Atkinson Toyota Scion Renovation

In 2006, with the need for more space paramount, the owners of the 25-year-old Atkinson Toyota Scion dealership in Bryan, TX commissioned architects R.L. Payne & Associates, Inc. of College Station, TX to almost triple the size of the showroom, re-configure the service areas and update the look of their aging facility in accordance with Toyota's current corporate construction guidelines. The architect's design for the revamped facility integrated new and old spaces, and unified their look on the outside by creating an all-new facade using Reynobond® Aluminum Composite Material and other products from Alcoa Architectural Products.

Atlantic City All Wars Memorial

OGi Architectural Metal Solutions provided the galvanized and powder-coated PressLock Steel Fencing for the All Wars Memorial in Atlantic City, NJ. The All Wars Memorial Building had its grand opening in April 2008 after an $11 million renovation and expansion which was jointly funded by Atlantic City and the CRDA. The new playground addition required a secure perimeter fence that was visually open yet strong and durable. For this purpose, the company’s PressLock Urban steel fence configuration was used and installed between brick piers and as single- and double-swing gates with ornamental fabrication.

Atlantic Healthy Foods Processing And Distribution Facility

The new, state-of-the-art Atlantic Healthy Foods refrigerated produce processing and distribution facility will serve as the southeastern operations hub for wholesale foods provider Castellini Group, one of the nation's largest distributors of fresh produce. The LEED®-certified project features on its exterior insulated metal wall panels from Metl-Span.

Augusta Data Storage Inc.

Varco Pruden Buildings' Rigid Frame system was used by J.E. Stewart Builders Inc. of Aiken, SC to create the Augusta Data Storage facility in Augusta, GA. Designed by Studio 3 Design Group PC of Augusta, the 26,260 sq. ft. building houses offices and document storage that complies with National Archives And Records Administration regulations.

Austin (TX) Central Library

Recently, the City of Austin, Texas built an entirely new central library building to serve its citizens, and in designing the building, architects from Lake Flato Architects and Shepley Bulfinch chose perforated anodized aluminum from Lorin Industries, Inc. as a central façade design element.

Austin Community Recreation Center

Located in southern Minnesota, the new Austin Community Recreation Center offers locals an indoor playground, youth center and a relocated YMCA. It features a forward-looking, curvilinear design called out by standing-seam metal panels from Petersen that wrap around the two most visible elevations.

Austin Convention Center Parking Garage

Approximately 20,000 sq. ft. of metal fabric from Cambridge Architectural is featured on the exterior of an award winning project in Austin, TX, that's part parking garage and part cooling plant. The material was specified by the project's architect, Barnes Gromatzky Kosarek Architects, to create movement and bring the scale of the structure down to a more human scale. The metal fabric panels were curved and installed on structural steel tube framing to create sweeping vertical waves that sculpt the otherwise unadorned façade. At night, the structure glows a transparent blue green. During the day, the metal fabric allows sunlight to pass into the parking garage, and softly shades the sidewalks below.

Austin E. Knowlton Center

The Austin E. Knowlton Center at Baldwin Wallace University is a 46,800 sq. ft. facility designed by architects at The Collaborative, Toledo, OH with input from various STEM industry experts. Besides meeting ambitious programmatic requirements, the architect created a fitting look for the new building through its incorporation of ACM panels from Laminators Inc. inside and out.

Austin Hall

Some roofers are simply cut out to do their thing in the spotlight. Empire Roofing of Austin, Texas is one of them. The firm executed the removal of an existing leaking stainless-steel metal roof and the installation of McElroy Metal’s 238T symmetrical copper standing seam roofing system on a historic centerpiece building on the campus of Sam Houston State University.

Austin Independent School District Performing Arts Center

The magnificent new Austin Independent School District Performing Arts Center has drawn rave reviews from all quarters. The 62,000 sq. ft. facility, featuring metal panels from Petersen, serves all Austin ISD schools and offers a 1,200-seat auditorium that will host concerts and theatrical performances in a 250-seat black box theatre and 100-seat multipurpose room.

Varco Pruden Builder™ EPOC Construction Inc., a Virginia-based commercial construction company, transformed a dated and weathered automobile repair shop into a top-notch facility for Auto Tech Repair in Newport News, Virginia. In this case, a better building emerged from the skeleton of an old one, proving that salvage can sometimes trump starting from scratch.

Auto-Owners Insurance Kentucky Claims Office

Auto-Owners Insurance is one of the nation’s leading property and casualty insurers in the United States. The company is represented by approximately 37,000 agents in more than 6,200 agencies around the country, with claims and underwriting staff operating out of regionally based offices located throughout the country. In Kentucky, the company's employees recently moved into a new 18,000 sq. ft. claims center. Reflecting the agrarian and equine architecture common to the state, the building is topped with a Hartford Green Englert metal roof.

Avalon Communities Apartments

Cambridge Architectural's Tile and Circuit 141A architectural metal mesh patterns were used in the elevators of a pair recently constructed New York City apartment buildings. At Avalon Chrystie Place, in the heart of Manhattan, 168 sq. ft. of the company's Circuit 141A was chosen, while at the elevator of Avalon on the Sound East, located in Westchester County, 750 sq. ft. of Tile was utilized. Circuit features rigid, closed weaves. It was affixed to substrates and installed in the elevator cabs as wall, floor, ceiling and facade panels. Tile has rigid open weaves and is often used in elevator cabs, stair rail systems and grillwork.

Ave Maria Oratory

The Ave Maria Oratory features a variety of metal construction products including 34,000 sq. ft. of custom metal skin--Dorian Grey double lock standing seam panels, which were highlighted with .090 stretch formed architectural faux battens. Eight exposed structural steel buttresses are highlighted by stretch form radius .125” thick custom painted aluminum plate panels.

Aviatrix USA

The new headquarters for aerospace parts supplier Aviatrix USA features office and warehouse operations that were created with Rigid Frame and Continuous Beam framing from Varco Pruden Buildings. In addition, Varco Pruden's SSR roofing and Vee Rib wall panels were used to clad the exterior of the 17,000 sq. ft. facility in Sherwood, OR.

Ayala Bakery

In Springdale, AR, customers flock to the popular Panaderia Ayala (Ayala Bakery) to enjoy the Mexican-style sweets and other baked items. When the Ayala family opened their newly constructed facility in 2009, in keeping with their tradition of good taste, they chose a Met-Tile metal tile facsimile roof system from McElroy Metal for the roof.

B & D Dairy Farms

B & D Dairy Farms in Pound, Wisconsin has a new rotary milking parlor to add to their extensive dairy farm, thanks to Keller Inc., an American Buildings Company (ABC) Authorized Builder. The new parlor enhances the speed of the milking process for the large herd of cattle, as well as gives the employees extended office space and a new mechanical room.

Baccarat Hotel & Residences

Located on the corner of Fifth Avenue and 53rd Street in New York City, the Baccarat Hotel & Residences is the flagship of the latest luxury hotel brand from Starwood Capital Group. The new 605-foot-tall, mixed-use building was designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) LLP and features on its exterior Reynobond® aluminum composite material (ACM) from Alcoa Architectural Products.
