Roxboro Lift Station

The new Roxboro Lift Station in Calgary, Alberta, Canada is built to withstand a once-in-a-century flood. But function wasn't the sole criteria in its design. It looks good too, blending in and standing out, thanks primarily to the use of cladding products from Kingspan Insulated Panels.

Rufe Building And Mercer Barn

Generosity begins at home and Drexel Metals’ generosity will help ensure future generations can experience historical Doylestown, Pa., and the Mercer Museum, located about an hour north of Philadelphia. Drexel Metals donated materials to re-roof two buildings, approximately 10,500 square feet of 0.032-inch aluminum, 16-inch DMC 150 SL snap lock standing seam roofing, installed by Economy Roofing of New Britain, Pa.

Rugged Radios

D.A. Craghead Construction Inc. of San Luis Obispo, CA was awarded 2nd Runner Up in American Buildings’ 2022 Excellence in Design Awards, in addition to 1st Place in the Commercial category, for the Rugged Radios project in Arroyo Grande, CA.

Rush University Medical Center Tower

The new 14-story $654-million hospital building at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, IL stands out on the city’s skyline with a unique butterfly design and striking white exterior. Formable Alucobond® Plus aluminum composite material by 3A Composites USA was selected to realize the hospital’s shining, clean exterior image and its unique butterfly design.

Rust Library

The Rust Library renovation and expansion in Leesburg, Virginia added 15,000 sq. ft. of state-of-the-art library space to an existing 23,000 sq. ft. building. Topping the library is a new jobsite-manufactured Englert metal roof. The installation is noteworthy for the installing contractor's approach to fabricating panels for a conical roof that serves as one of the library's signature features.

Ryerson Steel

Cornice Construction LLC of Warren, Oregon was awarded the American Buildings 2023 Building of the Year Excellence in Design Award in the Manufacturing/Industrial category for the Ryerson Steel project in Centralia, WA. This 212,000 sq. ft. structure is home to Ryerson Steel's newest state-of-the-art metal distribution and steel processing facility.

The Ryerson University new Student Learning Center (SLC) was designed to offer students a home away from home, complemented by an exquisite design. Tall and visually striking, Ryerson’s Student Learning Center projects an edgy but confident look, thanks in part to the incorporation of Valspar-finished metal panels on its exterior.

S-5! Corporate Headquarters

Located on 4.5+ acres in the heart of Black Forest, Colorado, the new S-5! corporate headquarters and campus consists of a two-story office building that sports exterior and interior metal finishes, and is a comfortable yet provocative space for the company, and an adjacent support building that houses the company’s video training center, a prototype shop and test facilities.

Sacramento Department Of Motor Vehicles Headquarters

The Sacramento Department Of Motor Vehicles field office required a complex phased construction design because the site improvements needed to take place while the building was occupied and functioning. The renovation featured architectural metal products from CENTRIA.

Sacramento International Airport Central Terminal B And Airside Concourse

Having been constructed in the 1960s, Sacramento International Airport’s Terminal B had become both outdated and undersized. As a remedy to the facility’s shortcomings, Sacramento County Airport System officials decided to modernize and expand. That decision resulted in the construction of the airport's new Central Terminal B, Airside Concourse and Automated People Mover. The roof of the Airside Concourse is InvariMatte® stainless steel, a product of Contrarian Metal Resources.

Sadowski Residence

We all make choices. Sometimes those choices can have an extraordinary impact on the results. Denny Sadowski chose to build his home sustainably. His goal was to build the most maintenance-free home possible while achieving a sophisticated look that would last indefinitely. Saft Passive House

Whirlwind Solar, a Division of Whirlwind Steel Buildings, Inc., in conjunction with Corey Saft, an Architecture Professor at University of Louisiana at Lafayette, has completed the first application of Solar Laminates on a certified ‘Passive House’. The solar array, laminated to the Whirlwind Weather Snap metal system, is sized at 3.264 kW.

Sagaponack Residence

Inspired by noted American architect Norman Jaffe, the strikingly contemporary Sagaponack Residence on Long Island is highlighted by distinctively unique angles both inside and out. Lending to this home's icon-inspired design was RHEINZINK titanium-zinc. It covers the majority of the home's walls and roof, providing the desired look and durability.

Saginaw Valley State University, Pioneer Hall

Saginaw Valley State University's Pioneer Hall continues to draw praise from students, staff and the surrounding Saginaw, Michigan community. Not only was Pioneer Hall the first "green" building on the Saginaw Valley State University (SVSU) campus, it was also the first project in the northeastern and mid-Michigan areas to earn Silver certification under the LEED® Green Building Rating System™, thanks in part to curtainwall units manufactured by Tubelite Inc.

The new Saia LTL Freight facility in St. Peters, MO, was designed with company branding in mind. The colors and products chosen, including metal roofing from McElroy Metal, were a true team decision.

Sailfish Point Home

Sailfish Point, Florida, is a small island near Port St. Lucie and West Palm Beach. It is surrounded by beautiful blue skies and pure saltwater. Homeowners located there were looking to replace their roof that had been installed approximately 20 years before, and they asked Total Roofing Systems to help them. This led to the selection of blue Tedlar® PVF film laminated onto aluminum.

Saint Mary of the Cross Mausoleum

Though contemporary, the new Saint Mary of the Cross Mausoleum at the Melbourne General Cemetery in Melbourne, Australia exhibits the qualities of traditional funerary architecture. It was designed by Harmer Architecture of Collingwood, Melbourne, and features VMZINC®. In the U.S., the marketing, sales and support of VMZINC® is through Umicore Building Products, USA Inc.

Saints Peter & Paul School And Parish Center

Totaling 27,058 square feet, the new Saints Peter & Paul School And Parish Center in Seneca, KS, utilized a custom metal building from Star Building Systems. Completed in August 2009, Star’s SMS structural framing system provides the structure of the new facility. The exterior materials include a StarShield Standing Seam Roof system formed from Galvalume-coated steel, Star’s DuraRib wall system in an Almond color, and MBCI’s CFW II wall system in a Brownstone finish.
