UCLA Center For The Health Sciences South Tower Renovation

Banker Wire worked with ZGF Architects LLP to create a custom mesh railing infill for the South Tower building on UCLA’s Center for the Health Sciences (CHS) complex. The 443,000 sq. ft. building underwent a seismic upgrade and renovation to convert nine of the former hospital’s 12 floors into research lab space.

Houston Ship Channel Intermarine Shipyard Operations Building

Standing in the midst of a hyper-industrial site adjacent to the Houston Ship Channel, the new Intermarine Shipyard Operations and Office Building indexes the international shipping industry it serves. The new five-story, channel-side building makes extensive use of Reynobond aluminum composite material, finished with Alcoa Architectural Products' super-durable Design LIne™ paint finish.

Recce Point Clubhouse

For more than a decade, the patrons of the Reece Point Clubhouse at Coyote Run Golf Course were forced to put up with a leaky roof at the entrances. Rua and Son Mechanical of Lincoln, Calif., took a little extra care with the installation of the 238T Plank and Pencil Rib standing seam metal roof from McElroy Metal to solve the issues.

Academy Of Aerospace And Engineering

An antiquated business complex in Windsor, Connecticut has been reimagined into the new CREC Academy of Aerospace and Engineering, a state-of-the-art Magnet School, with the help of MetalTech-USA’s zinc panels. Opened in September 2015, this new facility houses 735 students Grades 6-12 in an impressive 150,197 square feet. The old structure was stripped to its steel frame and retrofitted to be as visionary as the school itself.

Regent Park Aquatic Centre

There's a sculptural quality to the design of the Regent Park Aquatic Centre in Toronto Ontario, Canada. Lending to the design is a Dri-Design rainscreen cladding system fabricated from ANTHRA-ZINC, a rich, charcoal black zinc version of a VMZINC®, the international brand name of rolled zinc products manufactured and sold by the Building Products Unit of Umicore.

Nu Skin Enterprises Inc. is a leader in anti-aging and skin care products and research. As part of their commitment to research and innovation, the company invested $100 million in an Innovation Center in Provo, UT. The center – which used metal products from CENTRIA - reflects the modern sensibilities of the global company and houses research laboratories, conference spaces and more.

The long-awaited Western Health Center in Midfield, Ala., is providing comprehensive medical care for the under-served population in Jefferson County. The two-story, 78,000-sq.-ft. center - featuring PAC-CLAD metal roofing and wall panels from Petersen - consolidates three older health clinics into an attractive new facility more centrally located to serve the patient community.

Sagaponack Residence

Inspired by noted American architect Norman Jaffe, the strikingly contemporary Sagaponack Residence on Long Island is highlighted by distinctively unique angles both inside and out. Lending to this home's icon-inspired design was RHEINZINK titanium-zinc. It covers the majority of the home's walls and roof, providing the desired look and durability.

AMLI Mark 24

The maritime history of a Seattle neighborhood was the inspiration behind the design for the AMLI Mark 24 multi-family project in Seattle, WA by GGLO Design. AEP Span’ architectural metal siding was selected to help achieve the design and earn LEED Silver Certification.

A designer, builder and building owner found a product that they like, and they have stuck with it on many collaborative projects. Flex-Ability Concepts’ Flex-C Trac is that product, and it was used to add design detail to the team’s latest creation - Majestic Nail Spa in Dallas, Texas.

Grace Place Church

The new Grace Place Church in Berthoud, CO shows off nearly 30,000 total square feet of wall, roof, and soffit panels from Metal Sales Manufacturing Corporation. Grace Place offers live concert performances, retreats and special worship just for kids. In order to make this sanctuary as contemporary as the organization itself, the church needed authentic materials that would match its mission.

Hill 7 Development

A cost-effective design solution brought Dri-Design to the Hill 7 development in Seattle, WA. Dri-Design wall panels clad the exterior of the 222-room Hilton Garden Inn, and Dri-Design Tapered Series Panels are the polished stainless-steel soffit for the adjoining office building. This combination creates a spectacular streetscape for a downtown development.

San Francisco International Airport Traffic Control Tower

Design of San Francisco International Airport’s new traffic control tower not only was focused on functional goals - including meeting seismic event standards, offering maximum sightlines and accommodating state-of-the-art electronics - it also needed to serve as an iconic symbol. Aluminum composite material from 3A Composites USA was selected to clad the tower.

Boeing Delivery Center - Charleston

Set to open in 2016, the new development at the Boeing Delivery Center in Charleston, SC will be a state-of-the-art aircraft paint facility. The 256,000 square-foot facility - featuring metal products from CENTRIA - is 10 stories high and almost two football fields wide, big enough to house two Boeing 787 Dreamliners simultaneously.

Sullivan’s Island Elementary School

Following the mantra of “learning by the sea,” the new Sullivan’s Island Elementary School in South Carolina is only a stone’s throw from the Atlantic Ocean. Given its beach-front location, the selection of Petersen’s PAC-CLAD aluminum roof and wall panels was an obvious choice to counter the corrosive environment and protect the school from frequent, punishing storms and occasional earthquakes.

Special Forces Hangar And Support Buildings - Cannon Air Force Base

There's nothing ordinary about the U.S. Army Special Forces, and there's nothing ordinary about the insulated roof and wall systems chosen for several buildings dedicated to the Special Forces and located at Cannon Air Force Base in Curry County, New Mexico. Featured on the unit's new hangar and aircraft maintenance facility are products from Kingspan Insulated Panels North America of Deland, FL.

Buerger Center For Advanced Pediatric Care

In July 2015, the Buerger Center for Advanced Pediatric Care opened as the newest addition to The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia campus. Designed by Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects and FKP Architects, the 12-story, ambulatory care center is the focus of the new South Campus. Its curving curtainwall systems feature Valspar’s high-performance Fluropon® coating systems in nine bold colors.
