The opening of the massive new $1.03 billion Fort Belvoir Community Hospital at Fort Belvoir, VA marks the culmination of five years of interservice collaboration to complete one of the military’s largest and most involved medical Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) projects. In addition to glass curtainwall and terra cotta panels, the 1.27 million square foot facility utilizes on its exterior 120,000 sq. ft. of Dri-Design rainscreen metal wall panels, fabricated from 1mm-thick VM Quartz Zinc.

With a free-form ribbon of stainless steel weaving its way throughout the design, a recent addition to the Art Gallery of Alberta is itself a work of art. Known by many as the Aurora Borealis, the captivating metal ribbon was created using Contrarian Metal Resources’ non-directional, low-gloss, uniformly textured InvariMatte®-finish stainless steel.

Formerly the site of a bleak, surface parking lot, the Front Street Partners, LLC/Plante Moran Office Building is a five-story structure constructed directly on the scenic west bank of the Grand River in Grand Rapids, MI. Sustainability was a key goal of this project, with the building ultimately earning LEED Gold certification. Another key goal was a design that would enable the structure to fit seamlessly into the urban neighborhood. CENTRIA’s Formawall® Dimension Series® helped to meet those goals.

A new church, designed by Ziegler Cooper Architects, called for an MBCI metal roof system to provide a long-term roofing solution that was nearly maintenance free. As a result, the St. John Lutheran Church in Spring, TX is covered by 10,000 square feet of MBCI’s SuperLok® standing seam roof system. The 24-gauge panels have a Medium Bronze finish.

Berrien Springs School District's Virtual Learning Academy is taking public education to the next level. The recently opened facility, which offers area students both traditional on-site education and online courses, features the latest advances in technology, design and materials, including storefront systems manufactured by Tubelite.

The University Of California, San Francisco’s Helen Diller Family Research Building is a state-of-the-art research facility that provides a home for scientists investigating cancer’s basic biological cause. The building was designed to accommodate the work of researchers and clinicians who are dedicated to laboratory and clinical research, as well as patient care. The five-story building - featuring metal wall solutions from CENTRIA - was built according to LEED guidelines.

The Commodore John Barry Elementary School in West Philadelphia provides a vibrant learning environment for students from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. This new four-story school - situated on the site of the original school in a dense urban residential neighborhood - illustrates the successful combination of employing sustainable building practices and community involvement throughout the design process. Playing a key role in the design were Formawall® Dimension Series® panels from CENTRIA.

The Edie’s Crossing office condominium development in Saratoga Springs, NY offers the small business or professional person the opportunity to buy or lease high-quality, Class A space in a park-like space. The development's first building was recently completed and is clad entirely with insulated metal wall panels from Metl-Span. The product was chosen to give the 20,000 sq. ft. structure a high-tech look and sets the design tone for future projects in the park.

As a diverse, progressive beach community, Santa Monica, CA proved an ideal location for the building of a boutique hotel that is just as progressive in its use of stainless steel to surpass the requirements for LEED Silver certification. The new hotel features stainless steel shingles fabricated from Contrarian Metal Resources' InvariMatte® Stainless.

The new Star Motors Dealership in Houston, TX, was constructed to house prestigious car brands. The architects of the dealership designed the exterior façade of the facility to be as contemporary, chic and high end as the cars inside. Every aesthetic aspect of the building - from the pristine, white finish to the smooth, sharp angles and articulate landscape - harmonizes with the elegant and exclusive products and services Star Motor Dealership provides. CENTRIA’s Formawall Dimension Series was the obvious choice for the wall cladding.

The new St. Joseph Catholic Church in Gluckstadt, MS, has all the functional elements of a modern church, but within a building designed to reflect the parish's rural roots. Among the design features reflecting an earlier time are board and batten siding and an Englert standing seam metal roof.

Known for its innovation and visionary thinking, Lone Star College System is the largest institution of higher education in the Houston area and the fastest growing community college system in Texas. Its newest satellite center is located in Conroe, Texas and features metal products from MBCI.

The 29,120-square-foot New Orleans Regional Transportation Management Center houses the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) traffic management personnel and New Orleans Regional Planning Commission (RPC). Completed in October 2009, both the DOTD and RPC needed a larger space to help them improve communication among motorists and better utilize their current resources. A variety of architectural metal products from CENTRIA were chosen for the project.

More than 130,000 sq. ft. of Metl-Span CF36R insulated panels were utilized to reroof the eight-building Haughton Middle School complex in Haughton, LA. The 2 ½” panels were finished in Cool Bright Red and replaced a standing seam metal roof that was not performing properly.

Metal Sales Manufacturing Corporation, a premier nationwide provider of metal roof and wall panels for the building and construction industry, outfitted Hangar 25 at Bob Hope Airport in Burbank, CA with 57,000 square feet of T-2832 and TLC-1 metal wall panels. The Metal Sales exterior contributed to the LEED platinum facility, in addition to providing striking aesthetic benefits.

A new parking garage serving the George A. Purefoy Municipal Center of Frisco, TX features a modern exterior wrapped in versatile stainless steel metal fabric from Cambridge Architectural.

The Energy Interactive Fitness Center in St. James, Long Island, NY, is a workout addict’s dream, offering a unique interactive training approach supported by caring professionals who work hard to help members achieve their fitness goals. But that’s just part of the story as far as this new building goes. It is also a model for healthy, green building design and features an Englert Series 2000 photovoltaic standing seam roof.

The striking new Sixth Street Residence Hall at the University of Arizona in Tucson features a dramatic application of Dri-Design’s new Ombrae™ Imaging Technology. Ombrae was developed by artist and Hollywood set designer Roderick Quin and uses an advanced computer software system to cut three-dimensional pixels in Dri-Design panels.

NetApp, a company specializing in storage and data management solutions, purchased three empty buildings in North Carolina’s Research Triangle Region as part of their East Coast business expansion plan. Renovating Building 1 - to accommodate research labs, product development and customer service functions - was the company’s first priority. Metal wall systems from CENTRIA played a major role in the renovation.

During the 2010 Winter Olympics, the Creekside Community Centre served as a media and administrative centre. At the conclusion of the games the building was turned over to the City of Vancouver, where it serves as a lasting recreation legacy. The 45,000 sq. ft. facility exemplifies Vancouver's commitment to sustainable construction. Featured on the building's exterior are 18-gauge panels fashioned from RHEINZINK® material.
