N.Y.

Samso Energy Academy

In addition to private residences, the Danish Island of Samsø is home to the Samsø Energy Academy, a public entity that assists Danish and foreign scientists in sustainability endeavors. The Academy building itself is designed to meet ecological and sustainability principles and to that end, its roof is comprised of 6,800 sq. ft. of RHEINZINK® integrated solar Quick Step panels. They support 1,000 sq. ft. of photovoltaic cells and solar hot water generating panels that provide domestic hot water for the facility.

Allegheny Construction Group Headquarters

Allegheny Construction Group, Inc. has repeatedly ranked among the “Pittsburgh Top 100”, an annual recognition for the fastest growing construction or real estate firms serving that Pennsylvania metropolitan area. The Butler Buildership steadily outgrew its former location until Laura Deklewa, President, committed to building a new 9200-sq.-ft. headquarters office and mezzanine levels, and the 10,300 sq. ft. of support facilities in the Pittsburgh suburb of Bridgeville. The Butler building makes a graphic statement about the metal building projects that comprise a significant share of the general contractor’s projects every year.

Hopper Dennis Jellison Office Building

Located in Vancouver, WA, the new headquarters of Hopper Dennis and Jellison PLLC is a seamless blend of form and function. Built atop a first floor parking garage, the 17,500 sq. ft., three-story structure is light and airy, and creates a cohesive image that improves work flow for its engineering firm owner. Covering much of its exterior are ALPOLIC® aluminum composite material panels.

Robson Residence

With the 20-year-old roof shingles on their Rockingham, NC ranch home beginning to decompose, Jerry and Janice Robson began surfing the web for replacement ideas. They knew they wanted to upgrade to something better but had no specific products in mind until they discovered Met-Tile tile profile metal roofing. “When we saw Met-Tile on the Internet, we knew that was the look we wanted,” says Jerry Robson. Though it was the look that initially sold the couple on the Met-Tile system, it is the new roof’s impact on indoor comfort and energy efficiency that has them talking now.

Elegant expanses of metal fabric from Cambridge Architectural glamorize the exterior of a newly constructed $118 million employee parking garage at the world renowned Bellagio hotel and casino in booming Las Vegas, NV. The towering 10 story, 5,160-space garage features a Cambridge Architectural Parkade™ mesh application that maintains the European style of Bellagio, adding a chic, upscale flare. Mimicking the famed Bellagio fountains, the gleaming metal fabric appears to ebb and flow, gracefully cascading down the structure. At night, the mesh is bathed in reflected exterior lighting, creating a brilliant, luminous effect that complements the Bellagio signage.
