BYU Life Sciences Building

When Brigham Young Academy was founded in 1875, it was the equivalent of what today would be considered a high school. The ambition shown by the school's board of directors then can still be found in the decisions of campus leaders today, including the one to replace the institution's cramped College of Life Sciences building with a bigger and better facility…a facility that features ALPOLIC® material aluminum composite metal wall panels.

Cade Museum For Creativity + Invention

A museum devoted to exploring and expanding creativity must have an eye-catching design, and that’s certainly the case for the recently opened Cade Museum for Creativity + Invention in Gainesville, Fla. With its cylindrical core and extending arcs, it almost appears to be in motion – a sense of movement reinforced by the running lines of the structure’s corrugated metal wall and roof panels from Petersen.

Calcaire House

Officials in Boulder, CO are serious about energy efficiency. With the goal to have net-zero homes—homes which produce as much energy as they consume—homeowners there are turning increasingly to rooftop solar. This is good news for metal roofing manufacturers and companies like Colorado Springs-based S-5!, maker of a solar panel installation kit that facilitates the attachment of solar panels to metal roofs, typically without penetrating the metal panel surface or affecting the roof system warranty.

California Health Care Facility Inmate Hospital

When the CDCR bid out the new California Health Care Facility inmate hospital in Stockton, scheduling was seen as one of the keys to the project’s success, with logistics and accessibility being major challenges as well. California State University - San Marcos, Markstein Hall

Studies show that bright buildings can produce bright students. At the new College of Business Administration at California State University – San Marcos (CSUSM), they produce significant energy savings, too. That’s because the building, designed by Gail Bouvrie, AIA, of AC Martin Partners in Los Angeles, is one of the first buildings in the country to feature Solarban 70XL glass, a revolutionary solar control Low-E glass from PPG. Another PPG product, Duranar coatings, was used to protect and beautify the aluminum extrusions used in the window and door frames and other metal architectural components.
