Private Residence - Cincinnati, Ohio

Approximately 5,400 sq. ft. of Dri-Design Panels in two aspects of zinc--VM Quartz and Anthra Zinc--were used to create a stunning design for a Cincinnati, Ohio residence. Design for the upscale 5,000 sq. ft. residence was provided by Jose Garcia Design, Cincinnati.

Bangor Housing Authority

The Bangor Housing Authority in Bangor, ME, inherited 95 buildings from the US Government. Built in the 1950’s, the homes were originally constructed for the local Air Force base to house enlisted personnel. Since the time they were built, the roofing on the buildings has been the focus of many construction projects. The current asphalt roof was installed 12 – 15 years ago, and upon inspection it was found to have problems with water infiltration requiring extensive maintenance and repair. Stone-coated steel roofing by DECRA offered the solution.

Firecreek Restaurant

Built originally as a saw mill and converted to a paper mill in 1881, the Brandywine Paperboard Mill had stood abandoned and dilapidated for years. Located on the banks of the Brandywine River in Downingtown, PA, the mill has now been transformed into the upscale Firecreek Restaurant. Playing a key role in the building's rebirth were two types of metal roofing products from Petersen Aluminum Corp.

St. Bartholomew's Chapel - Rincon Reservation

Custom-Bilt Metals, a company with a long history of environmental leadership through product innovation, and metal roofing contractor Unique Concepts Inc., announce the completion of a 5.7kw solar system integrated with standing seam metal roofing on the newly rebuilt St. Bartholomew’s Chapel on the Rincon Reservation, Valley Center, CA. The original, historic St. Bartholomew’s Chapel on the Rincon Reservation was burned down as a victim of the huge 2007 Poomacha wildfire.

Assumption Catholic Church

State Fair Of Virginia – Meadow Event Park

When the State Fair of Virginia sold its land to the Richmond International Raceway in 1999, the race was on to create a new site for the family event held annually in September. Following the purchase in 2003 of the former Meadow Farm, plans were drawn to construct the new multi-building Meadow Event Park. Its two feature buildings were constructed using metal building systems from Ceco Building Systems.

When the company needed to double the capacity of its Cullman, Alabama manufacturing facility, enabling the production, warehousing and shipping of cross-linked polyethylene piping (PEX), it turned to Wildeck products.

Bayside Village

Bayside Village is an off-campus student housing community in Portland, ME. The 200,000 sq. ft. building, serving students from any of six colleges in the Portland area, was designed to both stand out and blend with Portland's architectural vernacular. Among the products incorporated into its design was Citadel's ProCore™ plastic-cored composite panels.

Chemeketa Community College Center For Business and Industry

Solucent™ Fins from Cambridge Architectural add a visual and functional texture to the new Silver-LEED® certified Center for Business and Industry (CCBI) building on the campus of Chemeketa Community College in Salem, OR. The architectural mesh shading system lies perpendicular to the building exterior, creating a dramatic design while shading the structure’s windows.

George Bush International Airport Technical Service Warehouse

A proposed roofing tear-off of the George Bush International Technical Service Warehouse, as a result of Hurricane Ike, led to the specification of the Roof Hugger sub-framing system using a new trapezoidal standing seam roof. In lieu of tearing off the old metal roof, the Roof Hugger metal-over-metal system was chosen, saving much time and money. The new 18-inch wide by 3-inch high rib roof system was fastened to Roof Hugger’s pre-notched patented sub-purlins.

Weekends Overstock Warehouse

The use of color was an important factor in designing the WOW! building in LoneTree, CO. To complement the bright corporate colors on the building’s sign, Laminators Inc.'s Omega-Lite® aluminum composite panels were selected to define and accentuate the building’s entrance.

Campbell Administration Building

The Campbell Administration Building in Palatka, FL is an historic Mission-style building dating back to the early 1900s. The original tile roof had been supplanted by shingles as the facility expanded over the years. As part of the building's overall refurbishment, a local architect ordered the building reroofed with Met-Tile tile-facsimile metal roofing from McElroy Metal.

Mission Hospital Patient Care Tower

The new $153-million 94,000-square-foot Patient Care Tower at Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo, Calif., opened in November 2009 featuring state-of-the-art technology in advanced imaging and diagnostic services as well as patient- and family-centered care. General contractor McCarthy Building Companies, Inc., of Newport Beach, Calif., created a seismically sound tower exterior, which is clad with Alucobond® aluminum composite material (ACM) by 3A Composites USA (formerly Alcan Composites USA).

Walter Cronkite School Of Journalism And Communications

In 2009, the City of Phoenix, AZ, embarked on a plan to become the most sustainable city in the United States. It was with that goal in mind that Arizona State University built the 223,000 square foot Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Communication building in downtown Phoenix, providing new classrooms, office space and a home for local PBS affiliate KAET Channel 8. GKD–USA’s Lago stainless steel woven metal fabric was used to create sunscreens, bringing the sustainable elements of sun control to the building.

New York City Transit – Staten Island Bus Terminal

Adjecent a new bus terminal being constructed by the New York City Transit Authority was what some described as the "world's ugliest wall." Standing 30' tall and running some 500', the black-coated wall was abraded in some places and spotted with dirt. Charged with finding a way to cover it with a protective steel skin, and at the same time to improve the appearance, was EXTECH/Exterior Technologies, Inc.

University Of Hawaii Biomedical Science Building

In May of 2009, the University of Hawaii’s Biomedical Sciences building in Honolulu underwent a $1.1 million facelift and remodel. Included in the work, was a metal-over-metal retrofit utilizing approximately 18,000 square feet of new standing seam metal roofing. The new roof was installed over the existing vertical rib metal roof using Roof Hugger’s patented sub-purlins.

Oakland Museum Of California

In transforming the museum’s Art & History Galleries, 5,600 square feet of new gallery space was added and a 90-foot stainless steel canopy was added to the main Oak Street entrance to welcome visitors. For its consistent quality and excellent finish, the stainless steel chosen for the project was Contrarian Metal Resources’ InvariMatte®.

Ayala Bakery

In Springdale, AR, customers flock to the popular Panaderia Ayala (Ayala Bakery) to enjoy the Mexican-style sweets and other baked items. When the Ayala family opened their newly constructed facility in 2009, in keeping with their tradition of good taste, they chose a Met-Tile metal tile facsimile roof system from McElroy Metal for the roof.

Ridge Meadows Hospital

The look was important but the budget was limited. That led Kasian Architecture Interior Design and Planning Ltd. to use AD 300 metal wall panels from VICWEST on the exterior of the new Ridge Meadows Hospital in Maple Ridge, British Columbia.
