Central New York Film Hub

Central Ohio Metal Roof Retrofit

A metalcasting plant in Central Ohio was the site of a different kind of roof retrofit in late 2012 when TopHat Framing Systems’ new Quik-Clip system was employed to facilitate the installation of a new Metal Sales metal roof over an old corrugated transite deck.

Donated time and materials made possible the construction of the Central Pennsylvania Clinic, a non-profit medical home for special children and adults. But that doesn't mean it isn't built right. Centre For Youth Excellence

The Centre for Youth Excellence in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, has an intriguing design. Its main feature is a Kalzip copper colored curved roof that arches its way down the wall to the busy street below. Built in 2011 and operated by Youth for Christ, the 53,000-square-foot facility offers recreational and support activities for all teenagers, many of whom are disadvantaged.

Cesar Chavez Middle School

Inviting, with clean lines and Arts and Crafts (Craftsman) style architecture, Cesar Chavez Middle School in Oceanside, CA provides teachers and students with room to grow. Designed by John Groth of Groth Architects, the facility can accommodate as many as 1,400 students. Located in a residential area, Groth wanted a roofing product that blended with the surrounding neighborhood, yet offered the performance of a commercial metal roof. Groth chose a stone coated steel roof from DECRA Roofing Systems, DECRA Shake in Weathered Timber.

C'est La Sea

This vacation villa right on Great Cruz Bay, on St. John in the U.S. Virgin Islands, has gone from eyesore to landmark, thanks to a major restoration following Hurricane Irma’s direct hit on the island in 2017. The owners have rechristened the home as “C’est la Sea”, which could be any Francophone’s utterance upon arrival. Its new, stunning blue metal roof from Petersen stands out against the island’s green hills.

CFB Borden Mechanical Engineering And Training Building

Supplying doors for military bases is nothing new for Schweiss Doors. The company has been doing it for years. Although Canadian Forces Base Borden (CFB Borden) didn’t have a need for specialty blast-proof doors that many base projects require, a recent building expansion project for its training school called for the type of bifold and hydraulic doors that Schweiss Doors is known for.

Chalmette High School Cultural Arts Center

The opening of the Chalmette High School's new Cultural Arts Center is another Katrina comeback story for the residents of St. Bernard Parish in New Orleans, LA. Designed for both public and school use, the center celebrated its grand opening on March 18, 2011. Featured prominently on the building's exterior are overlapping metal wall shingles. Overly Manufacturing fabricated them from Contrarian Metal Resources' InvariMatte® stainless steel.

Chandler Aviation

As a severe thunderstorm rolled across the Arizona landscape, a microburst came crashing down from the sky in a blast of rain, hail and wind. One of the buildings in its blast path was Chandler Aviation. The damage to the building was extensive. Its hangar door was ruined. As part of the repairs, the building was outfitted with a new, stronger door from Schweiss Doors.

Channel Mission Bay Apartments

No matter how strong the desire to keep moving forward, it’s best not to lose touch with the past. The design of the Channel Mission Bay apartments in San Francisco was able to merge the area’s history with its future through the use of products from Morin, A Kingspan Group Company.

Chanooka Healthcare Center

Morris Hospital & Healthcare Centers, Morris, IL has opened its new Chanooka Healthcare Center. The 26,000 sq. ft. facility provides immediate care, laboratory testing and diagnostic imaging services, while also housing physicians' offices. Approximately 4,000 sq. ft. of PAC-3000 RS composite wall panels finished in Reynobond Series 2 Bright Silver Metallic were utilized to provide the high-tech look. Fabrication of the rain-screen system panels was done by Petersen.

Chapa-De Indian Health Clinic

Located in Grass Valley, Calif., Chapa-De Indian Health Clinic is one of three California-based clinics owned by Chapa-De Indian Health Program, Inc. A defining feature of the clinic—which was completed in September 2008—is a complex roof design that incorporates many hips and valleys, and very few straight panels, to create a unique appearance. Custom-Bilt Metals’ Titan Standing Seam SL-1750 panels were selected for the clinic’s roofs with a Titan Cool Roof coating in a Moss Green color.

Chappellet Winery Barrel Chai

Looks were important, but performance was paramount. By utilizing factory-insulated metal roof and wall panels from Kingspan Insulated Panels for the construction of a new wine storage facility, a California contractor was able to give his Napa Valley winemaking client a building that was not only attractive, but also perfectly suited for its very specific purpose.

Char-Broil Reroof

Char-Broil, a division of W.C. Bradley Co., is one of the oldest and most respected outdoor gas-cooking brands. Located in Columbus, GA, Char-Broil manufactures out of a large pre-engineered metal building complex that has undergone many expansions. When a portion of the roof was retrofitted with new metal panels in 2012, Roof Hugger sub-framing played a key role in the project.

Charles And Rae Kane Center

Named for a local couple who have championed senior issues, the Charles and Rae Kane Center in Stuart, Florida is situated on a nine-acre wooded campus in a primarily residential area. Designed in the traditional Florida vernacular—with tall windows, plank siding and metal roofing from Englert Inc.—the center fits well with similar architecture and has a hometown, residential feel.

Charles Condominiums Parking Garage

The architects behind The Charles Condominiums in Atlanta’s high-class Buckhead neighborhood created a unique screen for the building’s multi-floor parking area using perforated metal panels from Petersen and creatively positioned lights. In the process, they turned an otherwise unattractive garage into a visual boon for building residents and their nearby neighbors.

Charles H. Sanford Fieldhouse

The Charles H. Sanford Fieldhouse at Colgate University in Hamilton, NY, is used by numerous school teams and the general public throughout the year. It has a steel framework overlayed with stone to blend in with other buildings on campus. It used to have a slate roof as well, but after years of problems it was recently replaced with a new standing seam system from Englert Inc.

Charleston Coliseum And Convention Center

If these walls could talk, it wouldn’t take long to convince visitors they are a signature feature in the renovation and expansion of the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center, Charleston, WV. Approximately 74,764 square feet of aluminum composite material (ACM) from Alucoil North America was fabricated and installed as those walls by Shaffner Heaney Associates of South Bend, IN.
