Denton County Transit Authority

When the Denton County Transit Authority (DCTA) in Denton, Texas was in need of a new facility to support the rapid growth of buses, environmental consideration was crucial to continue their efforts to save fuel and eliminate carbon dioxide emissions. To help achieve sustainability and durability, DCTA used insulated metal wall panels and single skin metal roof and soffit panels manufactured by MBCI.

Denver Eastside Human Services

As part of the “Building A Better Denver” Bond Program, the new Denver Eastside Human Services facility serves qualifying applicants residing in the eastern portions of the city. The site for the new 54,000 sq. ft. building was previously an unused industrial lot. The facility provides family and adult assistance services as well as child welfare programs and boosts the area’s image architecturally, thanks in part to the use of DRI-DESIGN metal wall panels in its design.

Denver Police Crime Lab

Although fighting crime is no easy task, it’s gotten a bit easier in the Mile High City since the construction of the new $28 million Denver Police Crime Laboratory. The building improves the department's capabilities in evidence collection and analysis. The building is also the testament to the capabilities of Douglass Colony Group. The Denver-based firm was responsible for the fabrication/installation of the Reynobond aluminum composite material panel system used on the building’s geometrically challenging exterior.

Denver Tennis Park

Fifty-six skylights bring outside light into the Denver Tennis Park, owned by Denver Public Schools. Completed in September 2018, the 51,480 sq. ft. structure, featuring Varco Pruden Buildings' Rigid Frame system, houses seven indoor courts that are complemented by another six outdoors.

Derwood Bible Church

Derwood Bible Church, in Derwood, Maryland, provides a new and improved worship location and achieved the silver level of LEED® accreditation for its green building practices. In addition to a worship space, the 18,000-square-foot building, built by Gardiner & Gardiner Contracting LLC, an American Buildings Company (ABC) Authorized Builder, includes a nursery/toddler area, rehearsal room and conference rooms.

Des Moines Aviation Academy

It's pretty unusual to see large aircraft being transported through city streets, but the move to a new facility prompted the ground transfer of several helicopters and airplanes belonging to the Des Moines Aviation Academy in Des Moines, IA. What isn't unusual is the make of the hydraulic door chosen to protect those aircraft once they were moved to their new hangar. It was manufactured by Schweiss Doors, one of the nation's leading providers of bifold and hydraulic doors for the aviation sector.

Desert Diamond West Valley Casino

Designers of the Desert Diamond West Valley Casino in the Phoenix area drew on the desert's chameleon-like characteristic as they developed the “dynamic earth” theme that became a touchstone for their plans. They even carried that idea through to the parking garages that flank both sides of the casino’s main structure, incorporating perforated panels from Petersen that are graze-lit by color-changing fixtures to create a welcoming environment.

designCraft

The building was in a good location but was doing little to promote the creativity of designCraft, a Madison, WI advertising agency. To create a new look for their dated headquarters, the owners hired a local architectural firm who ultimately transformed the structure from tired to terrific. Materials incorporated on the makeover included wood and Wave metal wall panels from McElroy Metal.

Desoto County Career Technology Center West

Desoto County (Miss.) Schools wanted to create a learning environment for its future vocational student population with a goal of strengthening work force development in the region. Morin, a Kingspan Group Company, provided a multitude of profiles for the new 58,000 square foot building that met the aesthetic goal of reflecting the work going on inside.

Destin Commons Phase II Expansion

The major expansion of the Destin Commons shopping center in Destin, Fla., further establishes its reputation as a premier open-air lifestyle center offering the best in shopping, dining and entertainment on Florida’s Emerald Coast. The Phase II expansion, featuring PAC-CLAD metal roofing by Petersen, adds 100,000 sq. ft. to the 500,000 sq. ft. family-oriented shopping environment.

Detroit Public Safety Headquarters

Converting a casino into a public safety administration building requires some imagination. More than 90,000 square feet of insulated metal panels from Metl-Span® assisted with the transition and helped the Detroit Public Safety Headquarters become the city’s first facility to achieve LEED®-certified status.

DeWitt Family Science Center

Completed in 2019, the eco-friendly and state-of-the-art DeWitt Family Science Center creates a grand entrance to the campus of Northwestern College in Orange City, IA. The 61,000 sq. ft. facility is clad with metal panels from Quality Metalcrafts, finished in Fluropon® 70% PVDF coil coatings from Sherwin-Williams Coil Coatings. The building serves the health science programs at the college.

Diamond International

The centerpiece of an emerging commercial and industrial site in Springfield, Mo. is a new trucking facility that brings both innovative design and more jobs to the small city. The new 60,000-square-foot facility for Diamond International, a service and supply company for the trucking industry, was built by Varco Pruden Builder™ Rich Kramer Construction Inc.

Diamond Jo Casino

Diamond Jo Casino is a state-of-the-art casino and entertainment facility located at the Port of Dubuque in Iowa. The complex includes almost 1,000 slot machines, a bowling alley, restaurants, bars, retail stores, an entertainment theatre and parking ramp. The casino features 35,000 square feet of 24-gauge UNA-CLAD™ UC-4 no-clip standing seam metal roofing, soffit panels and trim stock. All the metal was supplied with a Hemlock Green paint finish.

DiMillo's Yacht Sales - Freeport

A new boat storage and sales location for DiMillo's Yacht Sales opened in Freeport, Maine in May 2018. The 12,432 sq. ft. operation features Rigid Frame construction from Varco Pruden Building Systems. DiMillo's Yacht Sales was selected as a winner in the Retail category in the 2019 Varco Pruden Hall Of Fame presentation.

Discovery Center

The Discovery Park of America is a striking new multi-million dollar education center and tourist attraction in Union City, TN, a small town of approximately 11,000 people located in the rural, western area of the state. The centerpiece of the 50 acre park is the 100,000 sq. ft. Discovery Center, featuring metal roofing from Petersen Aluminum.

Discovery Center At The Discovery Park Of America

Clad in gleaming white Reynobond® Aluminum Composite Material (ACM), a unique structure rising alongside of Interstate 69 in Western Tennessee has literally brought traffic to a standstill. Surrounded by flatlands, the new Discovery Center at the Discovery Park of America can be seen for miles. The effect is exactly what Robert Kirkland, the co-founder of the Kirkland’s home store chain, had in mind for the project he created to bring educational opportunities to his hometown of Union City.

Discovery Channel Telescope Enclosure

Forty-five miles southeast of Flagstaff, AZ in a place called Happy Jack, situated at a dark sky site on the Coconino National Forest, is the 4.25-meter Discovery Channel Telescope (DCT). Built for the Lowell Observatory, in partnership with Discovery Communications, DCT was designed to serve as a powerful research tool to be applied to a wide range of topics, including Near Earth Objects (NEOs), extrasolar planets and the exploration of the Kuiper Belt and is scheduled to be operable by 2011. To house the telescope, the Lowell Observatory commissioned a dome to be built which features Kingspan Insulated Panels’ 200 Inverted Rib wall and KingZip® Insulated Standing Seam Roof System.
