Adaire

As one of the first high-rises constructed in the fast-growing Tysons unincorporated area of Fairfax County, Va., Adaire, a mixed-use residential community, stands out not only for its 35 stories towering into the sky but for its striking ellipsoidal design and modern facade. The project features aluminum composite material (ACM) cladding from 3A Composites USA.

Grammy Museum Mississippi

Similar to its sister museum in Los Angeles, the new Grammy Museum in Cleveland, Miss., is dedicated to presenting the past, present and future of music, and the cultural context from which it emerges. Logically, then, the stylistic new structure shines a focused spotlight on the deep musical roots of its Mississippi environment. Corrugated metal panels from Petersen are used prominently on the facility.

North Woods Cottage

RHEINZINK was the natural choice to clad the roof of a new cottage located in the North Woods of Wisconsin. "The multi-level roof was a key part of the design and we wanted it to blend into the environment as much as possible," the owner said. Approximately 2,500 sq. ft. of RHEINZINK Double Lock Standing Seam Panels, fabricated by Sheet Metal Supply, met the criteria.

Fermilab SBN Near Detector Building

Holabird & Root Architects of Chicago specified a bifold door from Schweiss Doors on what turned out to be an award-winning project. A 20'-10" x 23'-9" bifold liftstrap door was installed in the new 4,500-square-foot SBN Near Detector Building. The door features gray liftstraps, electric photo eye sensors, warning lights and horns, a top-drive motor, an automatic latching system and an emergency back-up system.

McElroy Metal Plant - Adelanto, CA

Because you can never save too much, McElroy Metal has added solar panels to a second manufacturing facility–this one in Adelanto, CA–that will more than offset the plant’s electrical usage and show a return on investment in approximately three years.

One Henry Adams

Amid the century-old brick and timber structures that make up San Francisco's Design District/Showplace Square is One Henry Adams, a two-building residential development designed to blend in and stand out at the same time. Part of the mix of materials utilized by BAR Architects to create the project's clean, simple look were products from Morin, a Kingspan Group Company.

Hennepin County Library - Brooklyn Park

The libraries of today are inviting learning environments that encourage collaboration and exploration. Hennepin County Library – Brooklyn Park in Minnesota is a testament to this philosophy, and Dri-Design VMZINC Wall Panels were used to complete the vision.

Augusta Data Storage Inc.

Varco Pruden Buildings' Rigid Frame system was used by J.E. Stewart Builders Inc. of Aiken, SC to create the Augusta Data Storage facility in Augusta, GA. Designed by Studio 3 Design Group PC of Augusta, the 26,260 sq. ft. building houses offices and document storage that complies with National Archives And Records Administration regulations.

The Ark At John F. Kennedy International Airport

The world's first privately owned airport handling center for animals showcases a high-performance, energy-efficient insulated metal panel (IMP) building envelope. Three types of Metl-Span panel products are used on The Ark, which is located at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City.

Owego Elementary School

Owego Elementary School is a part of the Owego Apalachin Central School District, which serves 2,125 students in Owego, New York. In 2011, the school was irreversibly damaged by a flood, calling for reconstruction that began in 2014. The new, larger facility - featuring a range of products from CENTRIA - sports more durability and sustainability features than its predecessor.

Richland Two Institute Of Innovation

The new Richland Two Institute of Innovation is a unique educational center supporting multigenerational learning. The facility is part of the Richland School District Two in Columbia, S.C., and is envisioned as a “fishbowl of learning” that weaves together spaces and programs for the school district as well as the community. PAC-CLAD metal wall, roof and soffit panels from Petersen are featured.

Trillium Park Pavilion

A steeply-sloped RHEINZINK-clad roof is the architectural focal point of an open-air pavilion at the new Trillium Park and William G. Davis Trail at Ontario Place in Toronto. The opening of the park and waterfront trail marks the first milestone of the province’s plan to revitalize and transform the iconic landmark into a vibrant, year-round attraction.

Ouray School

Since its construction in the mid-1930s, Ouray School in Ouray, CO has undergone many changes. Among the most recent was the addition of a new metal roof. Installed along with it was a snow guard system from S-5!, thus ensuring the school’s students, faculty and visitors will never have to worry about a potentially dangerous chunk of ice or snow sliding off the roof when they are right below.

K-Flex USA Expansion

In October 2016, K-Flex USA of Youngsville, N.C., contracted with Focus Design Builders of Wake Forest, N.C., MB Erectors of Millbrook, Ala., SNW Steel Services of Ringgold, Va., and Architect McGahey Design of Garner, N.C., to expand their facility. The project was completed in July 2017 with the help of products from Ceco Building Systems.

M.E. Yacht Restoration

M.E. Yacht Restoration of Holland, Mich., wrapped up the second phase of construction last summer, completing its new 70,000-square-foot, three-story state-of-the-art storage, restoration and office facility near Lake Michigan. The fully insulated building also features a couple of doors from Schweiss Doors.

Tyler, TX Fire Station #5

About half way between Dallas and the Louisiana border lies the growing community of Tyler, Texas. As the city continues to invest in the future, both in the private and public sectors, the Tyler Fire Station #5 provides a great example for what’s to come. It is topped with a curved metal roof from McElroy Metal, featuring panels finished with a premium Sherwin-Williams paint.

American AgCredit Headquarters

American AgCredit’s new headquarters in Santa Rosa, CA speaks to the company’s ever-growing, ever-changing business model. The energy-efficient building, designed by TLCD Architecture, Santa Rosa, is distinctive for its curved forms and natural materials. Perforated Series Wall Panels from Dri-Design, made from VMZINC, add a timeless warmth, durability and beauty.

AEP Ardmore Service Center

Combining a variety of metal products from Varco Pruden Buildings, the AEP Ardmore Service Center in Fort Wayne, IN is both visually appealing and functional. The 84,000 sq. ft. facility features an inviting office area with maintenance shop space to service vehicles owned by the project's owner, American Electric Power Service Corp.

The Linx

What was once a concrete warehouse in East Watertown, MA is now The Linx, a contemporary commercial office complex. The design firm behind the $60 million adaptive reuse architectural marvel used a mix of materials that included aluminum composite materials from Arconic and 3A Composites, and perforated metal panels from Morin, a Kingspan Group Company.
