Westminster Community College Gateway Center

Thanks to its modern design using a brilliant zinc-panel exterior that appears to float above a fieldstone foundation and vast expanse of windows, the Gateway Center presents a shining port of entry for students, many of whom are new immigrants to the United States. The zinc for the project, which is on the campus of Westchester Community College in New York, was provided by Umicore Building Products USA of Raleigh, NC.

Sheet Metal Workers Local 36 Union Hall

Charged with transforming the dilapidated manufacturing facility into a state-of-the-art office and training center was Treanor Architects of Lawrence, KS. It developed a plan for the project that incorporates the latest energy-efficient features including Metl-Span insulated metal wall panels.

Brookwood Women's Medical Center

The Brookwood Women’s Medical Center in Birmingham is the first hospital in Alabama devoted entirely to women. Designed exclusively to meet the needs of women and infants, the new 121,000 sq. ft. facility features 19 labor and delivery rooms, one water-birth suite, four operating rooms and 42 private mother-and-baby rooms with modern amenities.Incorporated into the design of the hospital's exterior was more than 14,000 square feet of Bright Silver Omega-Lite ACM wall panels by Laminators Incorporated.

Carpenters Training Center

With constant advancements and technological changes to the construction industry, it's imperative for carpenters to continuously advance their own skills in order to remain competitive. The Greater Pennsylvania Regional Council of Carpenters made a significant investment in a new training center next to its 42,000-square-foot headquarters outside of Pittsburgh, with the help of architectural metal products from CENTRIA.

Ocean City Arts Center

The Ocean City Arts Center began as a modest fitness center with racquetball courts, and also included a natatorium and library. Located in Ocean City, NJ, the community center’s continued growth in popularity prompted city administrators and the library’s board of directors to initiate several renovations and additions in an effort to create a true community center. A high-performance standing seam metal roof system from The Garland Company Inc. is now featured on the facility.

Missouri Gas Energy

The new St. Joseph service center for Missouri Gas Energy was designed to optimize energy efficiency, resulting in the project’s submission for LEED Gold certification. The 11,420 sq. ft. building utilized Rigid Frame and Unibeam Lean-To framing from Varco Pruden Buildings, along with modified fascia framing on the south eave to support solar-collecting panels.

Celebration Church

Everyone is celebrating the new Drexel Metals Galvalume-finish roof on the picturesque Celebration Church located in Kissimmee, FL. The DMC 150SS profile used for the roof is Drexel Metals’ traditional mechanically seamed metal roof system. It is applicable to both light-duty commercial and residential use, and is installed over a solid wood deck with a minimum slope of 2:12. The architectural profile also allows for radius applications.

An unorthodox curvature of architectural mesh–supplied by Cambridge Architectural of Cambridge, MD–gives the new Iron Horse Trail Pedestrian Bridge in Contra Costa County, CA an unconventional design while providing safety for people on the bridge and those in cars passing underneath.

Aloft Hotel - Chesapeake, VA

You won’t find Aloft Hotels everywhere, but someday you might. The chain launched in 2008 with the construction of its flagship hotel at the Trudeau International Airport in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Since that time, more than 50 additional Aloft Hotels have been built. Among them is the one in Chesapeake, VA. Completed in 2010, that hotel is distinguishable by the ALPOLIC ACM woven into both its interior and exterior design.

A beautiful 69,631 square foot retail center houses SofaMart, Oak Express, Bedroom Expressions & Denver Mattress for Furniture Row USA, LLC in Charlotte, NC. The facility is a great example of the aesthetics and function that can be achieved with metal building systems supplied by Star Building Systems.

EnviroTech Chemical Services

Metal building systems from Varco Pruden Buildings were the perfect choice for the construction of the EnviroTech Chemical Services facility in Modesto, California. The 19,343 sq. ft. project consists of a warehouse and supporting offices, utilizing Varco Pruden’s Rigid Frame and Continuous Beam structural systems.

Howard Elementary School

The flat roof over Howard Elementary in rural Howard, South Dakota, had been patched and replaced several times since the building’s original construction in the 1950s – each time with another flat roof. That all changed with the installation of a standing seam metal roof system from The Garland Company Inc.

Winchester High School Reroof

The community of Winchester, Indiana was in desperate need of a new roof for its aging high school. Teachers and students were coexisting in an interior environment that was wet, humid and had a repulsive smell. It was decided that a retrofit metal roof system would be the best solution for the existing problem. MBCI, a leading manufacturer of metal roof and wall systems, was approved as the supplier for both the framing system and metal roof system for the 108,000 square foot project.

Michigan State University - Brody Hall

Brody Hall, the center of Brody Complex in the Residential District of the Michigan State University campus in East Lansing, MI, was the first of seven buildings targeted for renovation. This facility not only serves as a dining hall for the 2,400 students living in the complex’s six residence halls, it also houses classroom, office and lab space. The Brody Hall renovation featured architectural metal products from CENTRIA.

In the automobile sales business, appearance is extremely important. With each model year, there are design improvements to both the outward appearances of the vehicles as well as the technology. For auto dealers, the need to offer an up-to-date showroom and service operations to their customers is a keen focus. Such was the case in Waseca, Minnesota where Deml Ford selected products from Varco Pruden Buildings to modernize their facility.

Lake LBJ Retreat

The design for a stunning retreat house on Lake LBJ in Marble Falls, TX was inspired by the site’s previous life as a fish camp as well as the expansive views, wind patterns and the generous tree canopy. The 3,000 square foot vacation home is situated at the heart of a small peninsula that projects into the lake. Durability and low maintenance were important requirements for materials chosen for the home’s construction, including the 3,100 sq. ft. of RHEINZINK® Graphite Gray Corrugated Sinusoidal Panels.

Carlsbad High School Classroom Addition

The completion of the new classroom complex at Carlsbad High School in Carlsbad, CA represents the third and final phase of a total campus renovation that began in 2008. The new complex, designed by Perkins + Will – Los Angeles, CA, complements the existing buildings, while adding a more contemporary look to the campus. Featured on the exterior of the complex are perforated metal panels from Morin – A Kingspan Group Company.

Loma Linda University Medical Center - Murrieta

The new Loma Linda University Medical Center opened in April of 2011 as a cutting-edge, 273,207 sq. ft. facility. The building, one of the tallest buildings in Murrieta, CA’s Inland Empire, includes a 19-bed emergency room, intensive care unit, labor and delivery center and a specialty Children’s Hospital. More specifically, it includes a state-of-the-art Pediatric Heart Surgery unit to support the medical school’s focus on that specialty. CENTRIA architectural metal products played a key part in the medical center’s construction.

Nurse Chevrolet Cadillac

Blending elements of pre-engineered metal building and conventional construction, design firm Aecom was able to devise an expansion plan for Nurse Chevrolet Cadillac that enabled the dealership to triple in size without shutting its doors in the process. The design firm’s choice for the metal building portion of the project was Robertson Building Systems and its local authorized builder, Winvalley Contracting.
