North Hall Academic Facility - Oklahoma State University

A perfect match of the school colors was a must, and it was its ability to offer such precision that led an Oklahoma-based composite metal panel contractor to suggest Laminators Inc. for Oklahoma State University's new North Hall Academic Facility.

North Star Academy

The new North Star Academy, a Duluth (MN) Edison Charter School, uses the latest in construction products and techniques to create a stimulating educational environment based on friendliness, openness and comfort. The 90,000 sq. ft. facility, which serves up to 900 K-8 students, is clad with two styles and five colors of insulated metal wall panels from Lewisville, TX-based Metl-Span.

North Texas Residence

A North Texas homeowner was looking to replace her home’s concrete tile roof, damaged by hail, and searched high and low for a more durable and attractive choice. While browsing online she happened to find the Milan metal roofing profile from McElroy Metal. That’s what she wanted.

North Tract Loft Apartments

With decorative appeal in mind, The Preston Partnership of Falls Church, VA, designed the buildings of the new North Tract Loft Apartment community with a variety of exterior cladding materials, including 85,000 square feet of Bright Silver Omega-Lite aluminum composite panels, manufactured by Laminators Incorporated. Omega-Lite panels contain a total of 70% recycled content which can contribute to achieving LEED points.

North Windy Ridge School

North Windy Ridge School, located in Weaverville, North Carolina, recently completed a “metal-over-metal” retrofit re-roofing. The suburban school serves approximately 600 fifth and sixth grade students and is part of the North Buncombe District of Buncombe County Schools. Unique to the design of this re-roofing application were custom-made Roof Hugger sub-purlins that provided convective ventilation through the air-space between the existing and new roofs. The new metal roof is MBCI's SuperLok profile.

North Woods Cottage

RHEINZINK was the natural choice to clad the roof of a new cottage located in the North Woods of Wisconsin. "The multi-level roof was a key part of the design and we wanted it to blend into the environment as much as possible," the owner said. Approximately 2,500 sq. ft. of RHEINZINK Double Lock Standing Seam Panels, fabricated by Sheet Metal Supply, met the criteria.

Northampton Forensic Center

Like most projects, expectations were high for the Northampton Forensic Center building. Thanks in large part to the choice of insulated metal panels from Metl-Span, the project turned out to be an award winner that was completed on time and on budget.

Northeast Indiana Innovation Center – Emerging Growth Center

Varco Pruden Buildings, a division of BlueScope Buildings North America, Inc., supplied Rigid Frame metal building systems for the Northeast Indiana Innovation Center – Emerging Growth Center facility in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The building utilized a complete Varco Pruden framing system. Special spaced spandrels and vertical members allowed for the use of concealed-fastened horizontal metal siding as well as the support for aluminum storefront and masonry effects.

Northeast Kingdom Human Services Building

Northeast Kingdom Human Services provides mental health, substance abuse, and developmental services through contracts with the State of Vermont. To better serve its clients in the wide geography of this region, and bring all its services under one roof, a new facility was deemed necessary. Products from Kingspan Insulated Panels played a key role in the new building's design.

Northern Alberta Institute of Technology

The Northern Alberta Institute of Technology in Edmonton is a leader in technical training and applied education. As a continuation of its mission--and in accordance with its master plan--the Institute recently added the 20,000 sq. ft. facility to accommodate two key apprenticeship programs. Featured on the exterior of the new building is 22-gauge RHEINZINK® titanium zinc with a Preweathered Blue Gray finish. Cohos Evamy integratedesign™, Edmonton, was the project's designer.

Northern Arizona University Dining Hall Expansion

When time and money are tight, you go with what you know and trust. Jason Boyer, AIA, LEED AP BD+C and Benjamin Mullings, LEED AP BD+C of Jason Boyer Architects (JBA) in Phoenix had previously worked on the award-winning Health and Learning Center project at Northern Arizona University, completed in 2011 while at OWP/P Cannon Design. That project included corrugated panels and perforated corrugated panels from Morin, A Kingspan Group Company.

Northern Arizona University Student-Athlete Performance Center

There's nothing old school or low-tech about Northern Arizona's new 72,000 sq. ft., $47 million Student-Athlete Performance Center. In addition to classrooms, study areas and research labs to support high-altitude athlete training, the building features a sophisticated design incorporating insulated metal panels from Kingspan.

Northern Kentucky University Student Union

The new 58,000 sq. ft. Student Union at Northern Kentucky University, Highland Heights, KY serves as the hub for the entire campus and creates a crossroads for student, faculty and staff activities. University administrators sought a “unique and appealing identity” that would raise the standard and set a new direction for architectural excellence on the campus, according to Michael Jacobs, principal, Omni Architects, Lexington, KY. Utilized for the building's construction was 30,000 sq. ft. of RHEINZINK® Preweathered Blue-Gray zinc panels.

Northgate Plaza

Northgate Plaza, a new office building opened in February 2020 in the fast-growing Pinnacle Hills neighborhood of Rogers, Ark., was envisioned as a new standard for occupant-focused office space in this premiere business and entertainment district. Complementing its glass exterior is aluminum composite material (ACM) cladding from 3A Composites USA.

Northlake - Barbara Loar Library

Time and again architects have challenged the capabilities of aluminum composite material (ACM) panels to conform to their complex geometric designs. A recent example can be found in Tucker, Georgia where the material played an integral role in the nautically inspired renovation and expansion of the Northlake – Barbara Loar Library. The project’s makeover was completed under the direction of Richard Wittschiebe Hand Architects of Atlanta, GA. Charged with manufacturing the composite panel system for the project was Altech Panel Systems of Cartersville, GA. The company fabricated the panels to demanding specifications at the jobsite using its “Total Station” production process.

Northland Pioneer College Skills Center

A new complex of buildings, utilizing products from Star Building Systems, was designed by DLR Group for the Skills Center at Northland Pioneer College in Holbrook, AZ. Since welding is the trade taught in this building it was a natural showcase for steel construction.

NorthPark Church

Who thought inspiration could come in the form of a steel building? Kenneth Joyner did. When the CEO of J&J Contractors was hired to finish a long-range growth plan for NorthPark Church in Meridian, Miss., he turned to Ceco Building Systems. The end product was a stunning worship facility that not only serves the congregation but has already struck a chord with visitors.

Northwest Arkansas Community College

Although less than 15 years old, an architectural shingle roof was leaking badly at Northwest Arkansas Community College in Bentonville, AR. “We get lots of wind in the area and every time a storm would come through, we would lose shingles,” said Jim Lay, construction manager for the college. “So in our master plan, we decided to use metal on all future roof installations.” Approximately 100,000 sq. ft. of PAC-CLAD Snap-Clad Panels by Petersen Aluminum were used in the major tear-off and re-roof project.

Northwest Distributors

Northwest Independent School District Aquatic Center

The new Northwest Independent School District Aquatic Center in Fort Worth, Texas features striking reflective metal tiles by Petersen that stretch across the façade, serving as a background for the building’s main signage. Their aqua-toned reflective hue creates the appearance of ripples across the wall, like one might see in a pool filled with swimmers.
