East Aldine Satellite Center, Lone Star College

The Lone Star College system, with multiple campuses in the Houston metropolitan area, has added an onsite technical high school named the East Aldine Satellite Center. The 64,000-sq.-ft. facility features a contemporary design with a restrained palette of façade materials, including eye-catching metal panels from Petersen in two distinctive finishes.

Martin High School

Voters in Martin, Michigan were asked for more money to fund substantial facilities upgrades at Martin High School. By a 2-1 margin, they voted Yes, allowing plans to move forward for the construction of a new auditorium, a new gymnasium, new outdoor athletic facilities and more. Among the products utilized in the design and construction of the two new building sections were aluminum composite panels by Alucoil.

Vaultra Storage

Toronto’s Castlefield neighborhood is fashion-forward, filled with furniture manufacturers and interior design firms. The owners of Vaultra Storage targeted the area for their flagship facility, but knew that to support local businesses, the self-storage building had to look the part. Thanks to products by Kingspan Insulated Panels North America, it totally does.

Duende Bar

South of Buffalo, NY are clusters of empty grain silos and associated processing facilities. Artists, musicians and a new generation of businesses are gravitating to the area—now known as Silo City—and seeking to turn it into something new and different. One of the businesses located there is Duende, a bar and event space whose décor is comprised of a mix of old and new materials, including texturized metal from Rigidized® Metals Corporation.

Riverview Branch Library

The state-of-the-art Riverview Branch Library in Riverview, Florida, won the first-place award for the commercial roofs category in ATAS International’s 2020 project of the year competition. Field-Lok standing seam metal roof panels, manufactured by ATAS in Dove Grey .040 aluminum, were installed on the new library.

Charlotte Regional Realtor Association Headquarters

The Charlotte Regional Realtor Association (CRRA) asked Little Diversified Architectural Consulting, Charlotte, to design a new headquarters adjacent to its previous site. The group wanted a space that was iconic and inviting to its members and the real-estate industry. Dri-Design Wall Panels were selected to clad the building because metal best supported the design concept, performance requirements and budget considerations.

Borkholder Tiny Homes

Hurricanes and earthquakes in Haiti inspired Dwayne Borkholder to design a durable, compact and affordable home kit that would help providing quality housing to the masses, quickly and affordably. Borkholder is hoping that someday, his Net Zero post-frame “Tiny Homes,” can provide a humanitarian solution. The Tiny Homes are constructed for strength and energy efficiency, with durable products like the Multi-Rib metal roof and wall panels from McElroy Metal.

House Of Four Gables

Transforming a 140-year-old carriage house for the next century, Steven Fong Architect reinvented the Woodlawn residence of southern Ontario with contemporary style and resilient materials using RHEINZINK-GRANUM architectural grade zinc from RHEINZINK America Inc. Now called the "House of Four Gables," the 1,205-square-foot, two-story home maximizes the floorspace inside within the lot's tight borders.

Partnership Building 3, Wichita State University

Developers of Wichita State University’s Innovation Campus have turned what was once the school’s golf course into a magnet for technology and manufacturing R&D leaders. Partnership Building 3 is one of the latest additions to the campus, and its contemporary façade highlights the versatility of metal wall panels from Petersen as it incorporates three different panel profiles into one coherent design.

Elysian Beach Resort Reroof

The beautiful Elysian Beach Resort is located on the eastern end of St. Thomas. In 2017, Hurricanes Irma and Maria created catastrophic damage on the island, including the destruction of many roofs, causing the resort to close. The existing composite tile roofing material on the resort’s buildings was replaced with aluminum Ascot White CastleTop shingles, manufactured by ATAS International.

Dymon Storage - Brampton

Dymon Storage’s new facility in Brampton, Ontario, CAN is a prime example of how self-storage is evolving to keep up with the times. Breaking away from previous storage designs, Dymon Storage wanted a building that would disrupt the industry’s norms while bringing a sense of luxury to their brand. Through products from Kingspan Insulated Panels North America, they got it.

University Of Houston Baseball Clubhouse

The University of Houston baseball program has a new 20,645-square-foot clubhouse facility, complete with a locker room, training room, batting cages, players’ lounge, video area, observation deck and kitchen … all right next to the Cougars’ field. Insulated metal panels from Metl-Span cover the walls of the new Baseball Player Development Center and Clubhouse, providing an energy efficient shell for all seasons.

There’s always going to be competition when you’re bidding on a high-visibility re-roofing job. Sam Mott, owner of Wimberley Roofing in Wimberley, Texas, is not one to shy away from a little competition. After being awarded the contract, he made an old condominium shine again, with the help of metal roofing from McElroy Metal.

Charles Condominiums Parking Garage

The architects behind The Charles Condominiums in Atlanta’s high-class Buckhead neighborhood created a unique screen for the building’s multi-floor parking area using perforated metal panels from Petersen and creatively positioned lights. In the process, they turned an otherwise unattractive garage into a visual boon for building residents and their nearby neighbors.
