Pitt-Ohio

Pitt-Ohio, a leader in the trucking industry, significantly invested in a new 95,765 sq. ft. facility that received Gold LEED status. The pre-engineered metal building, provided by Authorized Builder C. Tucker Cope and Associates Inc. of Columbiana, OH, was awarded the American Buildings 2022 Building of the Year Excellence in Design Award in the Transportation category, while also earning the prestigious title of 2022 Building of the Year.

Plainfield Fire Territory Headquarters

For a city the size of Plainfield, Indiana (population 27,000), the Plainfield Public Safety Facilities project was an ambitious undertaking. Announced in 2016, the $25 million project called for the construction of a new headquarters and two new stations for the Plainfield Fire Territory, and the renovation or re-purposing of four other buildings used by the city's public safety forces. As designed by CR Architecture + Design of Cincinnati, the new fire territory buildings feature metal composite wall panels from Laminators Inc. of Hatfield, PA on their exterior.

Plainfield Fire Territory Station 123

The Plainfield Fire Territory in Hendricks County, Indiana responds to more than 4,400 calls annually. To provide better response throughout the Territory’s 45-square-mile service area, the agency recently constructed Fire Station 123. The 23,000 square foot facility is both functional and attractive, with an exterior design that utilizes three styles of insulated metal panel systems from Metl-Span.

Planet Hollywood Theatre

An innovative Landscape Interior metal fabric solution from Cambridge Architectural of Cambridge, MD, dramatically defines and separates space within the Theatre for the Performing Arts at the new Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, NV. The newly renovated theater, formerly the Aladdin Center for the Performing Arts, is designed to house Broadway-style shows for extended runs. Cambridge Architectural’s innovative mesh application provides “house reduction” in order to produce more intimate seating for smaller crowds. Retractable panels of metal fabric allow larger areas of the theatre to be reconfigured to suit the space requirements of an event.

Plano Material Recovery Facility

Situated in Plano, TX, the new Plano Material Recovery Facility combines Varco Pruden Buildings' Rigid Frame and WideBay framing systems with conventional/custom steel construction. The 71,844 sq. ft. facility was selected as the winner of the Government category in the 2020 Varco Pruden Hall Of Fame presentation.

Playland Ice Casino

Superstorm Sandy barreled up the East Coast in 2012, causing record amounts of damage and destruction while becoming the largest Atlantic hurricane on record. Its powerful winds and torrential rains damaged countless businesses and homes along the Eastern U.S., including Playland Amusement Park and its iconic Ice Casino. Metal roofing from The Garland Co. Inc. played a key role in the restoration of the historic Rye, New York facility.

Plymouth State University Ice Arena

The Plymouth State University Ice Arena in Plymouth, New Hampshire includes a 4,000 sq. ft. welcome center component and stands as the “front door” to the expanding campus. The 60,000 sq. ft. facility includes an innovative geothermal system that actually creates ice as well as heats the building. Featured on the exterior of the building is some 15,000 sq. ft. of Metl-Span CF-36 Architectural Flat insulated wall panels. The 3” panels were finished in Metallic Silver, Regal Gray and Polar White.

PNC Field Renovation

PNC Field, home to the AAA Scranton-Wilkes Barre Yankees baseball team, underwent a $40 million upgrade that resulted in a completely renovated facility that was ready for the 2013 season. The new look PNC Field features the modern amenities and the intimate setting that today’s fans are looking for, along with metal products by CENTRIA that add to the festive surroundings.

PNC Triangle Park

Triangle Park is a calm oasis among the hustle and bustle of Downtown Pittsburgh, PA. It features handsome benches under a stainless steel canopy to provide shade and protection from rain and snow. The park, which opened in late 2009, is the result of donations by two Pittsburgh area companies, Contrarian Metal Resources in Allison Park, and ATI, Downtown.

Pointe At Polaris

Along the Polaris Highway in Columbus, OH, sits the Pointe at Polaris — a vibrant, modern, mixed-use community. It features inviting green spaces, entertainment, shopping, and places to live, all in a 20-acre tract of land. CENTRIA panels were used across the structure as part of Phase I of the project.

Polk Penguin Conservation Center

Opening in the spring 2016, the Polk Penguin Conservation Center at the Detroit Zoo is the largest of its kind in the world. It rises visually as a monolithic tabular iceberg, sparkling brightly in the sun. Although not literally made of ice, the exterior of the Polk Penguin Conservation Center resembles the look of an Antarctic iceberg. To create that impression, its exterior is comprised of metal wall panels from IMETCO, featuring a custom white paint finish developed by Valspar.

Pontotoc Fire Station #2

The 4,109 square foot Pontotoc Fire Station #2 utilized Star Building Systems’ SMTS and SSB structural metal framing systems along with Star’s StarShield roof system. Completed in November 2008, a Star custom metal building was chosen for this Pontotoc, MS project due to requirements for long open spans and ease of building erection.

Port Ludlow, Washington Home

Port Of Baltimore Cruise Terminal

The Maryland Port Authority recently completed a metal-over-metal retrofit of their Port Of Baltimore Cruise Terminal facility. The 65,000 square foot building, located at the Port of Baltimore in Baltimore, Maryland, accommodates passengers embarking on vacations booked with Royal Caribbean, Celebrity and Carnival Cruise Lines to exotic ports of call. The project features metal roofing by Metal-Fab Manufacturing (Met-Fab) and factory-notched sub-purlins supplied by Roof Hugger, Inc.

Port Of Kalama Transportation Interpretive Center

The Port of Kalama’s Transportation Interpretive Center opened to the public in November 2014. The vision for the Kalama, Washington facility was to replicate a traditional waterfront warehouse of the 1800s, and that goal was achieved with the help of AEP Span’s architectural metal panels in two new specialty finishes, Burnt Rust and Weathered Zinc.

Port Of Miami Tunnel

PPG Industries’ (NYSE:PPG) coil and building products group supplied Duranar® XL and Duracron® coatings to the new Port of Miami Tunnel, which is made up of two 4,200-foot-long highway tunnels that travel under Biscayne Bay, connecting the MacArthur Causeway on Watson Island to the Port of Miami on Dodge Island.

Port Pavilion On Broadway Pier

The new Port Pavilion on Broadway Pier, a $28 million cruise ship terminal at the Port of San Diego, is the second major building to feature color-shifting Duranar® VARI-Cool® coatings by PPG Industries (NYSE:PPG). Saul Suarez, an architect with Bermello Ajamil & Partners, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., specified Duranar VARI-Cool coatings in blue-green Polar Flare and Jamaican Reef colors for the two-story, 52,000 sq. ft. terminal.

Portland Yacht Services

With the recent construction of an 80’ x 150’ marina service building, along with the acquisition of a 330-metric-ton Marine Travelift, Portland Yacht Services is poised to service bigger boats and even more customers. The key element in bringing the company’s latest service expansion plan to fruition was equipping the new building with a door large enough for the new Travelift to fit through. Manufacturing such a door might’ve been a problem for some, but not for Hector, MN-based Schweiss Doors.
