NetApp Building 1 Renovation

NetApp, a company specializing in storage and data management solutions, purchased three empty buildings in North Carolina’s Research Triangle Region as part of their East Coast business expansion plan. Renovating Building 1 - to accommodate research labs, product development and customer service functions - was the company’s first priority. Metal wall systems from CENTRIA played a major role in the renovation.

New Balance Corporate Offices

During the planning stages of the company’s new office headquarters, Jim and Anne Davis, owners of New Balance Athletic Shoe Inc., insisted on a building that reflected what their company was all about: speed, motion and high performance. A variety of panel products from Morin, A Kingspan Group Company, aided the design team in achieving those goals.

New College Of Florida Academic Center

At first glance, the New College of Florida Academic Center in Sarasota is another architecturally-pleasing structure. The building, roofed with Petersen Aluminum’s Tite-Loc Plus standing seam metal panels, sits at the entrance to the campus and makes a bold, welcoming statement. But more importantly, the Academic Center building is the only structure on campus to have achieved Hurricane Shelter Approval status from the Florida Department of Education.

New England Regional Council Of Carpenters Center

The New England Regional Council of Carpenters (NERCC) has represented the interests of its members for more than 130 years. When the new home of NERCC and the Boston Carpenters Training Center was designed in Boston, MA, it was important to organization leaders that it be comprised of both traditional and modern architectural influences. To achieve this goal, the new $20-million 74,000 sq. ft., three-story Carpenters Center features a mix of materials, including modern Alucobond® Aluminum Composite Material (ACM) by 3A Composites USA.

New Hampshire Institute Of Art Studio & Residence Hall

The studio and residence hall facility for the New Hampshire Institute of Art in Manchester, NH, is now located in striking new and renovated facilities, featuring metal panels from Petersen Aluminum. The project involved relocation and renovation of the original Manchester High School, a two-story brick building constructed in the 1840’s, to one side of the site. A six-story steel-framed building was then erected adjacent to it to provide studio space and student housing.

New Hampshire Victorian

It was love at first sight for a New Hampshire couple involved in real estate flipping. So rather than remodel and sell the 1880’s Victorian they’d discovered in West Lebanon, NH, they decided instead to renovate the home and keep it for themselves. In addition to revamping the interior—which included adding a home gymnasium—they re-did the exterior, making its signature feature a new Englert Series 1300 standing seam metal roof.

New Hope Ice Arena Renovations

Like many community ice arenas across the country, the New Hope Ice Arena in New Hope, Minnesota, needed some major renovations. The facility, built in the 1970s during a nationwide boom in the construction of community ice arenas, still had its original ice rink. As part of the renovations, the facility is now covered with a new standing seam roof system from The Garland Company Inc.

New Museum Of Contemporary Art

Coinciding with the institution’s 30th anniversary, the new home of New York City’s New Museum of Contemporary Art is set to open on December 1, 2007. The building is the first fine arts museum ever to be constructed from the ground up in Manhattan. And if that alone were not enough to make it special, its exterior cladding combines extruded aluminum wall panels with an expanded metal mesh covering. The system used was developed exclusively for the project, with M.G. McGrath of Maplewood, MN, assisting in the design and handling the installation.

New Orleans East Hospital

The former Pendleton Memorial Methodist Hospital was devastated in the flooding brought on by Hurricane Katrina. Officials broke ground on the New Orleans East Hospital in January of 2013. The $130 million project includes extensive renovation of the East Tower and construction of a new, 71,700-square-foot Patient Care Pavilion. CENTRIA architectural metal products were featured in the design.

New Orleans Regional Transportation Management Center

The 29,120-square-foot New Orleans Regional Transportation Management Center houses the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) traffic management personnel and New Orleans Regional Planning Commission (RPC). Completed in October 2009, both the DOTD and RPC needed a larger space to help them improve communication among motorists and better utilize their current resources. A variety of architectural metal products from CENTRIA were chosen for the project.

New Parkland Hospital

New York City Transit – Staten Island Bus Terminal

Adjecent a new bus terminal being constructed by the New York City Transit Authority was what some described as the "world's ugliest wall." Standing 30' tall and running some 500', the black-coated wall was abraded in some places and spotted with dirt. Charged with finding a way to cover it with a protective steel skin, and at the same time to improve the appearance, was EXTECH/Exterior Technologies, Inc.

New York State Thruway Exit 17 Interchange

Appearance, durability and sustainability were all cited as reasons for the decision to utilize three types of metal roofing on the exteriors of eight building constructed as part of the new New York Thruway's Exit 17 interchange outside of Newburgh, NY. The systems were manufactured by Firestone Building Products Co., Indianapolis, IN, and installed by WB Roofing and Sheet Metal, Schenectady, NY.

Newark Charter School Gymnasium

Building Concepts of America, an American Buildings Company (ABC) Authorized Builder, developed a new, 13,674-square-foot gymnasium for Newark Charter School in Newark, Delaware. The gymnasium includes a basketball court and locker rooms.

Newark Liberty International Airport Terminal B

Three types of flexible track products from Flex-Ability Concepts were used in the high-tech modernization of Terminal B at Newark (NJ) Liberty International Airport. The modernization strategy called for turning a former ground floor parking area—which was taken out of service as a security measure after the 911 World Trade Center attack—into a 70,000 sq. ft. baggage claim space for domestic arrivals. The improvements in Terminal B are part of an overall $279 million renovation of the entire terminal to accommodate growing passenger volume.

Newcastle Intl. Airport Traffic Control Tower

A Kalzip 65/400 aluminum standing seam system has been chosen to clad the new $16.3 million Air Traffic Control Tower at Newcastle International Airport in the North of England. Designed by 3D Reid Architects, this very distinctive 150’-high vase-like structure boasts several cascading tiers of tapered Kalzip panels with widths varying between 12 and 18 inches. Installed by Teamkal contractor Lakesmere Ltd, UK, for main contractor Sir Robert McAlpine, UK, the Kalzip system provides a cost effective, compact solution that serves to complete the striking geometry of this futuristic building.

NewCold Tacoma

Cold storage buildings are all about thermal security, and the leaders in this unique industry have come to realize that achieving it means relying on top-quality products like those offered by All Weather Insulated Panels (AWIP). Newmarket Operations Centre

Municipal maintenance buildings are typically designed with one thing in mind—function. And while it’s true the newly completed Ontario Operations Centre in Newmarket, Ontario, Canada, is a functional success, the building’s unique requirements dictated it be more than just a workshop or storage building. It needed to look good too. And by incorporating bifold liftstrap doors from Fairfax, MN-based Schweiss Doors, it does.

News & Advance Newspaper Printing Press Building

The News & Advance, Lynchburg, VA recently concluded a two-year, $26 million expansion project based around the installation of a state-of-the-art, German-made color printing press. The modernization project brings the daily paper to the forefront of newspaper production technology, according to publisher Terry Jamerson. More than 18,000 sq. ft. of Metl-Span CF Architectural insulated wall panels were used to clad the five-story addition to the newspaper’s existing building. The majority of the 3” panels were installed horizontally with a 1” reveal. The panels were finished in Sandstone.
