Scottsdale Air Center

Glare is a very real concern when specifying metal roofing for projects in close proximity to airports. And the low-glare characteristics of the material was one of the key reasons why Contrarian Metal Resources’ InvariMatte® stainless steel was specified for the Scottsdale Air Center in Scottsdale, Arizona. Carter Burgess Architects designed the streamlined new building and also chose InvariMatte material for its ability to withstand UV rays and exposure to jet fuel residue. Plus the material looks great and is eco-friendly.

Sharp Hospital

The entrance of the new Sharp Hospital is sleek and shaped like a French curve at the top and bottom. Somewhat similar to a spiral staircase, it is wider at the bottom and more narrow at the top. While this creates a handsome entrance, its shape was a challenge for the installers because it was inconsistent from floor to floor. In addition, there is an S-curve at the apex that tapers and goes over the roof which is visible from the freeway. The S-curve was designed to shield mechanical equipment and a cat walk. Wrapping the knuckle is InvariMatte® stainless steel from Contrarian Metal Resources.
