The design of this 20,204 square-foot Social Security Administration office in Brownsville, Texas, was influenced by several governmental regulations calling for office staff to work in cubicles. As a result, the project required flexibility in the design of the interior—so, in order to avoid obstructive columns, clear span construction was the obvious choice. Overall, the pre-engineered metal building by Metallic Building Company was chosen because of its durability and ability to withstand strong winds in inclement weather.
