Blending elements of pre-engineered metal building and conventional construction, design firm Aecom was able to devise an expansion plan for Nurse Chevrolet Cadillac that enabled the dealership to triple in size without shutting its doors in the process. The design firm’s choice for the metal building portion of the project was Robertson Building Systems and its local authorized builder, Winvalley Contracting.

For decades now, metal building systems have been established as popular choices for office/warehouse operations throughout North America. So it’s not surprising to learn that a 160’ x 162’ Single Slope framing system by Varco Pruden Buildings is the framework for the new Charter Communications facility in Rochester, MN.

A new entryway and spacious lobby welcome visitors to the new Patient Tower & Emergency Department at the Franklin Square Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. Designed to provide a pedestrian-friendly access from the parking area to the hospital, the new entryway and lobby brings a whole new image to the entire facility. With nearly 10 acres under roof and 40,000 square feet of office space, FlightSafety International’s new facility in Broken Arrow, OK is massive. The equipment manufactured at the plant–aircraft flight simulators, visual systems and aeronautical displays–is high-tech. Fittingly, so is the building's look, thanks to little touches like the addition of Citadel ACM panels around the building's entrance.

Metal roofing may be the material of choice in Tampa, FL - largely due to its capability to withstand extreme wind loads. A new term, "hardening", has come to the surface that defines the strengthening of a building's envelope (roof and walls). One example is the Dow Electronics facility which recently went through a hardening of its roof and walls. For the roof, Roof Hugger, Inc. of Lutz, FL was used because of its product's capability to strengthen the existing roof purlins and to increase the new roof's wind speed exposure.

Cooper University Hospital’s Health Sciences Campus in Camden, NJ, was renovated to accommodate South New Jersey’s growing demand for medical care. Designed with future growth in mind, the hospital’s renovation is the first step in a plan to revitalize the surrounding urban area. The largest renovation was an addition to the existing facility which featured metal products from CENTRIA.

The Butler Transit Authority’s new Intermodal Transit Center was commissioned as the first LEED Certified transit facility in the state of Pennsylvania, achieving a silver rating. Located in Butler, Pennsylvania, the project features Rigid Frame metal systems from Varco Pruden Buildings.

The recently completed Lady Bird Johnson Middle School in Irving, Texas holds the distinction of being the largest net zero public school in the country, the first net zero middle school in the country and the first net zero public school in Texas. Helping the building attain its status was 72,000 square feet of Fabral products, including wall panels, flashing and trim.

Located in Pickering, Ontario, the Pickering Town Centre was renovated in 2009 and re-imaged using a unifying “leaf motif”. Featured at the six entrances of the shopping center, as well as on the interior elevator, ALPOLIC ACM panels were chosen to highlight the new additions.

The leaders of MultiCare Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup, WA wanted the building’s architecture, operational structure and interior design to reflect their philosophy of putting the patient and family at the center of care. Opened in February 2011, the facility - featuring architectural metal products from CENTRIA - includes a slender nine-story tower that doubles the amount of available space, creating a 357,000 square foot facility situated at the top of a hill with sweeping views of the surrounding mountain ranges.

A new segment of the multi-phase construction plan for the Annoor Islamic High School in Wichita, Kansas included metal building framing, metal roofing and metal wall panels from Varco Pruden Buildings.

When the metal standing seam roof over one of the skilled nursing facilities at the at Oak Crest Retirement Village in Parkville, Maryland separated, allowing water to penetrate the building, administrators choose to embrace the recently established “green” culture of the retirement community. The failing roof was retrofitted with a standing seam system by The Garland Company, Inc., avoiding a tear off and subsequently reducing landfill waste.

A diagnosis of cancer always brings with it a certain level of worry and uncertainty. That's why the doctors group behind the new Highlands Oncology Group Cancer Treatment Center in Rogers, AR, wanted their building to create a pleasant, welcoming environment. To that end, the building needed to have just the right look. After all, first impressions are important and new patients want to feel like they are getting the best possible treatment. Through the specification of Citadel wall panels on the building’s exterior, the building succeeds at sending that message.

The Plainfield Fire Territory in Hendricks County, Indiana responds to more than 4,400 calls annually. To provide better response throughout the Territory’s 45-square-mile service area, the agency recently constructed Fire Station 123. The 23,000 square foot facility is both functional and attractive, with an exterior design that utilizes three styles of insulated metal panel systems from Metl-Span.

Chemeketa Community College recently underwent $38.2 million of renovations that focused mainly on Building 8 of the college’s Health Sciences Complex in Salem, OR. The 74,00 square foot project revamped the facilities that house training space and equipment for nursing, dental hygiene and pharmacy technology students. CENTRIA products were selected to complete this project for multiple reasons.

Originally built in 1978, the South Florida Community College (SFCC) Theatre for the Performing Arts received a complete renovation, reopening in 2010. Now seating 1460 people, the interior glows with the contrast of brass architectural mesh panels–created with woven mesh by Cambridge Architectural–against red velvet trim and upholstery.

Inspired in 2002 by a mother’s dream of her departed 13-month old daughter, the Golisano Children’s Museum of Naples (nicknamed “C’Mon”) has been 10 years in the making. Ground for the museum was broken in 2009, and in February 2012 dreams became real as the doors of this unique facility opened to the public. Among the many materials and forms incorporated into the building's whimsical design was colorful curved metal roofing from IMETCO.

In January 2012, the 1,200 students of Virginia Beach’s Great Neck Middle came back from winter break to receive one last gift – a new school. Completed in December 2011, the over $35 million dollar project consists of a three-story building employing sustainable materials, the newest technologies, and an aesthetically appealing structural design. Among the materials used to give the building its modern look are ALPOLIC ACM aluminum composite wall panels from Mitsubishi Plastics Composites America.

The shingled roof of the Community United Methodist Church in Circleville, Ohio had been leaking in multiple areas for years, despite repeated temporary repair attempts. The congregation, frustrated with the constant leaking, rallied together to raise money for a more permanent solution which included standing seam metal from The Garland Company, Inc.

The Western Mental Health Institute is a 150-bed facility, comprised of six 25-bed units, using a “treatment mall” setup where patients spend most of their time each day in a collaborative classroom atmosphere. Here, they receive counseling, medication management, case management and other psychiatric inpatient services without unnecessary transportation to multiple facilities. The new building – featuring metal products by CENTRIA - is located adjacent to its historical predecessor in Bolivar, TN.
