Great Falls Elementary School

Great Falls Elementary School is among a select number of schools in Maine to be heated and cooled exclusively with a geothermal system. That says something not only about the school’s design, but also about those making project decisions. That those same people saw fit to top the energy-efficient school with standing seam roofing from Englert Inc. is equally impressive. It is a testament not only to the reputation of metal roofing in general, but also for the products of Perth Amboy, NJ-based Englert in particular.

Great Pond Family Compound Home

There were plenty of challenges associated with the installation of metal roofing on one of the newest homes in Belgrade Lakes, ME, but nothing the project’s accomplished metal roofing fabricator/installer couldn’t handle. C.O. Beck & Sons of Waterville, ME, installed the roofing on the 6,000 sq. ft. home, like so many of the homes in the exclusive resort area. And as is routinely the case with Beck & Sons’ projects, the contractor’s roofing of choice was Englert job-site rollformed metal.

Recently two buildings, managed by Greenleaf Properties, found themselves in the crosshairs of just such an event - and this storm lasted nearly seven hours. The resulting damage was extensive, leading to a metal-over-metal reroof of the facilities using special factory-notched sub-purlins from Roof Hugger.

The gutters were installed by Greenwich Specialties, Inc. and unlike traditional gutter systems, the half-round RHEINZINK gutters are supported from below with brackets.
