ASU Walter Cronkite School Of Journalism And Mass Communication

Metal Sales Manufacturing Corporation helped create a stunning metal envelope for Arizona State University’s distinguished Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication in Phoenix, AZ. The 223,000 square foot, six-story, multi-level facility is home to offices, retail space, restaurants, 17 media-equipped classrooms, seven computer labs, and seven professional newsrooms. The building also houses one of the country’s largest PBS stations, KAET Channel Eight.

Jacksonville International Airport – North Concourse A

The Jacksonville International Airport planned a major terminal expansion project to provide for the needs of its airlines, staff and passengers. The execution of this long-term project is divided into multiple phases. Stage 3, the concourse replacement phase, focused on reconstructing the 40-year old Concourses A and C to increase functionality and design. In this portion of the project, North Concourse A, architectural metal products from CENTRIA are prominently featured.

Florida Blue Center - Miami

Blue Cross and Blue Shield’s Florida Blue Centers are designed to encourage personal interaction between customers and their health care provider. The Centers offer benefits consultations, financial planning assistance, and tools to learn more about individual healthcare options. The Cambridge Architectural mesh systems featured in the facilities serve appropriately as structural shields for protecting the Centers’ functions.

Westminster High School

With decorative appeal in mind, H & L Architecture of Denver, CO, utilized a variety of materials on the exterior of the new Westminster High School in Westminster, CO. Among the cladding materials were 26,000 square feet of Bright Silver Omega-Lite aluminum composite panels, manufactured by Laminators Incorporated.

Surf Mall

Reviving a historic site is always rewarding. But a historic reroof project is truly successful when those involved recognize that they don’t have to recreate history—they can improve it. The Surf Mall in Ocean City, NJ, recently became the enhanced highlight of the Ocean City boardwalk because of a new metal roof from Drexel Metals, Inc., Ivyland, PA.

McIntosh School Of Nursing

The J. Paul and Eleanor McIntosh College of Nursing offers a unique educational environment, created through a partnership between Northeast Community College in Norfolk, NE and the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Nursing. The 44,000 sq. ft. facility, which houses Northeast Community College’s nurse and nurse aid programs plus the University of Nebraska College of Nursing’s undergraduate and graduate-level programs, has a masonry exterior trimmed with aluminum rainscreen wall panels by Dri-Design.

Saginaw Valley State University, Pioneer Hall

Saginaw Valley State University's Pioneer Hall continues to draw praise from students, staff and the surrounding Saginaw, Michigan community. Not only was Pioneer Hall the first "green" building on the Saginaw Valley State University (SVSU) campus, it was also the first project in the northeastern and mid-Michigan areas to earn Silver certification under the LEED® Green Building Rating System™, thanks in part to curtainwall units manufactured by Tubelite Inc.

Hilton Baltimore Hotel

The Hilton Baltimore Hotel lies in the Inner Harbor area, a prime business, historic and cultural district in downtown Baltimore, Maryland, adjacent to the Baltimore Convention Center with direct covered access via pedestrian sky bridge. The 24-story hotel’s exterior features more than 200,000 square feet of CENTRIA metal panels. The building’s off-white and silver hues give the hotel a modern and upscale appearance and help it blend seamlessly with the connecting Convention Center.

Bertram and Judith Kohl Building - Oberlin College

The Bertram and Judith Kohl Building, the new home for the Jazz Studies Program at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, is a virtual rhapsody in Reynobond® ACM. Planning for a new building to house the rapidly growing Jazz Studies Program began in 2005. Recently completed, it is expected to soon become the nation's first LEED® Gold Music Studies building.

Lawrence Township Fire Department

Fire stations attract attention. Who doesn’t want to catch a glimpse of a shiny fire truck? In the case of the Lawrence Township fire station in Lawrence, Indiana, it was the damaged roof that was drawing attention, not the shiny fire trucks. When considering replacement materials, the firemen wanted a cost-effective durable product requiring little to no maintenance with a long life cycle. Familiar with DECRA Roofing Systems, one of the firemen brought in a sample of DECRA Shingle - a stone coated steel product - that was selected for the reroof project.

William R. Anton Elementary School

Metal Sales Manufacturing Corporation, a leading nationwide provider of metal panels for the building and construction industry, supplied 11,500 square feet of sleek custom T16-L horizontal and curved horizontal siding panels to William R. Anton Elementary School in Los Angeles, CA. The new 98,000 square foot elementary school houses 1,176 students in kindergarten through fifth grade and features 51 classrooms, an outdoor play field and an underground parking structure.

UTSA Multidisciplinary Studies Building

Rigid metal fabric from Cambridge Architectural, framed in sleek narrow panels, creates an eye-catching exterior wall and effectively shades the corridor outside the new annex of the Multidisciplinary Studies (MS) Building on the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) campus in San Antonio, TX. The annex, referred to as the MS Renovation and Infill, provides a new location for the University’s Business Auxiliary Services (BAS), which includes the UTSA Card Office, Parking, Transportation and Auxiliary Services Contract Management.

Camp Trillium Childhood Cancer Support Centre

The Spring of 2011 will be remembered for severe storms that occurred throughout North America. In April, violent winds swirled throughout southwestern Ontario, pulling down trees and ripping shingles off many asphalt roofs. One of the countless structures damaged that month was the Lions Club-sponsored cabin at the Camp Trillium Childhood Cancer Support Centre. The cabin was repaired by installing a new metal roof from VICWEST.

Hilldale Baptist Church Family Life Center

An extension of the Hilldale Baptist Church, the Hilldale Baptist Church Family Life Center in Clarksville, Tennessee was designed for recreation and fellowship. The facility houses a racquetball court, a weight and fitness room, a gym, a senior adult area and a large fellowship hall that can seat 800 people for banquets and 500 people for worship. CENTRIA’s Versawall panels and Formawall Dimension Series products were selected for use on the project.

Hilton Garden Inn - Santa Rosa

The Santa Rosa, CA, Hilton Garden Inn is located approximately one mile from the new Sonoma County Airport. The hotel features 90 rooms, a small fitness center, indoor swimming pool and hot tub, 1,000-square-foot conference area and restaurant. Chosen by the architectural firm to meet the building’s design plan, the Hilton Garden Inn features 29,000 square feet of Firestone UNA-CLAD™ UC-4 .032” aluminum metal roofing.

Central Community College Health And Science Education Center

The new Central Community College Health and Science Education Center in Grand Island, NE is the latest addition to the college’s expanding campus. Providing traditional classrooms, lecture halls and laboratories, the 44,000 sq. ft. facility features Dri-Design metal rainscreen wall panels on the building's exterior and then matching panels inside. In both places the .080” aluminum panels were finished in Crystal Ice.

Robert F. Kennedy Community Schools Complex

In addition to a few prized vestiges of the historic hotel that formerly occupied the site, the new Robert F. Kennedy Community Schools K-12 complex in Los Angeles is comprised of three grade-level buildings designed as part of a cohesive campus. One of the featured cladding materials selected for the project was RHEINZINK®. The material was used for both roofing and walls, providing a playful contrast to a material collage of painted plaster and perforated metals in a palette that combines white, charcoal gray, bright orange and yellow-green.

Formosa 1140

Metal Sales Manufacturing Corporation, a premier nationwide provider of metal panels for the building and construction industry, created a dramatic metallic façade for the new Formosa 1140 multi-residential unit in the heart of West Hollywood, CA. 12,900 square feet of Metal Sales’ perforated T16-E panels outfit the facility, creating a bright, unique and multi-layered checkerboard of sustainable materials.

Killeen Police Headquarters

The new 80,000 sq. ft. police headquarters in Killeen, TX enables the city to consolidate operations from four scattered buildings into one location. The $22 million facility more than doubles the department’s previous space and includes training areas, community rooms, and office and administrative space. Designed to complement the rural setting, building materials include metal panels from Petersen.
