George Bush International Airport Technical Service Warehouse

A proposed roofing tear-off of the George Bush International Technical Service Warehouse, as a result of Hurricane Ike, led to the specification of the Roof Hugger sub-framing system using a new trapezoidal standing seam roof. In lieu of tearing off the old metal roof, the Roof Hugger metal-over-metal system was chosen, saving much time and money. The new 18-inch wide by 3-inch high rib roof system was fastened to Roof Hugger’s pre-notched patented sub-purlins.

George Howard Building Renovation

The George Howard Building first opened to the public in 1978 and is home to the administrative offices for the Howard County, MD government executive branch. The building also houses additional offices focusing on everything from general public information to tourism. However, after 32 years, the building was in dire need of modernization, which led to a $23.5 million renovation in 2010 which featured architectural metal products from CENTRIA.

George Ranch High School And Antoinette Reading Junior High School

From a sheet with nothing more than gridlines and conceptual elevations, grew one of Metallic Building Company’s most intricate projects to date. Metallic’s district sales manager, project managers, engineers and draftsmen worked tirelessly with the project architect and Drymalla Construction for nearly two years to develop the massive, state-of-the-art, George Ranch High School and Antoinette Reading Junior High School campus.

Georgetown and Myrtle Beach YMCAs

Opening two new YMCA buildings in the same area of South Carolina—at the same time—was a great feat for the parent organization, the YMCA of Coastal Carolina. And for the hundreds of people who came together to make both facilities happen, the accomplishment was all the more impressive considering the economic climate. In addition to all the two facilities have in common, they are both topped with metal roofing from Englert Inc.

Georgia BioScience Training Center

Cambridge Architectural metal mesh is a striking feature in the exterior and interior design of the new $14 million Georgia BioScience Training Center. The Center supports research, technology transfer and workforce development critical to bio manufacturing, including support for the adjacent Baxalta immunoglobulin therapies plant under construction.

Georgia Highlands College, Bartow Center

Metal roofing by Petersen Aluminum was selected for use on a structure that will set the tone for a new college campus. The Bartow Center is the first building on a new campus for Georgia Highlands College, Cartersville, GA, a two-year institution of the University of Georgia system. The 100,000 sq. ft. facility is somewhat of a campus-under-one-roof with class rooms, administrative offices, science labs, library and student areas.

Georgia Southern University Biological Sciences Building

Informally dubbed “The Building in the Trees,” the new Biological Sciences Building at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Ga., is located on a major campus pedestrian way that brings students through a wooded area to reach the 158,000 sq. ft. structure. The LEED Gold building, featuring metal products from Petersen Aluminum, is the first in a new precinct of the campus largely devoted to the study of coastal plains biology and ecology.

Georgia State University Piedmont North

Approximately 1,500 square feet of Petersen’s new horizontal wall panels were utilized as an important design element on the Georgia State University Piedmont North dining hall addition on the Atlanta campus. The 16” concealed fastener panels were finished in PAC-CLAD® Kynar 500® Sandstone finish color.

Gerald R. Ford Intl. Airport Temporary Walkway

VersaTube® Building Systems provided a temporary covered walkway system for use during major construction and facility improvements underway in 2008 at the Gerald R. Ford International Airport in Grand Rapids, Mich. The system layout consisted of a primary curbside 20-foot wide by 660-foot long walkway canopy and a series of connecting “tunnels” ranging from 160 feet to 300 feet in length. The design allowed for quick disassembly and relocation of a connecting “tunnel” along the primary walkway to correspond with the area of the terminal building under construction at the time.

Gila River Indian Community District 3 Multipurpose Center

Staying connected and building community are central to the culture of the Gila River Indian Community in Sacaton, Ariz. The recently built 48,577-square-foot Gila River Indian Community District 3 multipurpose building gives the community an opportunity to express its values and gather in a central location. Curves, reflecting the spatial elements of time, life and wellness, were created with Flex-C Trac from Flex-Ability Concepts.

Gilbert Place

Gilbert Place is a six story, mixed use, class A office building located in historic downtown Blacksburg, Virginia. Developed for the Virginia Tech Foundation, the building serves many functions, in addition to being a showpiece for Kingspan Insulated Panels, provider of both insulated metal panels and the barrier wall system used on 95% of the structure.

Gilead Sciences Lab Building

Metal played a prominent role in the design of the first of what will eventually be a number of new buildings at the Foster City, California campus of Gilead Sciences Incorporated. Designed by the San Francisco, California office of Perkins + Will, the building’s mix of materials includes 8,766 sq. ft. of UNA-CLAD™ Series 3000 Aluminum Plate Panels. Manufactured by Firestone Metal Products of Anoka, MN, the .125” Silver-colored panels were installed by B.T. Mancini Co. Inc. of Milpitas, California.

Gilroy Police Station

When the building team set out to plan a new police facility in Gilroy, CA, the original design called for a concrete tile mansard to match the existing roofs in the neighboring Gilroy civic center. Upon finding that the project was over budget, one of the cost-cutting measures adopted by the architect was to replace the concrete tile with a Met-Tile metal “tile panel” facsimile system from McElroy Metal.

Give Kids The World Village, Towne Hall

The new Towne Hall building at Give Kids The World Village is the fanciful centerpiece of the non-profit resort that provides cost-free, weeklong vacations for children with life-threatening illnesses, and their families. The structure is clad in vibrant, primary colors reflecting Towne Hall’s cheerful design and candy-coated theme - featuring PAC-CLAD metal roofing by Petersen.

Glacier Bank Park

The 2023 Pioneer League baseball season opened with the Glacier Range Riders from Kalispell, Mont., at home at the renamed Glacier Bank Park. Sited in Montana’s Flathead County, just outside Glacier National Park, it features all the amenities fans could want as well as striking mountain views – and with a design that blends into its surroundings. Key in the design of the new park are several products from Petersen's PAC-CLAD lineup.

Gladys Valley Marine Studies Building

Completed in mid-2020, Oregon State University's Gladys Valley Marine Studies Building at the Hatfield Marine Science Center combines modern architectural design, state-of-the-art engineering and time-tested natural RHEINZINK prePATINA® Blue-Grey zinc roofing and wall cladding. The RHEINZINK material for the project was supplied by Sheet Metal Supply Ltd. of Grayslake, IL and fabricated into panels by The Bryer Company Inc. of Auburn, WA.

Glasgow Fire Station

Completed in May 2007, the Glasgow Fire Station in Newark DE, totals almost 8,000 square feet. The builder chose to use Star Building System’s StarShield standing seam roof system and StarTherm wall system, in addition to Star’s steel framing. This project was a perfect fit for Star’s pre-engineered metal building due to clear span spaces required. A pre-engineered building was also chosen for its economic appeal.

Glasgow Riverside Museum

The striking new Riverside Museum in Glasgow immerses visitors in the city’s rich history as one of Scotland’s key transportation hubs. Designed by world-renowned architect Zaha Hadid, the soft, flowing lines of the museum’s spectacular architecture presents an impressive sight. The roof and façade, designed to merge into one element, were both clad with RHEINZINK zinc. The walls feature an angled standing seam profile while the roof employs a double standing seam profile.

An intimate community theater in Glencoe, IL owes its beauty and visual drama to the talents of one of Chicago's leading architects, and the extensive utilization of metal construction products on its exterior. The venue's exterior design incorporates more than 6,000 sq. ft. of metal claddings and systems from Petersen, finished with long lasting premium paints by Valspar.

Glidewell Investments & Insurance Group Headquarters

The contemporary new home of Glidewell Investments & Insurance Group in Missoula, MT barely resembles the 1960’s concrete block structure that preceded it. Part of the success of its dramatic transformation lies in the decision to clad the original facade with Flat Lock Tiles in a prePATINA graphite-grey finish from RHEINZINK America.
