The ease with which Citadel panels can be installed was clearly demonstrated on the new Jehovah’s Witnesses Assembly Hall in Colorado. Construction of the 50,000 sq. ft. facility relied on trained volunteers to install 24,000 sq. ft. of Citadel’s Envelope 2000® Rain Screen (RS) metal composite material panel system.

Benchmark Buildings and Irrigation, an Architectural Metal System (AMS) Authorized Roofer, reroofed the Hawks Nest, a recreational center at Chowan University, with a new metal Standing Seam 360 barrel roof. The small private school in Murfreesboro, N.C., had a badly deteriorating roof; disposal of the roof was too costly and replacing the building was not an option.

Adamson High School alums in the Oak Cliff area of Dallas, TX didn’t want to see their beloved old school demolished. District officials and many others, however, were pushing for the construction of a new school to better meet students' present-day educational needs. To resolve the dispute, the old building was preserved—and is now an historic landmark—while the new building was constructed close by. Among the materials used for the new school’s construction were insulated metal wall panels from Metl-Span.

With Programs Plus, re-branding with ALPOLIC aluminum composite material is easier than ever. Flexx Corporation, a Cambridge, Ontario, Canada-based aluminum composite material fabricator/installer, used Programs Plus to order ACM material for the recently renovated Oak-Land Ford dealership in Oakville, Ontario, Canada.

The $127-million Baylor Charles A. Sammons Cancer Center in Dallas, Texas is an outpatient cancer treatment facility that receives more than 90,000 visits annually. The center, connected to the pre-existing inpatient areas of the Baylor University Medical Center campus by a sky bridge, provides a rest area for visitors and connects to the medical center’s parking garages. A sustainable project featuring architectural metal products from CENTRIA, this structure has received LEED Gold certification.

Ron Cleveland Construction Co. LLC, a Star Builder, wanted to show potential customers how versatile a custom metal building by Star Building Systems could be when constructing this office facility in Beaumont, Texas. The beautiful 11,526 sq. ft. office building houses Keller Williams Realty, as well as the construction company’s own headquarters. The facility was designed to withstand a 130 mph wind load.

An all-too-typical problem had surfaced in the Somerset Independent School District in South Central Texas: the junior high school built in 1986 for 350 students now housed 600. Enter a $13 million bond issue, Gamma Construction, OCO Architects and Ceco Building Systems, and now the students are comfortably housed in a spacious, extremely striking metal and glass facility.

Restoring a building to its former glory is a rewarding part of retrofit projects. Drexel Metals Inc. had an opportunity to be part of such an undertaking as the manufacturer of the metal roof system chosen to replace a failed one at East Lake High School in Tarpon Springs, FL.

Topped with an Englert metal roof, the new Maine Lakes Resource Center in Belgrade Lakes, Maine is the initiative of Docks to Doorways -- a coalition of Colby College and conservation-minded groups, including the Belgrade Lakes Association and the Belgrade Regional Conservation Alliance. The facility is considered Maine’s center for lake water quality conservation and advocacy. In addition, the building is a focal point for the community—hosting concerts, art exhibits, seminars and the region’s farmers market.

Maaten Construction Limited has been serving southern Ontario since 1953. The Sarnia, Ontario, Canadad-based firm’s relationship with Robertson Building Systems doesn’t go back quite that far, but at the 2012 Robertson Partnership Forum in Palm Springs, CA, Ken Maaten, the president of Maaten Construction Limited, was honored for 40 years as a Robertson Builder by the president of Robertson, Frank Fuca. Among the many projects Robertson and Maaten have collaborated on through the years is the SPS Trucking Repair Centre in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada.

We all make choices. Sometimes those choices can have an extraordinary impact on the results. Denny Sadowski chose to build his home sustainably. His goal was to build the most maintenance-free home possible while achieving a sophisticated look that would last indefinitely. By incorporating InvariMatte stainless steel from Contrarian Metal Resources, he made that goal a reality.

Befitting the form and function of the new $160 million TELUS Spark Science Centre in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, the project’s architect specified that the sign above the building’s main entrance be faced with metallic-finish aluminum composite material. To ensure that material met the highest standards of quality, the project’s ACM fabricator created the sign’s individual panels from 4mm-thick ALPOLIC/fr material.

Completed in May 2012, Marlins Park is the first ballpark in Major League Baseball to achieve LEED Gold Certification for new construction. Home to the Miami Marlins, the new park is located on the former site of the Orange Bowl in the midst of a bustling public transportation hub. A variety of architectural metal products from CENTRIA were featured in the facility’s construction.

Approximately 8,600 sq. ft. of Metl-Span’s Tuff Wall® panels provided the stucco-like appearance that was a key design component for the corporate headquarters addition to the Hitchiner Manufacturing facility in Milford, NH. Hitchiner is a premier casting supplier to manufacturers in the aerospace gas turbine engine industry.

Nowland Associates Inc.’s three building project for the Blood Bank Of Delmarva is an addition to a complex of three existing Star buildings which was also handled by the Newark, Delaware construction services firm. The new addition to the Delmarva, Delaware facility measures 8,370 sq. ft., for a combined project square footage of 60,000.

The new 14-story $654-million hospital building at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, IL stands out on the city’s skyline with a unique butterfly design and striking white exterior. Formable Alucobond® Plus aluminum composite material by 3A Composites USA was selected to realize the hospital’s shining, clean exterior image and its unique butterfly design.

Southern Tier Brewing Company in Lakewood, NY, has grown rapidly since its inception in 2002. It now produces more than 30,000 barrels of beer annually. One of the primary reasons for this rapid success is its owners’ attention to the consistent quality of its award-winning products. The company’s new building reflects that same close attention to quality and detail. Constructed with a metal building system and components from Kansas City, MO-based Butler Manufacturing, the structure’s architectural style also reflects its location.

The Centre for Youth Excellence in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, has an intriguing design. Its main feature is a Kalzip copper colored curved roof that arches its way down the wall to the busy street below. Built in 2011 and operated by Youth for Christ, the 53,000-square-foot facility offers recreational and support activities for all teenagers, many of whom are disadvantaged.

There were plenty of challenges associated with the installation of metal roofing on one of the newest homes in Belgrade Lakes, ME, but nothing the project’s accomplished metal roofing fabricator/installer couldn’t handle. C.O. Beck & Sons of Waterville, ME, installed the roofing on the 6,000 sq. ft. home, like so many of the homes in the exclusive resort area. And as is routinely the case with Beck & Sons’ projects, the contractor’s roofing of choice was Englert job-site rollformed metal.

The largest planned net zero energy community in the United States features more than 40,000 total linear feet of metal wall, roof and canopy panels from Metal Sales Manufacturing Corporation. The University of California, Davis West Village community comprises 205 acres with 662 apartments, 343 single-family homes, and commercial and recreational facilities.
