Kimbrough Animal Hospital

The new Kimbrough Animal Hospital in Longview, Texas, was born of tragedy. A fire in the hospital’s previous building destroyed that structure. In the plans to rebuild, the owner wanted the highest level of fire protection, along with a design that reflected the area’s agricultural heritage and the journey he’d taken to create a new facility from the ashes of the old. Metal roof and wall panels from Petersen helped with both goals.

King’s Daughters Medical Office Building

King’s Daughters Medical Specialties - Portsmouth is a unique addition to the Portsmouth, Ohio, community. It brings a variety of medical specialists to downtown Portsmouth, with an emphasis on the region’s number one health problem: heart and vascular disease. There are three physician offices in the building: one for family care, and two others dedicated to cardiology. The project features CENTRIA’s Formawall® Graphix Series™. Graphix Series makes multi-panel designs become real within a single wall panel that is made to look like 12 smaller panels.

Knox College Academic Art Building

The Knox College Academic Art Building features 29,950 sq. ft. of space situated on two floors for the studio and art history departments. Situated at the northern edge of the campus and configured around a new plaza, the building develops a new connection between central campus and downtown Galesburg, IL. Metal systems from Star Building Systems figured prominently in the facility's construction.

Schweiss Doors provided a little imagination and a little innovation to help a Washington homeowner work his way around a zoning ordinance limiting garage doors to 8 feet in height.

Kosair Children’s Medical Center

The Kosair Children’s Medical Center in Brownsboro, KY is designed to bring a specialized level of care to children in the Louisville metropolitan area and surrounding region. To help give the building a kid-friendly look, Laughlin Millea Hillman Architecture of Louisville, KY, utilized a colorful Dri-Design rainscreen metal wall system on the hospital’s exterior. Featuring dry joints and 080”-thick panels painted Berkshire Blue, the pressure equalized assembly covers approximately 7,500 sq. ft. of wall area.

Kossen Equipment

The owner of Kossen Equipment wanted a majestic building to serve as the company’s headquarters in Richland, MS. Playing a key role in the creation of that facility was Continuous Beam framing from Varco Pruden Buildings.

Krispy Kreme - Victorville, CA

The first Krispy Kreme retail store opened in Greensboro, NC in the late 1980s. The company has since grown to over 1,000 locations, with the Victorville, CA store ranking among the newest. For that location Architectural Building Products in Buffalo, NY provided approximately 2,800 sq ft of Omega-Lite® ACM panels in Brite Red and Forest Green. Omega-Lite® is a product of Laminators Incorporated of Hatfield, PA.

KSU Student Life Recreation Center

Kansas State University’s satellite campus in Salina, KS is located on the site of the former Schilling Air Force Base. A focal point of the campus is the new Student Life Recreation Center. The 34,000 sq. ft. facility includes a roof form that takes its design cues from an airplane wing. The roof's deep overhangs, as well as other elements of the building, are wrapped with metal composite panels from Citadel Architectural Products.

Kuhn Hangar

Fuog/InterBuild Inc. is no stranger to winning National Frame Building Association awards. During the past two decades, the Purcellville, VA construction company has garnered four NFBA Building of the Year awards while finishing second or third in the judging numerous other times. In 2017 the firm once again claimed the post frame association's top project honor and this time it did it with the help of a Designer hydraulic door from Schweiss Doors.

La Jolla Residence

Uginox Patina K44 Terne Coated Stainless Steel by Aperam is highly corrosion resistant and covered by a 20-year warranty. It can be used in challenging environments as seen on this residential project in the La Jolla community of San Diego, California that was designed by Wallace E. Cunningham Inc., a firm well known for creating unique architecture since 1979.

La Joya ISD Child Nutrition Center And Police Station

Sustainability with the anticipation of growth was the reason behind the newly-constructed La Joya ISD Child Nutrition Center and Police Station in La Joya, Texas. Insulated metal panels from MBCI are featured on the new complex.

La Quinta Inn & Suites - Galveston

Met-Tile roofing has long been touted for its extreme wind upload resistance. In September 2008 the product faced a real-world test of its abilities when Hurricane Ike slammed the Texas coastline at Galveston. The storm was rated the third most destructive hurricane ever to make landfall in the U.S. One of the Met-Tile projects in the storm’s path was a La Quinta Inn & Suites hotel. And though the building did sustain some damage to its stucco walls, the 24,000 sq. ft. of Met-Tile roofing survived intact, protecting the structure in the face of punishing winds and driving rain.

Labatt Food Service Distribution Center

The giant new Labatt Food Service distribution center in Houston, TX utilizes approximately 140,000 sq. ft. of Metl-Span insulated panels in three different panel types. The $14 million project features 148,000 sq. ft. of space including a two-story office and storage areas for dry goods, perishables and frozen foods on a 21 acre site. Design/build services were provided by TEAM Group, Ltd., Euless, TX, specialists in the construction of food facilities.

Lady Bird Johnson Middle School

The recently completed Lady Bird Johnson Middle School in Irving, Texas holds the distinction of being the largest net zero public school in the country, the first net zero middle school in the country and the first net zero public school in Texas. Helping the building attain its status was 72,000 square feet of Fabral products, including wall panels, flashing and trim.

Lafayette College Bushkill Commons

The retrofit of Lafayette College’s Bushkill Commons is an example of adaptive building reuse, utilizing sustainable design, products, and energy efficiency. ATAS International's Isoleren insulated metal wall panels were incorporated into the building to help achieve those objectives. Completed in June 2017, the building was nominated for a Lehigh Valley Sustainability Award by the Lehigh Valley branch of the Delaware Valley Green Building Council.

Lafayette Library And Learning Center

Metal Sales Manufacturing Corporation, a premier nationwide provider of metal panels for the building and construction industry, covered the new Lafayette Library and Learning Center in Lafayette, CA with 31,000 square feet of vibrant and durable roofing panels. The Vertical Seam 24 gauge panels, coated in a cool Mistique Plus color, provide a complementary design aesthetic as well as sustainable functionality. The project team consisted of Killefer Flammang Architects, Santa Monica, CA, and installer PetersenDean, Newark, CA.

Lafayette Regional Airport Hangar Retrofit

In 2012, the Lafayette Regional Airport underwent a retrofit reroof and energy upgrade on their 114 Borman aircraft hangar building, with the help of retrofit framing from Roof Hugger topped with standing seam metal roofing from McElroy Metal. The Lafayette, LA project was unusual due to it being a reroof of an existing barreled metal roof; this required the new metal roof panels to be jobsite curved.

LaFontaine Buick Pontiac GMC Cadillac

In an industry often vilified for expanding man’s carbon footprint, one Michigan auto dealer has raised the bar for environmental consciousness by building the nation’s first LEED® Gold-certified auto dealership. The 63,000 sq. ft. LaFontaine Buick Pontiac GMC Cadillac dealership in Highland, MI, which opened in July 2008, received its LEED Gold certification in February by scoring 45 out of 46 possible points. Products utilized for the building's construction included more than 50,000 sq. ft. of Reynobond® aluminum composite material panels. Reynobond is a product of Alcoa Architectural Products.

LaGuardia Airport Air Traffic Control Terminal

Despite being the smallest of the New York metropolitan area airports, LaGuardia Airport is one of the busiest airports in the country because of its close proximity to Manhattan. Helping air traffic controllers more effectively manage the number of flights arriving and departing from the airport on a daily basis was the objective behind the replacement of the airport's old traffic control tower with one much higher. Wrapping the exterior of the new tower are aluminum composite panels manufactured from Reynobond ® material by Alcoa Architectural Products.

Lake Belton High School

The new Lake Belton High School in Temple, Texas, features an exterior design that mixes traditional and contemporary materials – and which mirrors the forward-thinking educational programs happening within its walls. Metal wall panels, supplied by Petersen in two different profiles, are key elements of the design.
