Westin Jackson

The Westin Jackson is a 203-room hotel located near key downtown attractions in Jackson, MS. The building design communicates the area’s deep musical heritage with the help of CENTRIA products, metaphorically celebrating the birthplace of the Delta Blues and nodding to the music’s instrumentation, rhythm, and multi-layered composition.

Cade Museum For Creativity + Invention

A museum devoted to exploring and expanding creativity must have an eye-catching design, and that’s certainly the case for the recently opened Cade Museum for Creativity + Invention in Gainesville, Fla. With its cylindrical core and extending arcs, it almost appears to be in motion – a sense of movement reinforced by the running lines of the structure’s corrugated metal wall and roof panels from Petersen.

Manitowish Waters Boathouse

When quality design, quality materials and quality fabrication are combined, the results are bound to be impressive. And in northern Wisconsin, in the woods near Manitowish Waters, the proof can be seen in a newly constructed, rustically-styled boathouse. The zinc roofing and trim featured on it was fabricated by Sheet Metal Supply of Mundelein, IL.

Clearwater Ice Arena

When the owner of the Clearwater Ice Arena wanted to expand the current building, hoping to lure the local National Hockey League team into a state-of-the-art practice facility, constructing an energy-efficient building was among the top considerations. Insulated metal panels (IMPs) from Metl-Span provided the solution with the desired R-value, while offering single-pass construction to help erect the building quicker and with less expense.

United Bank Main Branch

United Bank’s branch and corporate office has been a staple in Grand Rapids, MI, for years. Bank executives recently wanted to improve the banking experience and its headquarters functionality at the dated site with an exterior and interior renovation. Citadel Architectural Products’ Envelope 2000® metal composite material (MCM), installed using the RainScreen (RS) attachment system, was selected for the exterior.

Concrete By Design

For two years, work at Concrete by Design in Montgomery, Ala., had been accomplished under often brutally hot conditions. Employees in the metal building were regularly dealing with heat up to 130 degrees Fahrenheit on hot summer days. The temperature was dramatically reduced by installing the Retrofit MBI System from Covertech, manufacturer of rFOIL reflective insulation.

Bell County Expo Equestrian Center

The Bell County Expo Equestrian Center is an equine livestock complex that is located on the west side of the expo campus in Belton, Texas. Featuring Rigid Frame, Continuous Beam and WideBay framing by Varco Pruden Buildings, the new facility measures 170,440 sq. ft.

Edgewater Civic Center

The city of Edgewater, Colorado, recently opened a new civic center. The 55,000 square-foot building puts city offices, the police department, a municipal library, and a recreation and fitness center all under one roof. Key to the building's efficiency and sustainability was the utilization of the KarrierPanel barrier wall system from Kingspan Insulated Panels -North America.

RHEINZINK America, Inc.and Fairview Architectural North America collaborated to provide architectural zinc wall cladding systems on 70 Charlton St., a new 22-story luxury residential building in New York City.

Des Moines Aviation Academy

It's pretty unusual to see large aircraft being transported through city streets, but the move to a new facility prompted the ground transfer of several helicopters and airplanes belonging to the Des Moines Aviation Academy in Des Moines, IA. What isn't unusual is the make of the hydraulic door chosen to protect those aircraft once they were moved to their new hangar. It was manufactured by Schweiss Doors, one of the nation's leading providers of bifold and hydraulic doors for the aviation sector.

Sam Houston Elementary School

Situated on the Gulf Coast of Texas just east of Houston, Port Arthur is a picturesque location that also faces natural challenges like 2017’s Hurricane Harvey. With that in mind, when the Port Arthur Independent School District passed a $190 million bond issue and was planning the construction of two new elementary schools, they chose The Garland Company Inc.'s R-Mer Shield for the metal roofs.

M&T Bank Stadium Enhancements

When Baltimore Ravens fans attended this year’s first home game, they were greeted by several new enhancements at M&T Bank Stadium that include a series of Cambridge Architectural metal mesh panels etched with a signature ravens wing on the building’s façade.

Niche 905

When passersby stroll through Chicago’s Near North neighborhood, they might take pause at Niche 905, an 18-story residential tower. Chicago is not in short supply of high rises, but this one is grabbing attention for its functional garage ventilation screen that also acts as art. Dri-Design’s Tapered Series Panels were perforated and installed to add sculptural art to the building with dimension and playful shadows.

UPMC Logan Medical Center

CENTRIA Concept Series single-skin rainscreen panels enabled the design team with WTW Architects to create a clean, contemporary aesthetic at the new UPMC Logan Medical Center in Altoona, PA. The facility provides advanced outpatient services, primary care, and diagnostic services to communities in the Altoona region.

Quora Education Center

The new Quora Education Center in Little Canada, Minn., celebrated its grand opening in August 2018 as the latest educational facility in Minnesota's Northeast Metro 916 Intermediate School District designed specifically to address the sensory needs of students receiving special education services. Aluminum composite material (ACM) cladding from 3A Composites USA was utilized in the design.

And a new waterfront restaurant quickly became a popular destination that is easy to find, even without GPS, thanks to a standout metal roof finished in Petersen’s impossible-to-miss Copper Penny hue.

Insulated metal panels from Metl-Span were specified to provide a more modern look to the two-story Middlesex Turnpike office building in Bedford, Mass. The owner wanted to escort the facility, erected in the 1970s, into the 21st century.

Feldmeier Equipment Co.

The new corporate headquarters and manufacturing facility for Feldmeier Equipment in Syracuse, New York is a hybrid structure that combines a 103,000 sq. ft. custom engineered metal building system for manufacturing, by Varco Pruden Buildings, with a 22,500 sq. ft. conventional building that houses office and support areas.

Living Word Community Church

The multi-level curved Field-Lok and sloping Dutch Seam metal roofing panels, installed on the Living Word Community Church in Red Lion, PA, caught the judges’ eyes. This resulted in first place for the category of commercial roofs in ATAS International’s project of the year awards for 2018.

Aggie Village

As the newest apartment complex on Colorado State University’s Fort Collins campus, Aggie Village had to be something special to attract undergraduate and graduate students to live on campus. The design team based its vision on LEED Gold buildings that foster rejuvenation while feeling like home. For the exterior, a curtainwall look was created with the more economical option of SinoCore®, a field-assembled cladding system from Citadel Architectural Products.
