Metropolitan Park Apartments

More than 10,000 sq. ft of RHEINZINK material zinc wall panels in two finishes contribute to the “coolness” of the new Metropolitan Park Apartments in downtown Grand Rapids, MI. The 24-unit residential development addresses Michigan’s Cool Cities Initiatives, which are designed to make the state’s urban centers more appealing places for young professionals to live. The project was designed by Joseph Gonzalez, AIA, a principal with Chicago-based DeStefano and Partners Ltd. He explored the use of RHEINZINK material because of its relationship to European designs.

Metropolitan Shadyside

More than 10,000 sq. ft. of Citadel metal composite material (MCM) panels in two installation systems were used on The Metropolitan Shadyside, a new 42-unit luxury condominium project located in the Shadyside area of Pittsburgh. The distinctive six-story building was crafted to meet the specific needs of high-end condominium buyers. Designed by the Pittsburgh engineering/architectural firm Astorino, The Metropolitan Shadyside utilizes Citadel’s Envelope 2000® Rout and Return (RR) System as well as Citadel’s Reveal (RV) System. The panels were finished in Clear Anodized.

Meyer Najem Construction Headquarters

mhs Homes Broadside Headquarters

mhs homes is one of the UK’s leading social housing providers. When the agency commissioned Hazle McCormack Young LLP of Tunbridge, Wells, England to design for it a new headquarters building, energy efficiency was among the expressed priorities. For the architect’s part, it had priorities too, and one of them was to make sure the standing seam metal roof system chosen for the project was the very best available. In choosing Kalzip, the firm got the roof system it wanted and the technical support it needed to see the building’s challenging roof design through to successful completion.

Miami Intermodel Center

A woven stainless steel mesh system from Cambridge Architectural employs panels of bright, gleaming metal fabric to add high style and utility to the new Rental Car Center at the Miami Intermodal Center in Miami, FL. The four-level parking facility is the first major structure to be completed as part of the Miami Intermodal Center, an impressive new ground transportation hub in development by the Florida Department of Transportation.

Miami Valley Career Technology Center

Officials at the Miami Valley Career Technology Center wanted a look for the facility that matched its role as a world-class provider of innovative, high-tech career education. Located in Clayton, OH, the Center serves 27 area high schools and offers more than 50 career technical programs. Approximately 8,500 sq. ft. of .063" aluminum Dri-Design panels finished in Arabian Blue were used to create the dramatic new look. The Dri-Design Wall Panels System is an affordable, dry-joint, pressure-equalized rainscreen system. The renovation design was developed by App Architecture of Englewood, OH.

Michael B. Coleman Government Center

RHEINZINK America, Inc. and CENTRIA have formed a strategic marketing alliance. Showcasing their successful collaboration, the two companies recently worked together to provide architectural zinc façade cladding and roofing systems on the Michael B. Coleman Government Center in Columbus, Ohio. In Jan. 2019, the project earned LEED® Silver certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.

Making the best use of space in a hangar is a challenge. Tom Green of Marcelona, Mich., found the best solution for his two-plane hangar at his Lakes of the North Airport home and it involved hydraulic doors from Schweiss Doors.

Michigan State University - Brody Hall

Brody Hall, the center of Brody Complex in the Residential District of the Michigan State University campus in East Lansing, MI, was the first of seven buildings targeted for renovation. This facility not only serves as a dining hall for the 2,400 students living in the complex’s six residence halls, it also houses classroom, office and lab space. The Brody Hall renovation featured architectural metal products from CENTRIA.

As part of the company’s desire for new-world technology and a “forward-thinking manufacturing” approach, Microtech wanted more control of its energy and power requirements. That goal was met with the help of rooftop solar attachment products by S-5!.

Mid America Baptist Theological Seminary

After years of shared space and retrofitted facilities, Mid America Baptist Theological Seminary in Memphis, TN, has a brand new, high-tech campus building constructed to meet its specific needs. The 130,000 sq. ft. main building includes a 1,000-seat auditorium, 13 classrooms, eight lecture and seminar halls, dining hall and full-service bookstore open to the public. Approximately 34,000 sq. ft. of Petersen 18” Snap-Clad™ panels finished in Dark Bronze was utilized for the mansard style roof. In addition, 26,000 sq. ft. of material finished in Bone White was used for custom fascia and cornices.

Middlebury Union Middle School

The Middlebury Union Middle School in Middlebury, Vermont was strongly in need of a new roof. When district officials ordered the replacement of the old shingle roof with something new, a jobsite manufactured metal roof system from Perth Amboy, NJ’s Englert Inc. was the top choice.

Insulated metal panels from Metl-Span were specified to provide a more modern look to the two-story Middlesex Turnpike office building in Bedford, Mass. The owner wanted to escort the facility, erected in the 1970s, into the 21st century.

Midtown Exchange Tower

The Midtown Exchange Tower in Minneapolis, MN, is the culmination of a two-year effort to restore a former Sears Tower on the city’s Lake Street. Today, the building contains more than 360,000 sq. ft. of office space; a Global Marketplace of ethnic businesses and entrepreneurs, which occupies more than 75,000 sq. ft.; a 128-room full-service hotel and an eclectic mix of townhomes, condominiums and rental apartments geared to a wide range of income-earners. The use of PPG architectural glass and coatings was instrumental in helping the developers maintain the building’s historic character, while enhancing its energy-efficiency and environmental sustainability.

Midwest Machinery - Sauk Rapids, MN

At 43,500 sq. ft., the new John Deere store in Sauk Rapids, MN is big. And it’s a showplace of sorts, with an eye-catching 100’ x 160’ consumer display section and a retail counter that greets visitors with a colorful prairie scene that includes an old country barn and a depiction of the original 1-bottom plow that launched the John Deere machinery company in the mid 1800s. The building is clad with insulated metal wall panels from Kingspan and is equipped with a hydraulic door manufactured to specification by Schweiss Doors of Fairfax, MN.

Midwest Testing

With its clean lines, large windows and polished aluminum detailing, the new headquarters of Midwest Testing in St. Louis, MO, is modern and inviting. It was designed by Treanor Architects of Lawrence, KS, and features above its main entrance a curved aluminum canopy from Mapes Canopies LLC of Lincoln, NE. Utilized on the project was Mapes’ Super Lumideck Arched Canopy system. Extending 6’ out from the building wall, it measures 19’6” from end to end. It is trimmed with matching-finish 8” J fascia.

Mike Ilitch School Of Business

Located in the heart of Detroit, District Detroit is the Motor City’s literal epicenter of professional sports and live entertainment. There’s now something in District Detroit for students too: Wayne State University’s new Mike Ilitch School of Business. The building's exterior design is an expression of a modern corporate space, which carries through to the interior with the help of Perforating Imaging Panels from Dri-Design.
