Maynard H. Jackson Jr. International Terminal

Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta, Georgia is the world’s busiest, hosting more than 90 million travelers per year. When it came to designing the new Maynard H. Jackson Jr. International Terminal, planners wanted to give passengers a pleasant respite from the stresses of air travel, while also functioning as a wayfinding system that helped people navigate its 1.2 million sq. ft. of space. Coatings from PPG are displayed prominently in the new terminal.

Tacoma Recovery And Transfer Center

One of the largest and most eco-friendly clear-span buildings in Washington state features more than 8,000 square feet of metal wall and soffit panels from Metal Sales Manufacturing Corporation. The 83,590-square-foot Tacoma Recovery and Transfer Center in Tacoma, WA receives, sorts and transfers municipal solid waste and separates recyclable materials.

UMass Lowell North Campus Parking Garage

More than 1,400 Dri-Design panels containing 3.3 million perforations were utilized to create an abstract design for one side of the new University of Massachusetts Lowell North Campus Parking Garage in Lowell, MA.

St. John’s On The Lake Expansion

A 21-story facility is the newest addition to the Saint John’s on the Lake Community. As Milwaukee’s premier retirement community, Saint John’s offers unparalleled views of Lake Michigan and the city skyline. Located directly adjacent to the waterfront, Saint John’s is a close distance to vast array of restaurants, museums, theaters and retail shops. CENTRIA products played important roles in the design of this addition.

Magdalena Grand Beach Resort

Location made the Magdalena Grand Beach Resort an attractive destination. But its ocean-front setting on the island of Tobago proved a double-edged sword. Salt water corrosion eventually took its toll on the Caribbean Sea resort, forcing the complex to close for two years for repairs. Among the repairs made to the property during that period was the replacement of its old roof with 160,000 sq. ft. of new Englert jobsite-rollformed metal roofing.

310th Space Wing Headquarters

The 310th Space Wing Headquarters houses the 310th Space Wing Staff, Security Forces Squadron and personnel from the 310th Military Personnel Flight and Mission Support Squadron. In addition to requiring roof and wall products that would stand the test of time, the building had to provide a clean, well-maintained environment. With the help of roof and wall products from Firestone Building Products, those edicts were met.

401 Lofts Apartment Building

The new 401 Lofts apartment project in downtown Akron, OH is geared toward young professionals and students. The upscale development includes amenities such as a fitness center, computer lab, 15-person movie screening room and yoga studio. Helping create a hip, stylish look on the development’s exterior were ProCore™ panels from Citadel Architectural Products.

Metal roofing and wall panels from Fabral were used in Atlanta, GA to create the Big Nerd Ranch Galactic Headquarters, home to the technology training and consulting firm.

Lightbox Dance Studio

With the mountains as its backdrop, Lightbox Dance Studio in Kaysville, UT, was designed to harmonize with the rustic setting. The 17,150 sq. ft. facility was constructed with metal systems from Varco Pruden Buildings.

NJ Corporate Headquarters Transformation

In 2008, an international pharmaceutical company began looking for a location to expand its North American headquarters. The client initially rejected a 770,000 sq. ft. building in Plainsboro, NJ due to its appearance. But that was before a $220 million renovation transformed it. Playing a huge role in the structure's new look and new lease on life were metal claddings and entry systems from Alcoa Architectural Products and Kawneer, respectively.

Integrated Medical Systems Birmingham Operations Center

Integrated Medical Systems International (IMS) moved one of its repair facilities into a newly renovated, 55,000 square-foot operations center in Birmingham, AL. The new facility features offices, conference and training space, and space for technicians to perform lab work. Its exterior is adorned with Sunset Red and Slate Gray metal wall panels from Laminators Inc. of Hatfield, PA.

South Texas Research Facility

The South Texas Research Facility is the newest addition to the University of South Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas. The length of approximately three football fields, this $150 million facility provides an additional 200,000 square feet of medical research space. Featured in the design are architectural metal products from CENTRIA.

Brady Storage Solutions

Located in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada, the Brady Storage Solutions facility consists of a two-story heated storage building and seven single-story cold storage buildings. Featuring metal products from American Buildings Company, the project measures approximately 46,000 sq. ft.

Gordon State College Student Success Center

Officials at Gordon State College in Barnesville, GA were looking to improve and expand on one of their campus’ key buildings, the Student Success Center. Working with a Smyrna, GA-based architect, The Facility Group, a plan was developed to replace 18,000 sq. ft. of roofing on the original building, and to create a 17,500 sq. ft. addition. For both aspects, products from Firestone Building Products were utilized.

Office Mart

Picard Steel Erectors (PSE) of Breaux Bridge, LA completed a metal-over-metal roof retrofit for Office Mart, an office supply business in New Iberia, LA, using Roof Hugger, Inc. sub-purlins. The overall project was to re-roof the combination of a Mex-Tex building constructed in the mid-1960’s and a Star building built in the 1980’s.

Slotnick Residence

The 4,800 sq. ft. Slotnick residence in Glencoe, IL is the first new home in Chicago’s North Shore area to achieve LEED Platinum certification, the highest LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) rating possible. It's also one of the few LEED homes to take a non-modernist approach to its exterior. Metal roofing by Petersen is featured.

Cooper Family Medical Building

The Cooper Family Medical Building in Bradenton, Florida is an 11,000 square-foot single story facility designed to reflect a tropical West Indies-style resort, using varied exterior wall materials, highly detailed exterior trim, trellises, open trusses, wood columns and last but certainly not least, standing seam metal roofing from Englert Inc. of Perth Amboy, NJ.
