Apotex Centre

The new Apotex Centre for the University of Manitoba’s Faculty of Pharmacy in downtown Winnipeg has become a distinctive campus landmark and provides enhanced connections with the Faculties of Medicine and Dentistry as well as the Health Sciences Centre. The bottom two levels of the 100,000 sq. ft. facility were clad with locally harvested aspen, Above that is a two-level volume skinned with RHEINZINK® Shiplap panels.

Canada House At Millennium Water

Three architectural firms were challenged by the Vancouver Organizing Committee to design Millennium Water: The Southeast False Creek Olympic Village in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, for its first use as a temporary home for many of the 2,600 athletes from 82 nations competing in the 2010 Winter Olympics. Alucobond® naturAL by 3A Composites USA was selected for cladding of Parcel 4, known as Canada House, of the Olympic Village.

New Hampshire Institute Of Art Studio & Residence Hall

The studio and residence hall facility for the New Hampshire Institute of Art in Manchester, NH, is now located in striking new and renovated facilities, featuring metal panels from Petersen Aluminum. The project involved relocation and renovation of the original Manchester High School, a two-story brick building constructed in the 1840’s, to one side of the site. A six-story steel-framed building was then erected adjacent to it to provide studio space and student housing.

Kosair Children’s Medical Center

The Kosair Children’s Medical Center in Brownsboro, KY is designed to bring a specialized level of care to children in the Louisville metropolitan area and surrounding region. To help give the building a kid-friendly look, Laughlin Millea Hillman Architecture of Louisville, KY, utilized a colorful Dri-Design rainscreen metal wall system on the hospital’s exterior. Featuring dry joints and 080”-thick panels painted Berkshire Blue, the pressure equalized assembly covers approximately 7,500 sq. ft. of wall area.

All-Star Batting Range

A sports and entertainment facility in Southwest Connecticut may have patrons wondering, "Is this an old-fashioned baseball park, or a modern-day place to practice my home run prowess?" That's because All-Star Batting Range is a prime example of how truly non-traditional a metal building can be. Located in Brookfield, Conn., the Ceco Building Systems facility sports an exterior reminiscent of an old-fashioned baseball park.

Plymouth State University Ice Arena

The Plymouth State University Ice Arena in Plymouth, New Hampshire includes a 4,000 sq. ft. welcome center component and stands as the “front door” to the expanding campus. The 60,000 sq. ft. facility includes an innovative geothermal system that actually creates ice as well as heats the building. Featured on the exterior of the building is some 15,000 sq. ft. of Metl-Span CF-36 Architectural Flat insulated wall panels. The 3” panels were finished in Metallic Silver, Regal Gray and Polar White.

Show Low Public Library

Advocate Lutheran General Hospital Tower

One of the largest hospitals in the Chicago area, Advocate Lutheran General Hospital is a 617-bed teaching, research and referral hospital, a Level I trauma center and home to Lutheran General Children’s Hospital, the only children’s hospital in the city’s northwest suburbs. It's also the Midwest's first LEED® Gold Hospital. Contributing to the hospital's environmentally friendly design was a Reynobond® aluminum composite material wall system. Reynobond ACM is manufactured by Alcoa Architectural Products.

Creative Technology Accelerator

The Creative Technology Accelerator is not only the first building in Dayton’s technology park known as Tech Town, but it is also the City of Dayton’s first LEED Gold building. The 42,000 sq. ft. high-tech facility will house companies developing business in advanced technology sectors. How appropriate then that the building is clad in part with an advanced technology product—a patented dry joint, pressure-equalized rainscreen system from Dri-Design. Approximately 10,000 sq. ft. of the .063” aluminum panels are featured on the building, in Sherwood Green, Sandstone and Patina Green colors.

Beimdiek Recreation Center

The Beimdiek Recreation Center in Joplin, Missouri is a retrofit of an existing structure and an addition. Upon its completion, the project soon won an architecture and design award and now sets the standard for subsequent construction on campus, while fitting in with the existing campus environment. Featured on the recreation center are vertical and horizontal metal wall panel systems from CENTRIA.

Long and narrow vertical mesh panels from Cambridge Architectural add a sophisticated, clean design and a durable exterior cladding to the newly-expanded municipal parking garage at the Minnesota BioBusiness Center in downtown Rochester, MN. A Cambridge Parkade™ architectural mesh system veils the east and west facing facades of the garage, sleekly dressing up the concrete structure.

Extreme Makeover: Home Edition – Lampe Family

Showcasing an impressive mix of aesthetics, functional layout, natural lighting and ventilation is the Oxbow Public Market - a specialty food and wine store in Napa, California. The market's enticing, yet functional layout was achieved through the use of a 19,815 square foot pre-engineered metal building system by Metallic Building Company, topped off by IPS RWP 250 insulated metal roof panels.

Malin Burnham Sailing Center – San Diego Yacht Club

Ronstan Tensile Architecture, an end-to-end specialty contractor of tensile architecture, provided its architectural rod systems to the San Diego Yacht Club’s new Malin Burnham Sailing Center in San Diego, CA. The sleek steel rod systems, which act as cross bracing and web compression struts, brace the center’s timber roof trusses. As a result, they provide both a solid roofing structure as well as a maritime aesthetic to perfectly complement the building’s purpose.

Westside Common

In Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada, Westside Common fuses elements of metal building and conventional construction to create an image appropriate for both its commercial office and retail tenants. Advance Design & Construction Ltd. of Medicine Hat, an authorized builder of pre-engineered metal building systems by Robertson Building Systems, designed the 360’ long x 86’ wide structure. Ground was broken for construction of the 30,120 sq. ft. building in November 2008 with completion wrapping up one year later.

University Of Quebec à Chicoutimi Arena de L’UQAC

The University of Quebec à Chicoutimi is renowned for its significant research in aluminum and metallurgy and is located in what is known as "the valley of aluminum" because of the area's large amount of aluminum production. It's fitting then that the school's new Arena de L’UQAC features a distinctive metal roof that extends down over one of the structure’s walls. The roof and its integrated curved wall were created using a combination of site-formed and shop-fabricated Kalzip 65/400 panels.

Bear Pause Theater

Business owner Kevin Larson and wife Sue decided their tiny town of Hackensack, Minnesota, needed its own entertainment, a business that would allow residents and nearby townspeople to enjoy a movie in town, at the same time building the economy of Hackensack. To bring their Bear Pause Theater idea to reality, they hired Kuepers Construction of Baxter, Minnesota, as architect and general contractor, using Ceco Building Systems products and expertise. The 13,268 square-foot pre-engineered steel building was completed in seven months.

Extreme Makeover: Home Edition – Gaston Family

Metal Sales Manufacturing Corporation took the national stage on ABC TV's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition on December 12, 2010, as the company donated its Stile metal roofing panels to the Gaston family residence in Pensacola, FL. Contrasting the stonework of the home and surrounded by Christmas lights, the roof tops off the house perfectly, exuding a warm and welcoming presence.

Hank Aaron State Trail Valley Passage Bridge

Used extensively by bicyclists, walkers, runners and skaters, the Hank Aaron State Trail in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, recently opened the new Valley Passage Bridge to guide users across the Menomonee River. Covering the new bridge is curved metal roofing from Floline Architectural Systems. The trail is named for legendary baseball player Hank Aaron, who began his major league baseball career in 1954 with the Milwaukee Braves and wrapped it up in 1976 with the Milwaukee Brewers.
