Wolf Modern Townhomes

A three-unit rental complex built on a 0.21-acre site in a revitalized residential area of Harrisonburg, Va., Wolf Modern Townhomes was designed to bring modern, sustainable living to its residents. Hans Harman, the president of Velocity Property Group, a Harrisonburg, Va.-based design-build development firm, wanted to maximize the density of the site while creating an urban, modern multi-family space. The modern appearance was aided by metal wall panels from ATAS International Inc., Allentown, Pa. Metal roofing by ATAS was also utilized.

Wolfe Center For The Arts

The new Wolfe Center For The Arts at Bowling Green State University provides a space on campus where the arts can flourish and robust interdisciplinary collaborations can take root. Rising dramatically from a flat site, the building’s metal panels – supplied by CENTRIA - and tilted geometry have introduced a completely new aesthetic to an otherwise traditional group of campus buildings.

Woodstock Commons

Woodstock, NY is best known as the site of a small music festival that made some news in 1969. But it’s also a bucolic, Upstate New York village that prides itself on its own style of quirky, small-town charm. A recently opened affordable-rental project features buildings designed to fit into the area’s rural character, topped by metal roof panels from Petersen.

Woodward Avenue Parking Garage

Ohio Gratings Inc. of Canton, OH, provided 340 egg crate-style aluminum grating panels for use as screening on a parking garage connected to a newly converted residential loft-style apartment complex in downtown Detroit, MI. The panels utilized were constructed of pressure-locked material with an opening size of 4" x 12", framed with 2" x 2" square aluminum tubing and finished with clear anodizing.

With a new era comes a new way to build. Independent aerospace systems manufacturer Woodward’s $200 million, 363,000 sq. ft. Lincoln Campus - a project three years in the making and featuring products from CENTRIA - opened for business in 2016.

Word Of Life Christian Center

Utility costs in Hawaii are higher than most of the United States, so it’s not uncommon to see solar panels installed on larger projects to take advantage of the state’s plentiful sunshine. After repairing a 30-year-old standing seam roof, the Word of Life Christian Center in Honolulu installed an 82 kW solar array, attached with clamps from S-5!.

Workforce Essentials, Clarksville

Located on a highly visible urban infill site in Clarksville, Tenn., the new Workforce Essentials headquarters and career training center is situated at a “gateway entry” intersection to the downtown district. The new 40,000 sq. ft. facility, featuring metal products from Petersen, consolidates services that had been provided at agency offices previously scattered around the city.

Workiva Headquarters

Silicon Valley may have to watch out for Ames, Iowa. Workiva, a cloud-based software company, just opened a sprawling two-phase headquarters near the Iowa State University campus. Dri-Design Wall Panels were used to bring high-tech class to the two buildings that span 120,000 square feet in the ISU Research Park.

World Champions Centre

Even before the close of the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio, many competitors were already contemplating what comes next. For Simone Biles, an American gymnast who was one of the sport's biggest stars even before winning Olympic Gold, what's next is a return to a new training facility in Houston, TX. The facility, christened the World Champions Centre, was constructed with a metal building system from Rigid Global Buildings.

Designing a building for multiple purposes that reflects the feel of the neighborhood was the task of MMEC Architecture & Interiors, Spokane, Wash. Writers Theatre

The design of the new Writers Theatre in Glencoe, Ill., has caught the attention of media across the country.Created by renowned Chicago architect Jeanne Gang, FAIA, the 36,000 sq. ft., $28 million building, which includes metal PAC-CLAD products donated by Petersen, features a 250-seat main theatre that was purposefully designed to maintain Writers Theatre’s hallmark intimacy.

Wurstfest Facility

Just days after the successful November 2019 event wrapped up, a fire damaged the large facility that hosts the 10-day festival. Wyckoff Exchange

Brooklyn is enjoying a renaissance of rediscovery thanks to artists, retailers, ambitious contractors and creative designers like Andre Kikoski Architect. The Manhattan-based firm just completed the renovation and conversion of two empty warehouse buildings at 22-28 Wyckoff Ave., transforming those once-abandoned structures into The Wyckoff Exchange, the Bushwick neighborhood’s newest mixed-use development. Helping secure the development's new businesses are horizontally opening bifold doors by Minnesota-based Schweiss Doors.

The project was designed by Dublin Building Systems of Dublin, OH, while the smooth-faced metal wall panels were installed by Ohio Glass & Aluminum of Columbus.

Yale-New Haven Hospital Parking Garage

The Yale-New Haven Hospital in New Haven, CT regularly ranks among the best hospitals in the U.S. and is nationally recognized for its commitment to teaching and clinical research. As a reflection of the institution's high standards, project team members selected stainless steel mesh fabrics from Cambridge Architectural for the exterior of the hospital's recently constructed parking garage.

Yankee Stadium

Built to replace the original 1923 stadium, the new Yankee Stadium was designed to be modern while maintaining the characteristics that comprise the rich history and tradition of the New York Yankees. Completed in April 2009, the new $1.5 billion Yankee Stadium is the second most expensive stadium in the world and features an array of products from GKD-USA, a leading provider of creative technological leadership in woven wire mesh for industry and architecture. Approximately 33,000 square feet of the stadium – both interior and exterior surfaces – were clad using GKD’s stainless steel woven mesh products including Tigris, Tigris PC and Omega 1505 PC.
