Wading River Home

Wading River, NY is a hamlet located in Suffolk County on the North Shore of Long Island. The name of the hamlet comes from the original Algonquian name for the area, Pauquaconsuk, meaning "the place where we wade for thick, round-shelled clams". Being located near the shore, it was a natural fit for an aluminum Dutch Seam metal roof from ATAS International on this Wading River home.

Wagner Hangar

When it came time to order a door for his new 42' x 84' hangar in Godley, Texas, Mike Wagner didn’t hesitate to order a Schweiss Doors bifold liftstrap autolatch door. The factory red door features an automatic latch system and a remote opener.

Wake Technical Community College North Campus Parking Deck

The new Wake Technical Community College North Campus parking deck in Raleigh, NC, was constructed near a wooded area at the end of the campus. The design goal was for the building to have a look to contrast with its surroundings while reflecting the beauty of the natural habitat. That was achieved, in part, through the use of perforated panels by Morin - A Kingspan Group Company on its exterior.

As part of a fast-track $88 million renovation that transforms the WakeMed North Hospital into a full-service hospital, the WakeMed Central Energy Plant in Raleigh, NC - featuring metal products from CENTRIA - serves an important role as the electric and HVAC heart of the healthcare campus.

Walled Lake Central High School

Walled Lake Central High School in Walled Lake, Michigan, has been serving students and the community for more than two decades. But the 25-year-old building was beginning to show its age, and water intrusion had become an issue in the academic wing. As a solution, TMP architecture turned to insulated metal wall panels from Kingspan.

Walter Cronkite School Of Journalism And Communications

In 2009, the City of Phoenix, AZ, embarked on a plan to become the most sustainable city in the United States. It was with that goal in mind that Arizona State University built the 223,000 square foot Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Communication building in downtown Phoenix, providing new classrooms, office space and a home for local PBS affiliate KAET Channel 8. GKD–USA’s Lago stainless steel woven metal fabric was used to create sunscreens, bringing the sustainable elements of sun control to the building.

Walter Reed Military Medical Center

Renovating the roof of the general administration building at Walter Reed Military Medical Center in Washington, DC was as much a labor of love as it was a complex reroofing job for the craftsmen at National Roofing Company in Baltimore Maryland. As part of its work at the historic facility, National Roofing replaced old metal roofing with a new Englert jobsite-manufactured system.

Walton On The Park

Rising in the midst of its elegant Beaux-Arts neighbors, Walton on the Park adds a distinctly modern flavor to Chicago's fashionable Gold Coast neighborhood. Commissioned by one of Chicago's leading residential developers, Walton on the Park exemplifies cutting-edge architecture tempered with respect for the landmark structures around it. The challenge issued to architects Pappageorge Haymes of Chicago, IL, was to create a mixed-use building and residential tower to house more than 400 ultra-spacious, luxurious residential units. Featured on the building’s exterior is Reynobond aluminum composite material from Alcoa Architectural Products.

Washington Station

Like the downtown buildings of old, Washington Station, in the heart of Syracuse, NY's Armory District, is built to last. To ensure it will achieve the kind of durability often lacking in today’s construction, the building’s designer clad its exterior in zinc. Approximately 16,000 square feet of RHEINZINK® Preweathered Blue-Gray panels were installed vertically utilizing the pressure- and temperature-equalized rainscreen Consort Panel System, fabricated by Proclad Enterprises Ltd. of St. Albert, Alberta, Canada.

Water + Life Museums

At the entrance to California’s 4,500-acre Diamond Valley Lake lies the Water + Life Museums spread out over a 23-acre campus. The slender steel towers of sister museums – The center for Water Education and Western Center for Archaeology and Paleontology – along with classrooms, offices, gift shops, laboratories and education landscape celebrate southern California’s water infrastructure. From solar panels to interior lighting to CENTRIA’s Formawall® Dimension Series® insulated panels, the building program is a living example of sustainability and conservation.

Waterford Bay

An unusual site alongside St. Paul, Minn.’s Mississippi riverfront is just one element in the city’s efforts to turn a former industrial area into a new center for housing and outdoor recreation. Once home to a coal-fired power plant, and now a recently completed 243-unit apartment building - Waterford Bay featuring metal cladding by Petersen - has taken its place in a development that also has added public access to the river for boaters, cyclists and pedestrians.

Waukesha Iron & Metal Recycling Center

The Waukesha Iron & Metal Recycling Center, located in Waukesha, Wisconsin, has been a family-owned and operated business since 1956. The recent addition of an automobile shredder presented construction challenges due to the unique nature of the project. Those challenges were overcome by the owners and their design/construction team, with the help of metal building systems from Metallic Building Company.

Waxahachie Civic Center

How do you handle a monster job? You call in your own monster: “Archzilla” from McElroy Metal. Archzilla is a roll former attached to a scissors lift that elevates the roll former to the eaves. The panels – more than 115 feet long on the Waxahachie Civic Center – run off the machine at the eaves, where installers are ready to carry them over the peak to the opposite roof edge. Panels that long require 15-20 workers to safely handle and place the new roofing, even in the best conditions.

Wayne State University Medical Office Building

The Wayne State University School of Medicine’s new Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurosciences medical office building in Detroit was designed to create “visual impact” at its high-profile location along Interstate 75. It succeeds in doing so through the use of a zinc cladding system from Dri-Design on its exterior.

Wealthy Street Transit Operations Center

Located in Grand Rapids, Michigan, The Rapid (Interurban Transit Partnership) is a growing transportation authority that serves the Grand Rapids metropolis and surrounding regions. The new Wealthy Street Transit Operations Center, which is LEED® Silver certified, is the city’s latest project in its sustainable transportation system initiative. CENTRIA architectural metal products are featured on the facility.

Weekends Overstock Warehouse

The use of color was an important factor in designing the WOW! building in LoneTree, CO. To complement the bright corporate colors on the building’s sign, Laminators Inc.'s Omega-Lite® aluminum composite panels were selected to define and accentuate the building’s entrance.

Weitman Hangar

It may look like Captain America’s home, but the house near North Plains, OR with a decorative star and big blue door actually belongs to Jim and Star Weitman, a free-spirited couple with a zest for life and passion for flying. Newly remodeled, their home includes an attached 40’ x 40’ hangar featuring a 38’-wide polycarbonate-clad bifold door—in blue—manufactured by Schweiss Doors.

Wells Fargo Branch Banking Locations

Since acquiring Wachovia Corporation in 2008, Wells Fargo has greatly increased both its client base and the number of branch locations. With new branches opening up all across the country, Wells Fargo has looked to ALPOLIC as a means of ensuring the new buildings would be up to snuff aesthetically.
