Washington, DC - The Equipment Leasing & Finance Foundation recently released the June 2019 Monthly Confidence Index for the Equipment Finance Industry. Designed to collect leadership data, the index reports a qualitative assessment of both the prevailing business conditions and expectations for the future as reported by key executives from the $1 trillion equipment finance sector. Overall, confidence in the equipment finance market was 52.8, easing from the May index of 59.2.

Multifamily Housing Starts See Increase In May

Washington, DC - Total housing starts declined 0.9 percent in May 2019 to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1.27 million units from an upwardly revised reading in April, according to a report from the U.S. Housing and Urban Development and Commerce Department. The multifamily sector, which includes apartment buildings and condos, increased 10.9 percent to a 449,000 pace.

AIA Billings Flat But Still In Positive Territory For May

Washington, DC - Demand for design services in May remained essentially flat in comparison to the previous month, according to a new report from The American Institute of Architects (AIA). AIA’s Architecture Billings Index (ABI) score for May showed a small increase in design services at 50.2, which is slightly down from 50.5 in April. Any score above 50 indicates an increase in billings.

Construction Input Prices See Slight Increase In May, According To ABC

Washington, DC - Construction input prices rose slightly by 0.3% in May 2019 on a monthly basis and are up 0.6% over the last 12 months, according to an Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) analysis of U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics data. Nonresidential input prices were also up 0.3% compared to the previous month and are 1.1% higher than they were a year ago.
