The Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento lays claim to being the oldest continuously operating museum in the Western United States. Yet the museum's best days may be ahead, thanks in part an ambitious renovation and expansion plan that saw 100,000 sq. ft. of new space added. Juxstaposed with the Crocker Art Gallery, family mansion and various additions through the years, the new volume is itself a modern work of art. It is clad with aluminum plate panels and Flat-Lock panels from RHEINZINK America Inc.

Back in 2005, Bridgestone officials began exploring the idea of converting one of the original Firestone campus buildings into a new state-of-the-art technology center at the Akron, Ohio campus. They found the perfect spot and ultimately built the new four-story, 262,000 sq. ft. Bridgestone Technology Center. Modern through and through, the building is clad with InvariMatte® stainless steel by Contrarian Metal Resources.

As part of the “Building A Better Denver” Bond Program, the new Denver Eastside Human Services facility serves qualifying applicants residing in the eastern portions of the city. The site for the new 54,000 sq. ft. building was previously an unused industrial lot. The facility provides family and adult assistance services as well as child welfare programs and boosts the area’s image architecturally, thanks in part to the use of DRI-DESIGN metal wall panels in its design.

Dating back to 1926, the Sarasota Yacht Club offers a high-profile waterfront location that is inviting to members and tropical storms alike. The club’s new 22,000 sq. ft. building is built up and replaces an on-grade structure that frequently bore the brunt of storms. The new roof is built to Florida Building Code negative wind uplift pressures of 130 mph and utilizes 23,000 sq. ft. of .040” aluminum PAC-CLAD Tite-Loc Plus panels by Petersen Aluminum.

Swiss Re, headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland, offers reinsurance products and related financial services around the world. It has offices located in more than 25 countries, including a new 80,000 sq. ft. regional office building in Fort Wayne, IN. Featured on the building's exterior are two types of metal wall panel systems from Citadel Architectural Products. Company officials describe the new building as one of the most energy efficient in Northeast Indiana.

This stunning 67,844 sq. ft. government building for the U.S. General Services Administration, located in the Mesa del Sol community of Albuquerque, NM, combines parking and storage space on the ground floor and offices on the second floor. It features Metallic Building Company’s Long Bay System® construction.

Alcoa Architectural Products’ (AAP) Reynobond Aluminum Composite Material (ACM) helped make it possible to achieve the dramatically sloping façade of the award-winning Seidman Cancer Center. Located in Cleveland, Ohio, the Center is designated by the National Cancer Institute as a Comprehensive Cancer Center. The Cancer Center was designed according to the U.S. Green Building Council’s (USGBC) Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) green building principles, and is registered for certification.

The practical goal of the new $61-million 21-story Student Residence Hall at Massachusetts College of Art and Design (MassArt) in Boston may have been to provide 145,600 square feet of on-campus accommodations for 493 students for its opening in the fall of 2012. But the unique design of the new Residence Hall - which is clad in 5,500 Alucobond® Plus aluminum composite panels - has met an aesthetic goal to set the building apart on the Boston skyline.

The 58,000 square foot, $23.5 million Niagara Warehouse and Office Complex in Lewiston, New York was designed to store materials, supplies and equipment in support of the project’s 2,441-megawatt hydroelectric operation. A total of 18,000 square feet of the three-story building were built to function as administrative office space. The project features a variety of roof and wall products from CENTRIA.

MetFab's custom metal craftsmanship played a key part of the creation of the Village at Odenton Station, a new apartment and retail center. This exciting project undoubtedly brought new challenges that MetFab conquered in order to complete this brilliant new addition to Odenton, MD.

Sometimes it’s the little things that count. Case in point is the Sorensen Station Parkade and Transit Terminal in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada. The design of the three-story parking deck was elevated significantly by the incorporation of a relatively small amount of 4mm-thick Prismatic-finish ALPOLIC/fr aluminum composite material (ACM). Burnt orange-colored Prismatic-finish ACM panels trim the structure’s curved rooftop canopy while multiple colors of Prismatic-finish panels adorn the parking structure’s sidewalls.

The City of Brampton located in the Region of Peel near Toronto, Ontario, Canada has experienced rapid growth in recent years, averaging a population increase of 20,000 people per year for several years. The large influx of people moving into the area spurred the construction of a new water storage facility and pumping station on the western edge of the region. Roofing materials from The Garland Company Inc. played a prominent role in the project.

Union Presbyterian Seminary in Richmond, Virginia is a study in conservative Protestant history. From the outside, the red brick Tudor Revival buildings reflect their historical surroundings while the interiors reflect growth, change and development. The Presbyterian institution has been redefining and transforming some of its buildings. One of those subject to recent transformation is the Spence Library. To help turn it into a state-of-the-art environment for teaching and worship, Glavé & Holmes turned to GKD-USA.

Chapman Sisson Architects of Huntsville collaborated with Banker Wire, a worldwide leader in the manufacture of wire mesh for architectural and industrial applications, to design attractive and unique mesh panels for the front of a new parking structure at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. The material selected for the panels was Banker Wire’s M13Z-145 architectural woven wire mesh, a heavy, large scale, and rigid cable weave design.

The Alliance Safety Council in Baton Rouge, LA is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to improving safety in the workplace. Although initially providing services only in Louisiana, members have taken the organization to a broader market through nationwide safety programs. A new 32,000 sq. ft. headquarters helps the organization meet its goals both locally and beyond. Featured on the building’s exterior are metal composite material wall panels from Citadel Architectural Products.

Though paid for through private funding and student fees, there was no need to skimp on quality as far as the construction of the new Columbus State University Student Recreation Center was concerned. School officials raised $26 million for the project, guaranteeing the 106,000 sq. ft. facility had all the features students wanted and a look befitting its campus location. In addition to limestone accent walls, the exterior of the recreation center features ALPOLIC aluminum composite metal wall panels fabricated by Altech Panels Systems.

Two of Marriott International’s newest hotel offerings are the first hospitality industry projects in Arlington County, Virginia to earn LEED Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. The $119 million, 14-story Arlington Capital View Renaissance and Residence Inn were the first new hotels to be built in Crystal City in the past decade. Featured on the exterior of the two-hotels-under-one-roof development were sleek metal wall panels fabricated from Alcoa Architectural Products' Reynobond® ACM.

Conco Construction completed construction on the $3.3 million indoor sports facility for Cowley County Community College, located in Arkansas City, KS, in November 2011 using metal building systems from American Buildings Company.

The new Chapel Complex & Religious Education Facility at Fort Hood, Texas provides non-denominational space for religious and community activities. The 42,000 sq. ft. facility, featuring Petersen metal roofing, has received LEED Gold certification.

The Mammel Hall College of Business Administration building is a significant source of pride at the University of Nebraska-Omaha, and not just because it’s the first building on campus to earn LEED® Gold Certification. The $34 million facility – featuring a variety of architectural metal products from CENTRIA - serves as a striking gateway to the main campus, while providing state-of-the-art instructional facilities.
