Cabela's - Gainesville, VA

Design for the new Cabela’s store in Gainesville, Va. reflects the company’s well-known lodge-inspired theme featuring high ceilings, raw exposed wood, stone masonry and, of course, the chain’s signature green roof. In this case, more than 20,000 sq. ft. of Petersen’s 22 gauge Snap-Clad panels finished in custom color East Georgia Green were used.

Ford Motor Co. Parking Decks

Decorative facades with swooping curves, created by Cambridge Architectural using powder-coated mesh, are featured on new employee parking decks at the Ford Engineering & Research Center campus in Dearborn, MI. The two structures, Parking Decks 300 and 400, were completed in 2019 and accommodate 3,900 vehicles. They incorporate nearly 100,000 square feet of metal mesh.

Canal Dock Boathouse

An historic boathouse in New Haven, CT is gone but not forgotten, thanks to the clever design of the $43 million, state-funded replacement structure. In addition to incorporating salvaged elements of the original boathouse, the new bigger and better Canal Dock Boathouse features two styles of insulated metal wall panels from Kingspan Insulated Panels - North America.

Agtegra Cooperative

Agtegra Cooperative has expanded its service area to reach rural customers in 60 communities throughout North and South Dakota. One of those communities is Harrold, SD, home of the Harrold Municipal Airport and the site of Agtegra’s new crop spraying hangar. The steel building hangar was manufactured by Chief Buildings and features 70'-wide hydraulic doors from Schweiss Doors at both ends.

Exo Apartments

Exo Apartments is a 457-unit, multi-family residential community in Reston, Virginia that opened in July 2018. Consisting of two identical 16-floor towers connected with a single-story reception-area link building, the 530,000 square foot complex is clad in aluminum composite material by 3A Composites USA with a color-shifting finish.

Consumer Direct Care Network

The new four-story headquarters for Consumer Direct Care Network in Missoula, MT, stands as an impressive structure in the city’s new business park. For the colorful façade, a metal composite material (MCM) panel from Citadel Architectural Products was just what everyone was looking for.

Dekalb County Jail Expansion

Marking its first construction project since 1980, the Dekalb County Jail serving Dekalb County, IL, was modernized and aesthetically enhanced with CENTRIA Formawall® insulated metal panels. CENTRIA’s products were also successful in meeting specific design criteria outlined by Dewberry, the firm responsible for the building design.

South Boston Waterfront Transportation Center

Metalwërks® provided design assistance and materials for highly-customized, vertically-oriented exterior louver fins for the South Boston Waterfront Transportation Center. Located in the dynamic Seaport District of Boston, MA, and partially spanning the existing I-90 tunnel structure, the new facility covers 650,000 square feet and contains around 1,500 parking spaces across nine levels.

Lander County Recreation Center

The new Lander County Recreation Center provides a daily splash of energy and enthusiasm to the quiet mining community of Battle Mountain, NV. It also demonstrates the performance and aesthetics capable with a comprehensive metal building and metal envelope construction approach. The framing system was from Star Building Systems, the insulated wall and roof panels from Metl-Span and the smooth-faced accent panels from MBCI.

NewCold Tacoma

Cold storage buildings are all about thermal security, and the leaders in this unique industry have come to realize that achieving it means relying on top-quality products like those offered by All Weather Insulated Panels (AWIP). It certainly explains the use of AWIP's DM40 insulated wall panel for the exterior of NewCold Tacoma, a 140'-tall cold storage project in Tacoma, WA.

Principle Business Enterprises Manufacturing Plant Addition

When designing the Principle Business Enterprises’ (PBE) manufacturing plant in Bowling Green, Ohio, architect Kate MacPherson and PBE owners Carol and Chuck Stocking conducted extensive research. They were on a quest for the best daylighting product on the market. After identifying Kingspan Light + Air | CPI Daylighting’s UniQuad translucent wall panel system, the Stocking’s traveled across the Midwest reviewing existing UniQuad installations. Ultimately, 4,480 sq. ft. of the wall system was incorporated into the new PBE headquarters.

Pier 17

Located in New York City’s South Street Seaport, Pier 17 anchors an extensive redevelopment project that is focused on transforming the historic Lower Manhattan neighborhood into a thriving cultural, retail and entertainment center. Yet, for PPG and Spectrum Metal Finishing, the project is serving a secondary purpose: as the proving ground for New York City’s first application of PPG Duranar® powder coatings in a challenging marine environment.

Indian Springs School

When founded in 1952, the master plan for Indian Springs School in Birmingham, Ala., called for campus development to maintain focus on the lake at the center of the school’s wooded 350-acre property. During the past 30 years, however, focus was lost, so a new plan was made to demolish then construct buildings - featuring metal roofing from Petersen - that re-establish a connection to the lake.

Plainfield Fire Territory Headquarters

For a city the size of Plainfield, Indiana (population 27,000), the Plainfield Public Safety Facilities project was an ambitious undertaking. Announced in 2016, the $25 million project called for the construction of a new headquarters and two new stations for the Plainfield Fire Territory, and the renovation or re-purposing of four other buildings used by the city's public safety forces. As designed by CR Architecture + Design of Cincinnati, the new fire territory buildings feature metal composite wall panels from Laminators Inc. of Hatfield, PA on their exterior.

123 East Cermak Hotels

Featuring 466 guest rooms, an indoor pool, four restaurants and 7,000 feet of meeting space, Hilton WorldWide's first-ever tri-branded hotel recently opened in Chicago. Featured on the building's exterior is more than 2,100 BENCHMARK panels from Kingspan Insulated Panels, finished with custom shades of Sherwin-Williams paint.

Merrill Hangar

Approaching Dick Merrill’s wood-frame barn for the first time, you’d not guess it to be a hangar for his 180 Cessna Spirit of Columbus airplane. Helping to disguise it is the bifold door installed in one end wall. Manufactured by Schweiss Doors, it blends in so well, you can hardly detect it.

Southwestern College Wellness & Aquatic Center

An empty dirt lot in Chula Vista, CA, was transformed from an eye sore into an inviting space for the community to enjoy. The Wellness & Aquatic Center at Southwestern College is a new 75,000-square-foot facility that is clad with Dri-Design’s Perforated Imaging Panels and standard Dri-Design Wall Panels. While this combination is not unique, the hieroglyph designs perforated into the panels are.

Johnson Space Center

CENTRIA metal panels helped provide a design solution for the new home of NASA’s Johnson Space Center (JSC) Biomedical Research & Environmental Sciences Division, a facility responsible for enhancing and studying astronaut and human health. Approximately 20,600 square feet of Concept Series single-skin rainscreen panels clad a portion of the building’s exterior.

Verona Area Community Theater

Varco Pruden Buildings supplied its Continuous Beam framing for the new Verona Area Community Theater in Verona, WI. 1848 Construction Inc. of Middleton, WI was the VP Builder for the new facility, which was designed by Dimension IV Madison Design Group of Madison, WI.
