Navy Federal Credit Union - St. Marys, GA

The Navy Federal Credit Union is in the middle of a growth spurt that is seeing it build an average of 20 new branches every year. Serving all branches of the U.S. armed forces, along with Department of Defense employees and military veterans, the organization had approximately 8 million customers at the end of 2018. A new branch opened in St. Marys, Ga. - featuring aluminum roofing by Petersen - is emblematic of the influence Southern coastal design has had on NFCU’s newer facilities in the region.

Habitat ReStore - Kenner, LA

The new Habitat ReStore facility in Kenner, Louisiana features Rigid Frame construction by Varco Pruden Buildings. Recognizing the innovative design and quality of workmanship, the 25,000 sq. ft. structure was selected as the winner in the Retail category of the 2020 Varco Pruden Hall of Fame Awards.

A local dental office. Sounds like your typical run-of-the-mill design/build project, right? But the design for Family Dental Care Of Lemoore was no ordinary design. The facility's design was so successful that it was named the 2018 Star Building Systems Master Builder Award Winner of the Health-Related Category.

Amon Creek Elementary School

A well-designed school should foster a functional learning and work environment for students and staff while being a positive design element for the community. Amon Creek Elementary is the latest addition to the Kennewick School District in Richland, WA. The design team at MMEC Architecture, Spokane, WA, turned to Citadel Architectural Products’ Envelope 2000® RainScreen (RS) metal composite material (MCM) panels to create an inviting school with defined spaces.

Mountain View Corporate Center

To attract and retain high-tech tenants at the Mountain View Corporate Center, the development's new owners updated three concrete buildings to include attractive modern metal facades. The 23,000 sq. ft. of Copper Anodize aluminum wall panels utilized on the project were fabricated at the Fontana, CA plant of Morin Corporation, anodized by Wausau, WI-based Linetec and then shipped directly to the job site for installation by Sheet Metal Systems (SMS) of Hollister, CA.

Salk Middle School

With energy efficiency and aesthetics both important considerations, the designers of the new Salk Middle School in Spokane, WA, chose products from Kingspan Insulated Panels - North America as major components of construction. The project's first phase of construction utilized Kingspan's BENCHMARK Designwall 2000 panels while the second phase incorporated the company's KarrierPanel backup wall system under corrugated siding.

Venice, CA Rental Home

Venice, CA is a buzzing beach town with its own unique vibe. Not far from the free-spirited Venice Boardwalk, Muscle Beach, funky shops, stylish boutiques and foodie hotspots, is a quaint, new-construction modernistic home designed by architect Matthew Royce. This envy-inducing split-level rental home, which is also owned by the architect, melds indoor living with outdoor space through the incorporation of a custom-made Schweiss one-piece hydraulic designer door.

Eddyfi Technologies World Headquarters

Eddyfi Technologies’ world headquarters building in Quebec City is a model of contemporary architecture, biophilic design and sustainable materials – from the generous application of locally sourced wood and use of large, triple-glazed windows, to the selection of solvent-free PPG Coraflon coatings to protect and embellish its muted aluminum cladding.

Kimbrough Animal Hospital

The new Kimbrough Animal Hospital in Longview, Texas, was born of tragedy. A fire in the hospital’s previous building destroyed that structure. In the plans to rebuild, the owner wanted the highest level of fire protection, along with a design that reflected the area’s agricultural heritage and the journey he’d taken to create a new facility from the ashes of the old. Metal roof and wall panels from Petersen helped with both goals.

Plano Material Recovery Facility

Situated in Plano, TX, the new Plano Material Recovery Facility combines Varco Pruden Buildings' Rigid Frame and WideBay framing systems with conventional/custom steel construction. The 71,844 sq. ft. facility was selected as the winner of the Government category in the 2020 Varco Pruden Hall Of Fame presentation.

Sargent Family Community Center

The power of a community center is dependent on the initiative of the community and the performance of the center. In Presque Isle, Maine, the Sargent Family Community Center is a recent addition that has changed how the community gathers, plays and develops. The new center, which replaces a smaller 1940’s structure in need of renovations, welcomes residents from the moment the building is in sight. Helping to grab their attention are the building's metal wall panels--Panel 20® by Citadel Architectural Products.

Superior Fireworks

The owner of Superior Fireworks in Orange Park, Fla., put his trust in his design/build firm and ended up with a new facility that met all of his needs and came in at budget. The new facility houses a retail outlet as well as a large warehouse and shipping area, so aesthetics was an important consideration. The owner was seeking a stucco look on the exterior of the building. Insulated metal panels (IMPs) from Metl-Span provided the desired finish at a lower price.

Growth and expansion have defined the ongoing evolution at the University of Houston-Clear Lake (UHCL) during recent years. The transition from a commuter school for continuing education into a four-year campus with resident students created the need for a recreation and wellness facility that serves as a campus landmark. With the help of material from McElroy Metal, the school now has it.

Halo Branded Solutions Headquarters

Combining two building locations onto a new site, the single-story Halo Branded Solutions headquarters houses approximately 500 employees in an open office environment separated by different ceiling heights and freestanding structures such as conference rooms. Using long bay truss purlins by Star Building Systems to create the structure, Winter Construction Inc. was able to complete the 157,000 square foot facility in twelve months.

UMass-Amherst Design Building

At the University of Massachusetts Amherst, a new Design Building has brought together previously dispersed departments in a LEED Gold structure that is integrated with the campus’ material palette. Leers Weinzapfel Associates, Boston, selected materials that speak to Amherst’s rural environment, particularly timber and metal. The team chose Dri-Design Wall Panels in a copper anodized finish to create a truly unique look.
